The Concordat

[Falhado]

Finally reaching the entrance, Father Mac looks up as he sees the giant dragon. He had not anticipated such a large being, nor in fact such a large dragon. "My word. I am a little astounded. Perhaps a request may carry some weight with those who seek to harm now." Connecting with the dragons mind, not intrusively, but merely to speak to him ~Hello friend. f you look down towards the entrance, you shall see one other and I.~

Looking for Blue, he sees her flying in front of the large dragon, ~Blue, perhaps you could join me near the entrance? Candy shall be joining us soon hopefully.~

Liessa remains where she is, unwilling to follow. She really didn't want to say what was wrong. Hearing Lianna leave, she scrambles out of the vent, and replaces the cover and runs off down a hallway towards one of the transporter rooms. Searching through her own list of private codes, she selects one of the facilities, the one that was previously thought to explode. The updated information alerted her to the fact that it was sae and that the scientists had succeeded with their plan, minus a few casualties.

Selecting those co-ordinates, she climbs inside the transporter and a few seconds later finds herself inside the facility. Stepping over the injured and unconcious scientists, she navigates through the blinkering lights and the sparking wires. She runs into one of the chief scientists here, "Is it ready yet?!"

"Uh, yes Miss. If you'll follow me, I'll prepare it for you. It's only been tested twice, there may be still be bugs in it."

"I would expect not, if only for your sake. It would be a waste of my time having to retrain you."

"Yes Miss. Well, we've done everything we can. We siphoned of the excess energy into the chambers power cells. It will only last a short while if it works. But we're ready we've a second one if the power begins to fail. You understand this technology is extremely dangerous and very unpredictable."

"Yes yes. I've read the reports, I've spoken with other experts, much to their suprise. It's always fun to see their faces when they hear me talking like an expert. Much like the one on your face now."

[Swix]

"Excuse me, I'm afraid I have to leave you"

Blue says to Albia, bowing slightly before turning around. She flaps her wings once, propelling her up and a little forwards before angling them so that she glided down towards Father Mac.

Blue lazily circled as she glided, in order to make her landing easier. The draconic mutant eventually glides in just to the side of the Father before her feet touch ground as her wings flap powerfully to stop her momentum.

Blue comes to rest and folds her wings, now standing next to Mac.

Fade plotted the course, all the while thinking. Perhaps she'd been alone for too long in here, if Zarleran and her own conversations were managing to prove a distraction for someone such as Phase.

"Zarleran suggested I bite you. She thinks perhaps it would help heal you... The course has been inputted and we shall be jumping through the Warp again to follow it. But we will not emerge directly there, we shall instead emerge a little way away and monitor the rift before approaching in normal space"

[Laur Doyle]

For once in her life, Laur really wanted to laugh, but she didn't. She still had her image to keep.

"Not at all Lex, you have done nothing to displease me. You should perhaps think upon what Lianna just said. Put it into a different context, then it should be clear"

Lianna looks at Lex, a little surprised to see nervousness on his face. She'd know relating to her mother would be a challenge from the start but, for her to actually make him nervous when he thought he'd displeased her? That was some achievement.

"That's... not entirely what I meant Lex... and why were you hovering your hand over that book? Someone might think you're up to something you know"

[The Concordat]

"I would never share such information with you! You could not force from our minds so long as we are true to the cause," the commander responded to Collator, then to the guards, "Take him away!"

The four guards each took out long poles with tazers on their end. Sparks flew from between the two prongs. The commander lowered the force feild so they would be able to get at him, then the four Veterans all prodded at Collator at once.

On one of the island's plateaus a Veteran wielding a laser sniper stopped his patrol and looked down at the forest anxiously. Had he seen something in that clearing over there? It was but a blur of motion, but the Veteran had learned that even something like that might be an enemy with active cloaking. He raised his scope and flipped on the infrared setting.

A thin outline, blurred against the background. A wisp of smoke perhaps. But where would it have come from? Intrigued, the sniper swapped to X-Ray scope.

There it was, plain as day. He couldn't make it out entirely, but there it was. He grumbled something into his radio before centering his sights on Spook and pulling the trigger.

