Beyond the Rift

[Rin]

It was a normal day down at the Dojo, with the birds calling, animals scurrying around and gathering food, explosions coming from the lower quarters of the Dojo.

Seph and Rin were experimenting with some potions, Seph was trying to make a potion that could warp items, such as lead into gold, basic transfiguration, Rin was running around gathering ingredients, and they both had black faces from the amount of dust and soot that had exploded into the air from their failed attempts, they were both in a large laboratory sort of place, with benches, bookshelves, cases and vials lying everywhere, scorch-marks hung on the walls and it was very murky and smokey.

Seph: It’s the purple bottle, the one on the far right shelf!
Rin: I know, you’ve told me twice already
Seph: Well, Hurry up! This mixture is very unstable! Might I remind you what happened last time you mixed up some of my potions?
Rin: * Snigger * No, But, Hilarious as it was…
Seph: Shut up Rin…

The Potion was glowing slightly in its pot as Seph stirred it in a clockwise motion, as Rin added the ingredient, it turned slightly green and began moving around the surface, in a ripple.

Seph: Well…that’s not supposed to happen…
Rin: You know, I always hate it when you say that…

Seph looked into the potion, his strands of hair almost touching the concoction, Seph dipped a vial into the potion carefully and scooped some out before corking it.

Seph: Well, Ready to try?
Rin: On what? The lead?
Seph: Nothing else to, unless you are volunteering?
Rin: Lead it is then!

Seph uncorked the vial, a strange smell wafted out, he threw it in front of himself at the large bar of lead in front of Rin., it landed on thin air and ran down, as if an invisible wall.

Seph: Well…that’s not supposed to happen…
Rin: I really really hate it when you say that….

And after the chat, a large rip appeared where the water had splashed, ripping outwards like a crude scratch with a knife, Seph and Rin both took two steps back as it expanded, sending ripples through the air that no doubt others would feel and come to, as the transfiguration took place, Seph himself changed, becoming the spindly limbed Demon-King Zamiel.

Zamiel: Well, that really isn’t supposed to happen.

Rin turned and looked towards the rip in the dimensions, he wondered how long it would be before help came from the Dojo.

CITYS:

Alchanthos:
The port city of Alcanthos has long been a place where all may live in peace together without the threat of attack from the Karlakian or Reikzen armys, however due to strong loyaltys by some occasional arguements and fights are both inevitable and unavoidable, as such certine laws have been put in place to keep these to a miminum. This city has a japanese feel to it and houses the largest population of the three coastal citys

-all within the walls of Alcanthos are expected to respect one another reguardless of heritige, any problems may be settled in the arena

Alcanthian Defenders (military)- This is the Military of Alcanthos, their goals are to protect the city at all costs

Lunae- goddess of the night and water, lady of the moon

This gothic city is reminicent of medival europe and has long served as a safe haven for its people with its high stone walls. The people here live a slightly harsher life due to the rain and almost raids by the Karlakian military, along with the Shining blade, however they seem to be much closer nit than most people are and over the years have become adept with both spell and sword. The commen dress here are dark clothing, and most men have a sword worn at all times. this towns entire water supply comes from underground springs

-dueling is permitted, however magic is forbidden outside the arena
-stealing is forbidden
-murder is forbidden
-vandalism is forbidden
-all may wear swords

guilds:
-Military- this is the Reikzen military, their main focus is defending the city
-Lunar Knights- This privatly founded guild is made of up those Reikzen who have decided to take up arms to defend the innocent and defend their home land, it was founded in 347 A.C. by a group of farmers and soldiers after a raid by the Karlakian military

