Any of you who came from the DS forums originally still play Creatures, but I thought you might like to know... for nostalgia's sake... that today Nov 11, 2006 is the tenth birthday of the Creatures game. I myself have spent most of the day playing each of my creatures games with some of my favorite saved and exported creatures. I've had fun with the series for many years and it was nice to remember them this way.

Anyway, I Just thought you might like to know. Smile

I'm not here to make a pain of myself, but I've not hung around for long enough to have a firm grasp of all the rules here either. So I beg forgiveness if I'm in the wrong place.

Nah. This is the right place, there's a Creatures RP sub-forum, but no sub-forum on just general creatures realted trivia. Very Happy

Ten years, eh? That's pretty old, and yet no one has been able to supass the greatness of Creature's DDNA. Smile

Hmm....

It would be nice if a few people could make some sort of 3d creatures fangame or something. Like, I dont know. A doom .WAD or two that has you playing as a hardman norn and killing grendles or something (Did I just say Killing grendles? EWW!)

It's amazing that this game has lasted so long without spiraling into the oblivion that most old games go. This is definitely a good day to play Creatures...

Wow, as it really been that long?

Even more amazing to think I've been playing it almost as long. I think it was late December, early January kind of time when mum first bought Creatures 1. Strange to think its been so long.

But its great to see the game's still going, and still being so popular after all this time.

Ten years? Wow, that's quite something. Amazing, isn't it, how the community behind a strange, one-of title sort of branched out into what it is today.

I don't think I'd be the same person, had that strange game my Uncle bought (Creatures 2) not arrived in the mail one birthday. The game became a hobby, an obsession, a portal to the internet, and teacher of the basic operation of computers. I learned a lot in the past seven years as a Creatures player.

I've put it on hiatus for a while, like many things of mine. The game has fallen by the wayside, now that school is calling louder and louder. Still, I have a few projects on the go (most notably my Creatures 2 neuroscience experiments for psychology). It's still ticking away, and I'm keeping it going.

Thanks, TreeSprite, for reminding us of this. It's good to know where we come from, isn't it?
