|
|
Just a last ditch attempt before we break through to December. Can we, on behalf of all Blackstarians, have the judges scores for any outstanding matches, and begin the next/final rounds of the Olympics?!
It'd be great to be done in time for Christmas. Then, everything can start again next year
This is also on behalf of the economy of Blackstar which literally will go out of control. And since DP has already put caps on threads for post earnings, surely he doesn't want to see the Olympics cause a small handful of people to earn a sum-total worth more than the bank can actually hold..
If certain judges are unavailable for any reason in particular, could they be replaced by others who are just as capable, and not involved in those particular events?

Relax GBE. They have foreseen this and lowered the odds on the bet. Now I'll only be getting 1,500,000 instead of the original 150,000,000. Bah.
Also, had they not done this, it would have been too late. Should we abide by the Olympics rules we need one week per match... _________________ ~Goron~

Yeah, I kinda brought up the same problem a while ago:

I second EnD's animal impression, for should the Olympics not be allowed to run their course, the Dojo WILL BE DESTROYED.
Fincancially.
BEHOLD! The following is a list of people who have bet on the Olympics NOT finishing by the end of 2006, and the amount of money that they will receive on the first day of 2007:
* Embri - Bet 1 , Wins 1,000
* Seph - Bet 500 , Wins 500,000
* SFOT - Bet 20 , Wins 20,000
* Leporidae - Bet 7,000 , Wins 7,000,000
* Cirrial - Bet 1 , Wins 1,000
* 3kul (hehehe ) - Bet 1,000 , Wins 1,000,000
* Danikat - Bet 1,000 , Wins 1,000,000
* Goron40 - Bet 150,000 , Wins 150,000,000
* TROT84 - Bet 1,000 , Wins 1,000,000
* Kat_05 - Bet 1,000 , Wins 1,000,000
* Shadowveil - Bet 100 , Wins 100,000
* TheDarkPsycho - Bet 4,000 , Wins 4,000,000
Yes, on January First the Blackstar Dojo will be flooded with an excess of 155 million . Want something to compare that to? The current total possessions being held in the First Bank of Blackstar Dojo is a meagre 28.9 million. You don't need to be a mathematologist to know that this is like pouring an ocean into a pond (or if you prefer a more humourous analogy, forcing an elephant into a pair of pants custom-made for midgets). |
Good to see that I've been ripped off by the bookmaker to compensate for what would have otherwise been a certain win, were this real life I'd advise the bookie to go into hiding for a while
Maybe posting up some unofficial scores or something like that would either encourage the judges or allow us to continue? _________________ If I'm not here, I'm probably over at...

I think it was Kat/me who never finished. I'll have to fix this when I get back. _________________ Shaon Galatea -- Artist | Musician | Radio DJ | Voice Actor | Writer |

Nice avatar 3kul.
And I sure wouldn't squander my money in Thatanos fashion!
*Wishes there was an angel smilie.*
But you were right then, and you would be right now... had they not lowered the odds. But anyways... who wants to kill the bookmaker (aka Addman)? _________________ ~Goron~

No, it was all of the judges who didn't judge the round of Corporate vs Blackstar. Every other round has been decided already, that was the only one that we were waiting on afaik.

I'm not sure whether you're referring to my non-existant battery compartment or the Corporate vs Blackstar thread, but I'm going to assume that you mean the latter . Well, I think I'll be the first - I'll be reading through it and posting my own unofficial judgement.
Since it's unofficial, it won't actually mean anything, but maybe it'll get people back into the Olympics somehow >_>...
EDIT:
3kul's Unofficial Judgement for Round 1 - Match 2: Corporate vs. Blackstar
| Quote: |
Blackstar Team
Believability: 10/10: This category seems kind of weird to me, so my scores and comments are probably meaningless. If the question to be asked is did I believe that these were your characters, then the answer would be a definate yes, there was no doubt about that. Each person posted exactly as I would have expected of them, having watched you all for a while I can easily tell your distinctive styles apart. TROT was TROT, Lep was Lep, Cirrial was Cirrial. Not much else to say .
Powerplay: -8/-10: Jumping homing missiles, having the extreme fortune to find a special weapon that would most likely be a huge aide to you, as well as barely taking any damage (nearly every single attack from the Corporate Team managed to miss their target, or was dodged) all contributed to this rather high (or low, since we're working in negatives) score. Ignoring and failing to take into account several aspects of your opponents characters also partially resulted in powerplaying, which somewhat contributed to this.
Inventiveness: 5/10: You did seem somewhat inventive, but you lost points for repeating the same moves that clearly hadn't done very much damage. TROT's uses of the Mantis Flip Coin won you some bonus points here, as it was a good strategy that proved to work well in his favour (unlike reverting to his demon form, which seemed rather unnecessary and pointless by comparison). I would have liked to see a little more variation and strategy myself.
Personality/Flair: 7/10: Hm, what can I say? TROT was definately focusing more on action than on character, but that in itself is his own style. Lep and Cirrial held pretty true to their characters as well, though in all honesty I'd say that most of these points go to Cirrial, who despite his low postcount displayed a lot of his own flair.
Cleverness: 3/10: You would have scored higher here if you didn't keep repeating the same moves - the plastic gold bricks clearly did no damage whatsoever, barely even serving as a distraction, yet there were several instances of you using this strategy. Using the soundwave to cause light damage to the mech was somewhat clever, but repeated usage wasn't really. Assuming that the mechs wouldn't be waterproof was just naive .
Grammer/Spelling: 3.33/10: You guys really lost out on points here - TROT and Lep made spelling and grammatical mistakes in nearly every one of their posts, Cirrial is basically the only reason you get a third of the available points.
Teamwork: 4/10: I'm probably being a little generous, but towards the end TROT and Lep worked okay together. I feel sorry for Cirrial, whom they pretty much abandoned for the entire match.
Total: 25.33 / 60 |

