Every forum now has its own specific icon set, for maximum lulz.

I'll be adding the same thing to inside the forums, still on a forum-wide basis.

Additionally, give a big hand to Embri, who's making all these lovely icons that Net doesn't like Razz

Is there an option that lets me disable this? It's nice and all, but it's annoying to have to wait for all the icons to load before I can tell which ones contain unread posts. Precious, precious unread posts...

Doesn't your browser cache images? And besides, it doesn't take -that long-. and if you use firefox you should get the beginning of the alt text, something like "no" or "un", for no unread messages and unread messages, respectively.

Just bookmark the "View unread posts" page, Net. *Points to text link on upper right from main page.*

That'll show you all the unread posts since you last visited. And turn your browser caching on, as AL said. That'll eliminate the download time.

I think an egg would be an ideal symbol for the Norn Gardens. I like the new shiny icons lots, too, it must be rather hard getting them just right.

Can do, SFOT. I was going to go with a Norn in profile, but if you prefer an egg I could do that.

As for the shininess, I'll tell you the secret - it's a Photoshop Style; basically, a set of Layer Effects. All I have to get is a silhouette, and slap on the style. The shadows actually cause me more grief than the colours. (silver icons are just copies of the gold, de-saturated, lightened and increased in contrast).
