I just find LOTR's bores me, not sure why really. I've read books just as long as them, some longer and I didn't mind reading them. Perhaps the answer lies within my brain. I'm not delving in there though, not sure what I'll find.

Honestly, the thing i liked most about LOTR? Actor commentaries and finding out how they made the props in the movie. The book isn't something I'd love to read again, and I'm over the movies themselves, buuuuut...

Also, the Simarillion is good!

Ah yes, the Silmarillion, I can read that in a few hours easily, It's more complicated than LOTR and you always have to go back to see who's who yet it's easier to read.
