And It Was Good

In the beginning, God created the Earth. He created the plants and the trees and the animals and man he created in his own image. He called it good. He then rested for a day. Satan, the Devil of that Earth, came upon the creation when it was not half-ready and he saw it in its beautiful light. He loathed its perfection and he stole into the garden to defile man. He stole man's innocence and smote man's soul with the fruit. And God's works were undone. It was then Satan's endeavour to create a being in his own image. He modeled this being off of the newly soiled man and that creature stood on its own. It was a twisted parody of the light of creation, its very presence defiled the Earth and all that was on it. It was then that man was thrown from the garden and was stricken with the ills of this creature. Man was drawn to this evil, though, for to man it was a beautiful thing. The being ruled man in its infancy, unaware of the tremedous powers of destruction it had been given. It looked upon the Earth it had created, but did not think it good. This was because it loved beauty and all things decadent. It wallowed in the glory of the original creation. But it could not take joy in these things for its very purpose was to destroy them. So it led an unhappy life in the beginnings of the world. Eventually, man grew and became more prosperous despite the rule of the being. The being saw its effect on the populace and was grieved. It took itself and hid from man to protect creation. Deep beneath the dirt this creature buried itself and there it vowed to return someday for the betterment of humanity. Man remembered the creature well, even after it had left them. In there minds, it had become a thing of evil. It had destroyed everything they had and caused them great ill. They christened that beast the "Charling Lord" and that name became a curse in every toungue. So ended the first age of man, and so were the seeds of discourse planted on the Earth.

Charling Lord awakened from his subterranian slumber to fulfill his oath to man. It was many thousands of years later that this happened, but his first reign had not been forgotten by the people of the Earth. The Charling burst forth from that rock. "Man! I come to you bearing gifts of great knowledge! Come and I will teach you things from the ancient world!" Man turned away from him and called him mad. He saw their society, he deemed that as the cause for their discourse and so he sought to reform it. He tryed gently at first, just whispering sweet encouragement in the ears of the nobility, but his plees fell on deaf ears. He tryed to rally troops to aid his cause, but few came. He then saw his only option was his own self-destruction and the destruction of his followers. He failed however, and the changing of society was halted through the efforts of the vampire, Seph and his darling, Raven. Charling was curious of this new thing, the emotion of love. The couple stood before even the greatest odds for the protection of each other. Charling wanted to know more of these things, and he wanted to preserve them for himself. But like a delicate rose, nothing can be preserved indefinately...

Charling Lord watched as Seph and Raven spoke sweet nothings to each other. It was a foreign thing for him, and he was puzzled by their actions. They mesmerized him, such irrational behaviour was not within his comprehension. Love? What was it? He received no answer from his thoughts. He kept his silence as they spoke, but found no meaning in the words. Merely sounds, nothing more. He was too confused to speak.

"And if i refuse?" Sywyn's words echoed through the chamber. The armor clad men look at one another, the one who was clearly in charge sighs. "look, this job is important.... so....". Sywyn quickly cuts in "relax... i was joking" he says tilting his head. " the head knight lets out a sigh of relief and motions for the others and Sywyn to follow him. "alright, the place we will be traveling to is known as the sea of tears."

[Panther385]

Panther floated around the castle aimlessly, her green ghostlyness standing out from the furniture and stone. Crimson eyes scanned a bedroom she was in, before locking on to a scurrying mouse. The spectral feline dismissed it with a twitch of her whiskers, passing through the wall to yet another hallway.

"This place is like a maze..." The undead housecat sighed, her ears pricked to attention.