[GBE]

"Perhaps actions would speak louder than words." He just stands there as the Veteran demands that he's taken away. As the gaurds approach him, and jab their prongs at him, he siphons of the energy discharged and uses it to refill his on board batteries, even if they weren't that empty to begin with. He grabs one of the poles with both arms, and as the gaurd tries to stun him, he re-diverts the energy back into its power cell causing the battery to explode (you will have to let me know if this gaurd is harmed in any way).

As the second jabs the device towards his face, he moves as quickly as he could, only managing to shift most of his face in time as the prong discharges onto the mask just covering his ear. With something of a grunt, the mask releases a large amount of steam as if to cool down. It swings of on one side, revealing his mouth, nose and chin, the first time the Concordat would have seen his full features.

Staring at the one that had just caused him some unnecessary grief, he grabs hold of the pole, and yanks it towards himself, and moves his straightened hand quickly towards the gaurds chest in an attempt to impale the creature...

Phase nods as Fade informs him about the impending warp jump. "It may be necessay to dress as long haul Space Drivers. It may help us locate Alex. Perhaps we might be able to access and hack the records. It may prove useful."

Buckling himself up for the jump, "The illness stems from my powers. Simply removing my powers would fail, as it only removes your ability to use them of your own accord. My body would shut down much faster. A bite from a vampire, or what may be considered close to one would prolong the pain, as my ability stems from my genetics. It would require a far greater control of every last atom in my body. I cannot achieve that as I have no control over biological or living substances and cells.

If you remember the mirror lake that we were once near. When our apparent alternate dopplgangers came through. I believe that version of me, or at least a version of myself with biological capabilities wll be the only option to stop this illness."

As the ship warps and re-emerges some distance from the space station, "Is it necessary for you to have immortality?"

[Spook]

Spook's ship floated silently in the clouds. Onboard in the conrtol room, three computers hummed as they scanned the island and made various calculations. On the screen, a red dot indicating one of the Concordat began to pulse. On another computer, a green LED lit up.

Spook carefully weaved his way through the trees. The forest was thick, but patches of sunlight dappled the ground. He looked around himself nervously, but he saw no one. He couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched however.
Suddenly, the ship-to-ground comm link in his ear began to beep. Instincively he ducked, and hit the ground. There was a bright flash of light and the sound of a lasar weapon firing. Spook opened his eyes, and got up slowly. He looked around. There was a smoking hole in the tree behind him, only inches above where his head had been. He looked up through a break in the trees in the direction the shot had come from and saw a small plateau jutting out of a cliff face. There was a figure kneeling on it with a weapon in his hands.
Oh shi-, he thought to himself, They saw me.
Spook ran into the trees, where he hoped he would be out of sight. He could feel that he was ready to shapeshift, so he let his body melt into the ground. Moments later, the ground began to shake violently.

[The Concordat]

The battery exploded, and the Guard's shield glowed. Instinctively he pulled away and dropped the spear. The Guards growled as they saw his mechanized features. As Collator goes to strike the Guard back, A plasma sword dropped out of nowhere, blocking the shot.

"I was hoping it wouldn't come to this...," the Green Veteran said, holding the sword now in Collator's path. He twirled the blade and wrenched the spear from its trajectory, before proceeding to swing it at Collator's head.

The sniper looked on through his scope. Something was happening down there. He couldn't quite figure it out, but he kept watching. Suddenly two fighters blasted over his head, distracting him. The ground began to shake, but not from the fighter's pass over...

The ships soared toward the cloud that was Spook's ship. Evidentially they had picked up the beep. They still couldn't see it though...

[Swix]

"Would you search for another route, or for your 'doppelganger' from the alternate dimension?"

Fade asked as they re-entered normal space, after having listened to everything Phase had said. She stayed where she was, monitoring the rift.

"You will find alternate uniforms in a hatch in my room, to the right of the door. There should be suitable material to dress as you suggested"

His last question, she pondered. Was immortality really necessary?

~Is death necessary?~

Zarleran asked, her mind-voice full of curiousity now that someone had asked her host a question that she had to hink about.

~It is necessary for evolution, immortality is survival~

~Then there is no answer to the question, as both are necessary~

~Is it necessary for me to have immortality?~

~As long as you and I remain symbiots, you will have immortality, even if it is not necessary~

Fade's watery grey eyes briefly looked up from her console to regard Phase.

"Your question about immortality is irrelevant and unanswerable. I remain immortal as long as Zarleran resides within my body. No-one else is willing to take her, and she is not willing to die unnecessarily"