Corporate Team
Believability: 10/10: Again, I don't get this category. I could easily tell who was who, they all took on their typical roles and displayed their own well known personalities. Rawlings was Rawlings, Till was Till, Laur was Laur. Simply put, anybody who has a vague idea of who these three are would be able to tell that these posts were made by them.
Powerplay: -2/-10: This is a damn hard score to give, because to be honest the Blackstar Team really didn't get that many hits in. When one has to defend against plastic bricks and a partially filled thermos there really aren't many ways you can powerplay, and they did take these light hits. The main thing that the Corporate Team lost points for were their scanners - they just seemed to make things far too easy for you all, though Laur did tone this down with the weak detection of clones and inability to determine what Cirrial was.
Inventiveness: 8/10: It was good to see that the Corporate Team wasn't afraid to try a different strategy when one didn't work, and they came up with a fair few clever moves to deal with whatever the Blackstar Team had to throw at them.
Personality/Flair: 10/10: Till's over-confidence in his own abilities (and his accent ), Rawlings' naturally assumed role of leader and Laur's calculative nature all seemed fairly typical of these characters. Given that they are all constantly in-character it's kind of hard for them not to get a perfect score in this category.
Cleverness: 8/10: The quick formation of a good strategy was certainly a good thing to see, I have to say that the Corporate Team seemed far better prepared for this than the Blackstar Team. Each mech was armed to the teeth and well protected against any onslaughts, as was made evident by the fact that they took very little damage in this round. I was initially worried that the usage of mechs would result in nothing but repetitive attacks but fortunately I was wrong.
Grammer/Spelling: 9.99/10: No problems here, though unfortunately Till's accent creates quite a large amount of collateral spelling errors .
Teamwork: 8/10: There were a couple of instances where one member sort of broke away from the rest of the team or did things differently, but all in all the Corporate Team worked brilliantly together. I suppose this is only natural given that they've been working with each other for much longer than the Blackstar Team has.
Total: 51.99 / 60 |
In my opinion, the Corporate Team dominated this round entirely. No offense to the Blackstar Team, as had the round gone longer things might have improved for you, but there was no time at all in that round where it looked like you were going to win. Don't take it badly though, as I'm sure that if you yourselves were to look back over this (more Lep and TROT than Cirrial), you'd see that you've both vastly improved over your older RP style. Even if you don't think that, I'm the Mantis Sensei, so I must therefore know better and be correct .
From what I could tell, the Corporate Team was probably the best organized team in this thing. Though the EC has been around for the longest, unlike the Corporation not all of our characters work so well with each other. That's not to say that we lack teamwork, just that we don't exactly complement each other well (plus we were kind of down one team member, which threw everything off a little). However, from the action that I saw over in our EC vs Guardian round, the Guardians team also worked very well together, it'd be cool if the Olympics got up and running again just so that we could see the Team finals. _________________ If I'm not here, I'm probably over at...

All I can say is: Wootz0r.
If the rest of the scores are anything like that, I just won another bet. And judging by the fact that you gave TC more than double the points of BS... I'm going to guess that's correct.
Too bad Embri wasn't there. She might have evened this match a little.

As you can see, this rule only applies to official Olympic judges, which I definately am not (thus I am above the law! ). Although on the downside, that means that my little judgement doesn't really mean that much at all.
Embri certainly would have made the match a little more even, but she had her reasons for switching out of the team. _________________ If I'm not here, I'm probably over at...
