The Need for a Temporary Mantis Sensei

As I mentioned a little while ago in the 'Going on Vacation Thread', I will be going on holidays within the next month. However, there's a few new and important factors for me to take into account here. For one thing, whilst I'm still leaving on the 16th of December, I'm now staying for longer than I said in my previous post (I don't have an exact date just yet, but you can expect me to return pretty late in Jan). I'm told that we'll be travelling a little bit, so I expect my internet access will be pretty minimum, if I get any at all.

But the most important change to my previous post is my new position of responsibility, that of being the Mantis Sensei. I suppose that usually a Mantis Sensei could count on a black belt to fulfil his/her duties in times like these, but unfortunately the system is still relatively new, and I have no blackbelt ranked Mantis style RPers.

Please note that only Mantis belt bearers can help me out here. I don't mind if you've got another belt, but it's a job that only someone who RPs Mantis style can do (whether you are currently a Mantis belt berer or just aspiring to be one it doesn't really matter, provided that you are a proper Mantis belt bearer by the time I have to leave). I'm not going to pressure people by saying things like "I was going to ask so-and-so" or "my first preference would be blah" because I don't want to force this job on to them. The other important thing to remember is that this job is only for people who have the time for it. Don't even think of volunteering if you're planning on going on holidays Razz

In a nutshell, your jobs as replacement Mantis Sensei would entail checking applications for a Mantis blet, as well as applications for an upgrade in belt rankings and the like. It's not too difficult, but it's not the sort of thing that I'd want to leave alone for more than a month. Please post if you can help me out here. If it turns out that more than one person wants the job and you can't decide it between yourselves, I'll probably sort out a quick tournament of some sort to help decide Razz

I'll probably have my belt by then... And during the holidays relatives visit, and I'm not that fond of them at all. I'll have a large amount of internet time, so I guess I can do it. Very Happy

Well, if you want me to, 3kul, I can manage both Tiger and Mantis for a bit (I'm off from classes most of the time your gone). I have a Black belt, and a Tiger belt...should be close enough to qualifying.

EDIT: Actually according to my records I aqquired it on the 24th. Which makes sense, as I posted on the subject on that date.

Therefore it's actually the 5th.

And yes, DP is right with the dates Goron, I either got your PM a bit late or our different time zones messed things up or I don't know, just don't be too annoyed with me, ok? Wink

DP, if you feel that you've got the free time then you'd probably be the best candidate for temporary substitue Mantis Sensei, given that you already have access to the secret sensei area and the adminly powers to dish out belty goodness.

There is still plenty of time before I have to go though, I'm not asking anyone to set anything in stone just yet.
