Creatures: The Norn Gardens Expansion

((Ok, nothing in particular here, just follow the storyline to some extent using your creature and you'll fit right in. Let's assume that the ship is exactly mapped as the one from DS. And yes, this on board the "Capilata", not the planet's surface.

If you want to be one of the norn eggs from Muco, you can come from that... other wise you'll have to find another way aboard.))


The ship lay in orbit around the moon, without power. None of the lights or gadgets inside the ship were operating, and thus the heat pan was not causing the Eggs to hatch artificially. They sat in the darkness of the Meso, waiting to hatch...

A swirling blue mist appeared on the lower level of the Norn Meso, and out tumbled Shadow. He was a little dizzy from that last warp. Looking around, he could not see anything other than the things illuminated by the moonlight and his portal. Some machinery, both broken and apparently in good condition, an elevator, and, behind him, a holoistic learning machine, were all powered down.

Shadow was a male grendel in his adolesence. He had a tendency to take eggs and hit norns. As typical a grendel if ever you saw one, except that he was trained so that his speed, strength, and aglitity were approximatly that of a human. An ultra-grendel if you will.

The learning machine... he remembered this. This ship was exactly the same as the one in his homeworld. He remembered hatching from his egg in the Jungle Terrarium, and seeing Goron. They had explored the ship a little and found a teleporter that took them to a ship just like this one. Goron had taught him how to speak on this very same type of machine.

Speaking of which, where was Goron? They must have gotten seperated in the warp. This was nothing new to Shadow, the warp was not an exact science. Goron was probablly in another realm somewhere. This did not really worry Shadow, he always seemed to find his way back to his friend one way or another.

Shadow trundled over to the elevator, which was already on his floor, and pushed ((up)) it. Nothing happened. Shadow hadn't expected anything to, with the power being out and all. But he needed to get up onto the main level so he could activate the generator onboard the ship and turn this thing on. Time for plan B.

He climbed the side of the elevator car until he reached the control bot that caused it to move up and down. He punched his claw into the back of the bot and ripped it open to reveal some complex circuitry and many lights, none of which were on.

Shadow sighed, this was going to take longer than he thought.

[Speeder]

Shadow was not the only one on the ship.

Jester and Blaze, the infamous norn duo, had made it onto the ship.

They were climbing through the hub's Airlock, and opened a door to find...

The Norn Meso.

They grinned as they saw it.

After trudging through the Meso, they manged to find the norn eggs.

The norn eggs began to hatch, and the two norns watched patiently...

Several shocks and a few short circuits later, Shadow finally got the elevator working. The machine came to life. In the darkness, it began to rise, with Grendel seated on top of it.

Shadow smiled to himself as he reached main level of the Meso. Leaping from the top of the lift, he began to make his way to the door of the Meso. His plan was to get to the communications room, and activate the ship's starter motor. This in turn could be used to activate the craft's main generator. Once the communications room was operational, he could activate the warp and get off this thing, and reunite with Goron.

He was reaching for the door of the Meso when he smelled a familar scent. His eyes widened in shock. He was not alone on this seemingly-lifeless chunk of metal. The scent was undeniably norn. Maybe more than one.

Shadow could not disobey his instincts. He turned on his heel and approached the hovel where the heating pan was located. Stopping at the doorway, he could see the faint form of two norns in the moonlight. A shiver went through him. Partially from excitment, partially from the cold. A ship in space without heat is very cold!

But wait... there was somthing similar about this particular scent, somthing familar... he searched his memory for it...

[Leporidae]

One of the eggs hatched . . . and it was a Grettin. She looks all grendle except for her body. Unlike most creatures, her hair was shaped to look like a male grendle's haircut. The infant looks at Jester, then at the robot toy. "Eem Narg Bleh" She had a small urge to hit the two adult norns watching her, but she was too ocupied with the toy to do much else . . .

The Grettin looked at the door and saw Shadow leaving. She noticed that she
looked alot like him and noticed the simularties. She starts to follow Shadow, but fell asleep once she gotten to the door.

Shadow passed through the door of the Meso, hoping his presence there had gone undected. The two Norns in the meso had seemed preocuppied by the eggs, so as long as one didn't hatch, Shadow need not worry ((He is unaware of the Grettin)).

Shadow entered the HUB of the ship and noticed, to his surprise, that the teleporter he had found in the other ship was absent in this one. Shadow became slightly nervous. He had doubted that he could fight two Norns at the same time, and was planning on escaping to the larger ship until he could find a companion to defend with. He had been wrong to assume this ship would be identical to the one he was born on. Things were starting to get cramped.

Shadow creeped down through darkened hall towards the door which had led to the communications room in the other ship. Now he wasn't so sure. But it was the only thing he had to go on. Taking a quick glance over his shoulder to make sure the Norns weren't following him, he pushed the door and stepped into the room behind it.

It was incredibly dark in this room, there were absolutely no windows to let in moonlight, and the only glow came from a blinking green button on his right. The darkness was somewhat frightening.

