Lep was looking over the Dojoian Times, her eyes scanning the page.
NEWS FLASH!
A new belt ranking was made. Now, instead of being ranked by the number of 'actions' you do, you will be ranked on your experince and expertise! It will be orderd as the following:
Leporidae skimmed through the page, but the Mantis is what really caught her mind. The goals seemed mostly simple enough, along with Tiger. She examined over her abilities and weponds:
Abilities: Hibernation, Cube, and Alchemy (Learned).
Weponds: Claws, Teeth, Sabre, and Staff.
So far, in her mind, Mantis is what she will be going. Now she recalls her past in the Dojo. Yep, mostly she had be using. Anouther point for Mantis. So it was decided, she is destined to be a mantis master (Eventually, of course). She now looks over the goals for a green belt:
Green Belt = Has partaken in one major RP campaign with a medal awarded for such, has dueled with at least one other Mantis class warrior (green belt or higher) all whilst showing proficiency in at least one variety of weaponry. Obviously powerplaying should not be an issue.
Lep has already aclompished all of these. Exceeeeeept, she hasn't fought two Mantis yet! The Training Dojo isn't so far from here, so that's where she will be going. She got up, stretched her arms and legs, and stalks on over . . .
. . . Apon her arrival, no Manis were already there. It seemed as she had to advertise her
awaiting aproval. Placing her paws near her mouth, she yells. "I wish to challange a Mantis of any belt. For it is my wish to become one of them." |

((It's only one Mantis Lep, since we also require proficiency in at least one weapon. ))
A white woven scythe sliced through the ground as it barely missed Lep's nose, the woven tendrils attached to the end of it allowing the owner of this particular 'weapon' to make herself known without even needing to announce herself (which was quite convenient, as she couldn't actually do that anyway).
~Wish granted.~
Little Sister thought with a menacing grin as she twisted the scythe and yanked it back. If Lep didn't move fast enough she'd soon find herself headless. _________________ If I'm not here, I'm probably over at...

| Lep felt a sudden breese . . .kinda like something was charging after her neck. Quick reflexes took place as lep quicky turned around with the staff. Although her staff now had a dent in it, she was able to keep herself from getting killed. Lep then uses her free hand to swipe her sabre at LS back and forth. |

The scythe-like blade hit the side of Lep's staff with a clang, dinting it before the hair quickly unwove itself under the pressure. Little Sister would've been a bit annoyed about that, but she didn't really have time to be, as Lep had already begun a counter-attack.
Little Sister leaned back, easily avoided the swipes from Lep's sabre - having no spine does tend to lead towards a ridiculous amount of flexibility, something which Little Sister often took advantage of. The Rabcat's movements were very fast though, and she managed to slice several hairs from Little Sister's head as the Parasitian avoided the assault.
~Keh, plenty more where those came from...~ Little Sister thought to herself as she shifted her hair from one side to the other. Now her glowing Red Eye was exposed, allowing her to see inside the Rabcat known as Leporidae. Viewing the muscle movements of the mammal, she was able to get a decent idea of how it was moving, though it was still very fast. Sweeping outwards with a thick woven tendril, Little Sister aimed to trip her opponent to create an opening. _________________ If I'm not here, I'm probably over at...

((Oh, sorry, I didn't realize. Since I've mentioned 'create an opening' it's fairly obvious that my move is a trap - you can't move in mid-air so jumping, whilst probably the simplest way to react, wouldn't be so good, as then there's nothing to stop LS from surrounding you with hairs and skewering you like a pincushion (which was pretty much my plan, just by the by ).
Your best bet is probably to take the smaller hit and quickly move out of the way - this isn't the kind of hit meant to cause damage, so there's no major repercussions in using it. Either use the hit to backflip/roll away or if Lep's not that agile just make a quick recovery. Alternatively you could block the sweep with your staff/saber and then counter with your saber/staff (alternating depending upon which you use).
To counter, you'll need to keep in mind that LS now has the Red Eye in play, so she'll be able to see your muscle movements. Since you're an unfamiliar species, it's a fair bet that if you do something different to what you've previously been doing you'll probably catch her off-guard and score a hit of some kind.
Hope this all kinda helps, even if I am kind of spoonfeeding you a bit )) _________________ If I'm not here, I'm probably over at...

((Alright. I just got a idea. Thanks, 3kul.))
Lep, sadly, was too busy trying to hit LS to notice the moving trendil. She tripped and fell over belly flop style. To stop herself, she placed her paws infront of her, so only her hands, knees, and feet took impact. To counter the fall, she quickly tried to hit LS's head with her feet and the rock-end of her staff. With her paws keeping her propped up. |

((I'm a little confused by that last post - supporting yourself with your front paws and kicking out with your back legs, what is holding the staff? I'd make an actual post, but I'm really not sure how you're hitting me here )) _________________ If I'm not here, I'm probably over at...

((That's ok, thanks for clearing that up for me.))
Little Sister smirked, spotting the tensing and coiling of Lep's leg muscles - even an idiot could see that this meant that she'd soon be on the receiving end of one hell of a kick if she didn't move quick enough.
As she was about to duck however, a solid jab to her forehead sent her somersaulting backwards. A small shriek of annoyance escaped LS' lips as she righted herself back up as quickly as she could manage, now a small distance away from the Rabcat. ~That damn staff!~ Little Sister thought, quickly switching back to her regular eye. The Red Eye only specialized in seeing through organic things - she'd be able to dodge Lep's movements with it in use, but she was blind to both of Lep's weapons.
~Alright, let's try a different strategy...~ Little Sister quickly formulated a new plan of action, and wove a dozen thin tendrils into harpoon-shaped blades. Almost all of them were thrust towards Lep from a variety of front-on angles, however, two were shifted to behind Little Sister's back, in anticipation of a future attack.
((As you can see, the staff had a very good chance of hitting LS like that, disguised with the kick. Clever move Lep )) _________________ If I'm not here, I'm probably over at...

| Lep was surprised by this and didn't have much time to react. To try and dodge the trendils, she somersaults backwards. All but two harpoon trendils missed. Those two aimed for her chest, only to get stuck in Lep's thick red lifejacket. Although now even the slightest jerk may tear it, she has a plan of her own. She takes off her lifejacket ((Don't worry, there's nothing but fur there)) and swings it suddenly to the side, in attempt to throw off/unbalance LS. |

Little Sister is partially thrown aside, but manages to balance herself out in mid-air somehow. If Lep were to look back to where Little Sister was originally standing, she'd see that the Parasitian had buried two of her tendrils into the ground, and like tree roots they were holding her pretty well in place.
Pulling on the woven harpoons that were now stuck in Lep's lifejacket, Little Sister hoped to continue the same movement that Lep had been exerting to reverse it, and drag the Rabcat off her feet. Several of the woven harpoons that missed whipped back towards Little Sister, and she threaded them together into a pair of large vicious-looking claws. _________________ If I'm not here, I'm probably over at...

((With LS, every fight is a fight to the death
No, it's just a spar, but I suppose since we're using weapons it seems a little more deadly. You won't be receiving any major wounds or anything like that in this thread, given that it's just an evaluation of your skills, I'm just trying to force you to use your weapons more )) _________________ If I'm not here, I'm probably over at...
