Idiocy. Foolish idiocy. The ally turns to enemy with a single failure of scheme.

Ending these might be a blessing after all.

Yet I am still in need of allies.

My eyes are cool as steel, as empty as the sea.

They focus on this Panther creature. We are vis-a-vis.

Fist closes firmly / her shoulders in my grip / I could break her any second.

You only live now because the solitary animal dies while the pack flourishes.

I release her gently. Like a petal riding gaily on the surface tension of a lazy pond.

She is safe now.
And as is the gauntlet.
Wrapped around my hand like a cuttlefish on its prey.

I sniff the air, my senses catching whiffs of auras and places.

The dog stench of the Cerberi behind me. My Wapmhyri allies putrid musk. The healthy, athletic sweat of the Furred Man. The Wolf-THing's venom and indifference. And Panther's singed anger and burnt pride.

More greet those. The Lion. A man in the heart of the matter. Other things, faint and odd and alien.

"Proceed this way. A stone heart beats; awaiting its destiny.
A gauntlet and sword to pierce it through. A moon to hold back."

A god to kill

"Destiny awaits."

Panther frowns, visably confused. "What the heck does that mean?" She said. "I know my friend Kiri could probably figure it out, but I'm stumpted, you holy jerk." She added, finding enough strength to restrain herself from going into a rage and killing everyone. She took a deep breath and sighed.

((Drlupinmario - we've already got the Sanity Blade, so, you could edit your post, or we could play it as if what happened to you was a booby trap to protect the central altar. But we can't really have two folks with a Sanity Blade.))

Whiteoak watches his hand-held device as Obed's data updates his map. He knows the way there, but his mounting distrust of the recent events gives him pause.....

?Does he share this information?

He would rather be more sure about the Evil Angel's intentions, but the moon grows closer as he hesitates.

He calls to the Evil Angel:

"Esteemed One, if we are to join forces to save this world, I want your promise of personal safety for all of the adventurers in this maze; that you will not bring us harm should we succeed in staying the moon."

"What the heck does that mean?" Panther asks.

My stomach grins at her necience. Destiny is what you choose to make of it.

The furred man who SHINES looks upon me with apprehension. He is a wise one, this.

and the moon falls closer still

I swear by the gauntlet I possess.
No harm shall befall you or yours.
So long as it is mine, I will lay down no blow against you.
Nor for your fellows.
Just so long as it is in my keeping.
Is that not just and righteous?"

Kazumaru finally reached the commotion, and quickly didn't figure out what was going on.

After some slight hesitation, he turned around, and ran for a bit. Hell if he was gonna die in this.

Drlupinmario is getting pissed at The evil angle, and decides to take what he came to the maze for. Greed overtaking him, he Aims pistol at Whitoak and his minigun at the Angel's head. "Heres an idea, Shut up, Drop the gauntlet and the sword, And I dont shoot. Got it?"

Panther's nostrils flared. DLM can't hold three guns... Her fur sucked itself in, leaving her with blue skin. A murky green diamond pattern made itself known on her hide. Scales soon sprouted from head to toe and her paws turned into long, daggar-like claws. Her maw sealed itself off and four swept-back horns burst from the top of her skull. Both ears became more draconic and migrated to the back of her head, just under the horns. Flaps of membrane hid themselves under her reptilian arms. She amazed herself at how fast the transformation was done.

~Wanna try to uchitomeru now, kusotare?~ She shouted in mind-speak; she would be smirking if she had a mouth.

Syui reached up to his spines and pulled two off, feeling more regrow immediately, aiming the broken spines at DLM, he growled,
"Drop the gun reptile."

Drlupinmario Turns on the pistol lazersight, and quickly aims and shoots off one of the broken spines that are aimed at him. "Now, Give them here"

((I think that DrLM is confused, he isn't anywhere near Whiteoak, the Evil Angel or the others who just responded to him. Last I understood things, he was at the main central altar with Obed and Linda, which is not where this current action is taking place. Evil Angel etc, are at a separate place where the gauntlet was found.

Unless I understand things wrong, the three places we had to get to were all different places.

One group, found the gauntlet, (place #1)

Obed, Linda, DrLM, and ?Net? found the sword, (place #2)

and then they went on to find the main central altar (place #3)
where we have to place the relics to activate something to stop the moon.

Is that what you folks think too?))
