I enjoy reading people's stories, won't bother with my own, too boring, too generic, told too many times. _________________ I LIVE. |

I joined about the same time as DP.
I actually had my first encounters with Creatures back when Petz 4 was the new everything. They had a demo of Creatures Adventures on the CD.
I did not find creatures itself until 2003-ish, when I joined the Grove (I did not know of Gameware or anything back then). So, technically, I am a Grove native. _________________ Shaon Galatea -- Artist | Musician | Radio DJ | Voice Actor | Writer |

I'm in the same boat as Fort is...
*pokes a hole in it*
Besides, my story's so long, and 3/4 of it has succumb to the memory-corrupting effects of the modern education system. |

Ah, I am sorry to hear about the slow downfall of A2K's RP forum. I really am. I would have finished (read: continued) CUS: BA2 with all of you gladly if it weren't for this damn pc *kicks pc* and everyone telling me RPing is a waste of time (I disagree, but they'll never get it).
I have been on Gameware a couple times since problems, and even when I was trying to start/take part in interesting RPs I got a little interest from good RPers (Panther and Seph mainly), or, a lot of interest from the ones that need one hell of a lot of work (Leanne, lwfooster and menelvagor come to mind). And that's it.
Ah, stories now? Hmmm, let me see... The history of my RPing? Or the history of me and Creatures.
How 'bout I tell you both?
Bizarrely, Creatures actually starts first. The first time I ever heard about Creatures was from my friend, who loved C1 and C2. Then, I came across an article about C3, and decided 'Hey, this is really interesting'.
Of course, could I find it anywhere? Nope, nowhere at all. While disappointed, I eventually forgot about it.
Finished school, then went to College.
At College, I eventually met GBE. GBE then proceeded to introduce me to RPing, at a msn group who call themselves X-Men Unlimited. I picked up after study through rules etc, and made DM. She was my first ever RP character. During the two years I remained at XU, I made quite a few other characters, usually when someone complained about something.
Most often it was 'there are no bad guys, all anyone ever does is hang around. It's boring', so up pops bad guys... who promptly get ignored. Another was 'why doesn't anyone play a human?' while I could think of several answers to that, up pops a human! (stopped the complaining for a little while).
I think I stopped after the two years because of the arguing between members and managers, I couldn't be doing with it. However I did still keep all my accounts active for some reason.
Sometime around the second year of college (I think), I am going on holiday with my parents. We are going to Cyprus, and we go in one of those duty free shops. I recently got a GBA, so have a look at their tiny games collection. And what should I find but Creatures GBA! It is quickly snapped up, as I had never seen it before (or since) and it hooked me.
While looking for help about what to do with certain GBA Norns of mine, I remember a site I once came across years ago, by the name of Albia2000. I have a look around, and eventually sign up.
While on A2K, what should I find but an RPG Section? I couldn't believe it. Message board based as well, which I much preferred to XU's main staple of chatroom RPing (since timezones are far less of a factor so you get a much more enjoyable experience).
Again, I hung around a bit. I found out about Docking Station by accident as well. A free, 'proper' Creatures game and I'd never heard of it. This was immediately downloaded and then my Creatures library began to grow.
After a few failed attempts at restarting my RPing passion at A2K, I started up CUS: BA. To my great surprise, it was a great success. Which then re-ignited my long-lost passion.
The first time I heard of Gameware, or the Evil Council was on A2K, when Narmie posted the 'Come and help us fight the EC!' (can't remember the exact title) post. It was EC vs GW of course.
Addman also started up an RP in A2K, which looked fun and allowed me to dust off DM for the first time in two years. I think, not too long after that I signed up to the public site and began posting in Gameware. How fitting for the first of my original characters to be the first yet again, and the first of my evil characters to be the one I put on an EC site?
And, well, most of you know the rest. My DS Worlds are as numerous as ever, and my RPing experience has never been better.
Imagine how surprised and intrigued I was that I had created one char with the ability of limited illusions, and one who was completely insane four years ago, before I even knew Shaon and DP existed. A Goddess of Illusion, and a Spirit, now God, of Insanity. I find this rather spooky.
Now you shall have to rest your eyes from my insanely long post _________________ Baker of the radioactive three-eyed flying purple cookie eating brownies!
