Hey guys,
I am starting to get emails from a person in "Liberia" saying they want to invest or give you 15 million american dollars.

THIS IS A SCAM!!!!

DO NOT REPLY TO THE EMAIL.

I did my reaserch and found out that it has been going on for a while,but now has hit a new wave.This is the second email,read it and beware if you ever get one close.

Yes, I can see how I'd fall for this. I mean, we have the rather obvious and transparent 'I, a wealthy and yet obscure figure, am requesting that you, a person totally unknown to me, help me launder my incredibly large sums of money in exchange for a sizable portion of said money' (contrary to what this person's said in their e-mail, I'm under the impression that if you're caught doing something like this you'd actually in quite a bit of hot water, though since this is clearly a scam there's no need to get into that). First three hits on Google are all for scams, all of which sound somewhat similar but are a bit different.

I really don't think that anybody here would be dumb enough to reply seriously to one of these things, so there's not much point in posting it imo Razz

Yes, I recived Stupidtastic emails SIMILAR to that that promise things like "Zomg! fr33 /\/\0|\|3y! |_0|_!" or "Z0/\/\fg! jo0 |(an |-|@v3 @ b1g s3T oF (This part varies, And I really shouldent hint on what it is...)!11one |_O|_!!!!111kaploksoneoneONENONE

They must think I am an idiot....

Somebody should reply to that, saying,

"Mr. Omani,
I am very flattered by your proposition, but I am sceptical as to its validity. Please send me 500,000$ as a gesture of goodwill."

Or something like that, and see how they respond Very Happy

The way most of these things work is that they ask you to either give them your bank details so they can transfer the money and then they use them to steal money from you directly, or they ask you to set up a special account, then ask you to either put a "small" (relative to the profit you'll allegedly make) amount in to ensure its active, or they come up with some sort of unexpected costs and ask you to pay for them since all their money is tied up in the transfer.

Then they take that money and you never hear from them again.

I used to collect these emails, but I lost interest after a while anf deleted the file.

I am actually a big fan of spam, I love to email these people back and act stupid in the hopes of getting some sort of funny response. I might just reply to that one you posted.

I used to hate spam, but now I see it as an opportunity to waste some idiot's time who thinks they are going to get money from you.

You should have replied saying:

"Since this transaction requires secrecy and confidentiality I shall not send you my details through an insecure network as the internet. I am very interested however so as a sign of my goodwill I shall tell you to meet me 'When the sun reaches the horizon, at the sign of New Mexico when the date is right'. If you cannot fathom out this riddle then I shall assume you are not worthy (and are indeed a fraud), but if you do meet me then we need a special code. How is this:

You: Would you like to join me for a cocktail?
Me: Sure
You: Would you like a wormdo?
Me: What's a wormdo?
You: It wriggles along the ground like this *Perform wriggling action with finger*

What do you mean this is a Hoax and I can get arrested... I said yes and hes deposited it as he says : ) besides if it was a hoax hed have a good time stealing money off me- im a University student Im a good grand into my overdraft Razz

Unlisted: Yes, I've been expecting an exceedingly large deposit into my account from one Suleman Omani. You might know him, he was once a government official in Liberia, he was kind of a big deal over there.
Teller: Ok, just a moment... I'm sorry sir, your account appears to be almost two million dollars overdrawn. We'll just be taking your home, worldly possessions and any chances of a decent future away from you now.
Unlisted: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WE HAD A DEAL SULEMAN! WE HAD A DEEEEEEAAAAAAAALLLLL!

The strangest one I ever got was from 2 kids in a refugee camp.

I emailed back and told them it was the first refugee camp I'd ever heard of that had internet access.
They just asked if I'd help, which was no fun.

So I just told them I can't because the government have been watching my bank accounts since the last Incident and I was worried about what my parole office would think.

Not the best reply but it shut them up.

Seriously! If they can host a game on their site, they can host an email account. Why the hell would you use yahoo?!

The good thing about scammers is most of them are dumb as stumps.

Thing is, Quite a lot of Spammers are something called Bots. What bots do is they copy one message and then spam it out to random email adresses. Then, When you open that letter, It just invites more as that spam is just checking to see if your email adress is a valid email adress or something.

Scammers are so dumb. I have to wonder if they even have a life. What's worse, is some people are dumb enough to fall for them, too. How can you BE that stupid?? At least there are a few people willing to take advantage of scammers and give them their just reward. And make their life miserable at the same time...oh, wait, that IS the just reward Twisted Evil

Also, I just sent Mr. Olmani an email just to annoy him.