"Shadow scared."

Shadow shook it off and approached the button. He stood up, extended his arms to full length, and did a little hop, pressing the button in mid air. A screen lit up the room, but the lights stayed off. Now he was sure of it. This was the communications room.

Shadow attempted to remember how Goron had used this thing, with little success. He decided to wing it. Shadow began pushing buttons, learning what each of them did. At last a small switch the the left of the computer lit up, revealing the words above it.

"MAIN POWER"

Shadow pushed the switch, activating the lights throughout the entire ship. If they had not sensed him earlier, the two Norns would almost certainly realize that they were not alone on this craft. Shadow returned to the control screen, and resumed working, it quicker this time, the right combination of pushes and pulls got him to a screen that said "Configure Warp". He decided in case things got ugly, he should have an escape route. A last pull and he clicked the button that said, "Warp Power."

Typically, an error appeared on-screen, reading, "Warp Enabled: Output to Port 570 has been disabled by your system administrator..." He didn't bother to read the rest, he knew what it meant.

It meant the Portal was open only to incoming traffic. It was now only a matter of time. Either the Norns would find him, and he would fight, or something from either the eggs or from the warp to assist him. He had been in worse...

((OK, I agree to stop writing books...))

The young Grettin woke up. She can still smell the Grendle and starts to continue. She opens the door and finds herself in the muddle of the cappitilla.
Then she sits on the ground wondering witch door she should go through . . .

[Speeder]

Jester could smell Shadow a mile away. No normal grendel walked so fast. But he reconised the amounts of scent Shadow gave off at certain points.

But he never hurt Shadow, unless in self defence. Besides, he was only a baby then, and he was far too small to think properly. He didn't hate Shadow, it was only because he reminded him of his past, and the far-off future.

Blaze watched his companion solemly. And then turned. Another egg was hatching. This time it was a young Bondi, once again another Male.

Blaze grinned. He knew what to do...

"Wade push toy!"

It was about five minutes later. "Wade" as the norn had been called, had learn't all his words, (Remember, he is only a baby, so he speaks normal nornspeak, and bibble for the moment. He will speak normally when he gets older.) and was playing with the musicola. After dancing about, he giggled.

Blaze grinned, but Jester didn't. Blaze got worried. Halequinn's were supposed to be the jollyest norns about, but something was wrong.

Jester walked towards the great Muco, and passed it by. He sat on the heat pan, and like hundreds of the pregent female norns, looked up and wondered.

The female norns must of been wondering when the egg would be hatched, and what the norn inside looked like.

I came to this ship, and I forgot about Speeder. Where is he? Jester thought as yet another egg began to hatch.

*The noise of an entering Creature made itself known, and an adult female Dusky Grendel appeared through the Warp*

*It said in typical Dusky fashion, trying to push the portal again to back through*

a large section of an egg was pushed aside as a baby norn hatched.she was in the Heating pan next to jester and the civit grenorn was happy to see other creatures.

her tail,arms and legs where all grendel,leaving her head and torso civit.she crouched down and looked about.she crawled over to blaze and pulled on his arm."eem flib?"she asked him,as she looked up to his face.

Shadow was begining to become confused. There were so many scents all over the place. It was though a hoarde of new-comers had just come through the warp... but they were in the Meso too! Shadow tried to seperate the scents. Three norns... maybe four, and something he couldn't recognize were to his right through the door to the Norn Meso.

But to his left... he recognized that smell. It had been awhile since he had smelt it, but he could recognize that aroma anywhere. There was a Grendel in the workshop.

Shadow jogged towards the left-hand door, missing the Grettin that was curled up on the far end of the coridor all together, and pushed it. As he stepped through the light to the workshop the smell of grendel grew stronger. Even if it was only one other grendel, they had to start somewhere. All grendels generally were likable to other grendels, at least at first. Shadow pulled the lift and decended to the bottom floor. He hoped this one would be a good fighter.

Shadow stepped from the life and looked at the Grendel. It was mostly black, but with the standard red Grendel eyes, it's tail was more scrunched up than his, and she looked scared.

"Grarg scared"

Make that she was definitely scared. Shadow sighed in disapointment. She was clearly not a fighter. He had run into these before. Dusky Grendels as Goron had called them. They were generally scared of everything, including norns, which they were more likely to tickle then to hit. At least they were known to become less scared around other grendels.

Not much of a fighting force, but you gotta start somewhere...

"Maybe approach Grendel Grarg"

A new egg hatches, It's part gargoyle, part Dusky grendle. It was very hungry and starts to run twards Jester's Heel "Eem bibble"

[Speeder]

Jester was starting to smile. But nobody noticed the shadow of Wade, as he sneaked toward Muco...

"Wade push machinery!" Blaze turned around... AND SAW THAT WADE HAD BEEN PUSHING MUCO NON-STOP! An amazing amount of eggs fell into the heat pan. It would only be a matter of time...
