Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence or A.I. was developed by the GORONs in 2378 (and possibly by other groups in alternate realities). The process of creating an AI is different than most people realize. Instead of simply "programming" an AI, the AI matrix is actually created by sending electric bursts through the neural pathways of a human brain which are then replicated in a superconducting nano-assemblage. This destroys the original brain tissue however, and so the brain being used could only be obtained after the host had died. However, in some instances, the candidate brain was flash-cloned and had it's memories transferred to the recepticle organs so that the host, could remain alive.

Most AIs give themselves a unique appearance that corresponds to their main use. "Smart" AIs, or AIs that are not confined to their one purpose, have a normal operational life span of about seven years. Because the "smart" AI is subject to an established memory core which cannot be replaced, the more the AI collects data, the less "thinking" space it has to work with. An AI literally "thinks" itself to death. "Dumb" AIs do not have this problem as they do not learn anything that is outside of their set limits of dynamic memory processing matrix. They are quite useful in their particuar field of expertise, but very limited. Smart AIs can function and learn as long as they are active.

It is technically unclear exactly how an AI works, as it is only based on the functionality of a human brain, which most scientists do not fully understand. AIs do not have physical bodies, rather they are advanced software consisting of a Riemann Matrix for higher-function processing. This matrix can be downloaded into a Data Crystal Chip for mobility. In case of Rampancy, the Riemann matrix has a fail-safe program that will destroy the AI.


Energy Shield

The GORON energy sheild is currently in use by all GORON forces within the Blackstar Dojo (give or take a few). It's general purpose is protect the wearer from harm, weather that be energy, projectile, or something else. A continued assualt from any weaponary will eventually cause the shield to deactivate, and it must be allowed time before it can regenerate.

The sheild itself is contained around the wearer via an electromagnetic field emitter within the console, generally conforming to the user's shape within a few inches. When not under fire, the shield is invisible to everyone.

If the energy shield comes under fire from a potentially damaging particle, the field's magnetic field absorbs the projectile and disperses it throughout the user's shield. Any plasma or laser energy is stored in the console until the shield has a chance to regenerate. Solid projectiles (such as bullets) are broken down into their elementary particles upon contact, but this too takes energy.

For an unknown reason, the electromagnetic field clashes with select other frequencies. This has it's benefits such as rendering the GORONs immune to mind control broadcasting systems. Unfortunately this feature also caused the failure of the GORON wrist console FM radio, allowing the GORONs only to recieve the EC's special broadcasts of Fort's solos.


Beam Sword

The GORON beam sword, while seemingly old fashioned, has proved to be invaluable in combat operations. The sword is comprised of the very same technology as the energy shield, using magnetic fields to take shape. However, with the energy sword the magnetic field contains a concentrated amount of plasma which is concentrated within the range of the field.

This superheated plasma has the ability to slice through any material, be it solid or energy shield. However, when it comes into contact with a target, some of the plasma is lost in the impact. While regeneration is not a problem, it is instantaneous, it does take an amount of energy to do so. Constant use will cause the battery to be depleted, rendering the sword useless until the battery recharges.

While the sword is known to be able to extend up to 6' and be used as a lance, this is impractical as it consumes energy very quickly. Studies have shown that the most efficient length of the sword, balancing length and energy consumption comes from length of 2' 11.756". Most GORONs just use 3'.

Alternate Reality Time:

Most of these features are included on the Psychotopian Armband, which in principle is very similar to the Goron Wrist-console.

A difference is that their energy sword is created by reconfiguring the shields into a sword shape, where as the Goron's energy sword appears to be a completely different technology base from their shields.

These features though, AI and the Energy shield/sword, are linked to the Psychotopian Armband's main function: Generating Warp Portals. Warp Portals need a ring to stabalize them, and keep them from destroying cities/worlds/solar systems/galaxies (the size varies with the instability). In the armband, to accomplish it's function as a portable Portal generator, it uses a shield generator to formt he stabalizing ring. The sheild technology also let's the operator input the energy matrix more precisely, thus allowing for a more accurate jump. However, because of the precision needed to align the energy matrix properly, an AI assistant is needed to help direct the energy.

Carbine of Infinite Fears



The Carbine of Infinite Fears was created at the GORON laboratories in Blackstar after the conclusion of the first Corporate War. The Carbine itself has a special property which charges all of it's ammo with an electric pulse. The theory was that the pulse would modify its target's nueral structures so that the victim would halucenate their deepest fears, effectively rendering them threatless.

However, the complexity of the brain and the variety of which it comes in generates problems to the extent that each blast would need to be calibrated to fit the target, a process which could take days or weeks. This was solved by the creation of Goron's AI, Allisa. She is able to determine the exact calibration in seconds. Without her, the device is useless.