Karlakticus:
This roman style city is surronded bt thick stone walls and trys to keep a large enough military force for both offence against the Reikzens and defence from thevarious monsters and abominations that inhabit the lands outside. The people of Karlakticus are very religious and willingto accept anyone who dose not appear to be aligned with the Reikzen, they generaly wear bright cloths and local law only permits those of noble status to wear armor or weapons within the walls of the city

laws:
-all Reikzen (other than diplomats) must swear fealty to the Lord upon entering the city
-stealing from a rank higher than you is forbidden, though you may do what you wish(within reason) with those of lower rank
-dueling is permitted for those who hold a rank of noble or higher
-a peasent who strikes one of noble rank or higher becomes the property of that person if he or she so chooses
-anyone of a higher rank than you may raise your rank to any below theirs if they so choose
-murder is forbidden
-no trespassing
-no vandalism
-only nobles or higher may wear a weapon within the city walls at any time
-you may not wear the colors of any class above yours

guilds:
-Military- This is the Karlakian army, charged by the lord with defending the city and hunting down Reikzen that stray from their protective walls
-Shining Blade- The fighters guild of Karlakticus, some say that is has been around since the city was founded as there is no record of when or why it was created, like the Lunar Knights this is a privatly founded guild and as such the missions and jobs avalable are up to the current leader

-Slave/brown and black

the color of armor (of any type) dose not matter exept that only the lord may have gold and/or white on his actual armor, any cloth showing however, capes for example, are still under the law

Zamiel looked at his morphing effects, his limbs began to change and become thinner and metallic looking, they grew sharp points and hooks, looking like something made crudely with steel and barbed wire, he raised his hands to his face, looking at them they became thinner, more slender, and sharper, his fingers grew into points at the nail, growing into claws, his face became covered in the metal plate, becoming a mask with a single red slit on the left side to act as an eye, a design was scratched onto the front, where his mouth should be, the cloak he was wearing inked from black to a deep crimson colour, his breathing became deep and screeched in a metallic-sounding voice.*

"Thisss iss not good...not good at all..."

He grew horns, not long, and not big, but deadly sharp, they pointed out from where his temple should be and along his forehead, as it finished, he got an ache in his head, he lay his claws on the table, they began to melt through it like a hot knife through butter with a slight hissing sound, he drew his hand away quickly, his vision darkened, and he began to see heat instead of light, he turned to Rin once more.

"Sssomehow, I think that the potion wass a little....faulty..."

[Rin]

Rin turns back to Zamiel with his head tilted to the side, "you know, for a minute there i thought i was the only one who thought that" he jokes, trying to make the best of the situation before staring back into the large rift before them. "so um... any idea where this thing goes?" he says as ge grabs a long matallic rod to poke it with

[Sephirothsicase]

The Metallic rod is pulled out of his hands and forced into the rift.

"No real idea in hell...But I have no doubt in my mind that we will find out..sssoon enough..."

He took a look around the room.

"..Jusst assss soon as more people get here..."

[Rin]

Rin blinks as the rod is pulle from his hand. "yeah.... if we go now we might end up surrounded by balor or somthing...." he says sarcasticly, then realizes that his comment had unnerved him slightly

[Sephirothsicase]

Zamiel began looking around the rift, it only showed on the side they were looking at, it was not possible to view it from the other side, he heard a sharp metal clang as he looked behind him, Ajaxon was trying to get out of a cage, the little blue horse looked shaken.

"Aah hah!"

He laughs in a very Egor type voice, and pokes the small horse.

"Now, what was I doing to you? Oh yes, We had better finish before your mother gets here, maybe your powers could help difuse this potential threat..."

He brandishes a large Syringe, and lines it up with the small horses neck...

[Embri]

Embers huffed, trotting down YET another corridor. First that stupid talking door had worked his ear off, now the whole house seemed to be set up to deliberately get people lost.... and knowing Seph, that was exactly right.

Delivery bag slung over his shoulder, Embers turned down what seemed to him like the thousandth hallway, when he felt something lurch. Pausing, the unisus laid back his ears and sent out a tendril of thought. It wasn't a physical lurch... something or someone had just splashed through the delicate framework of power that underlay the fabric of the world.

"Damn humans and their damnable experiments." The stallion snorted, showing teeth. He zeroed in on the disturbance, finally entering a room with two occupants.

"What in all the thousnd god's names are you two doing?!?" Embers stared at the rift, stomping his hooves in irritation.

"Idiocy... and I've got a delivery for one Sephina. So pay up. NOW."

[Sephirothsicase]

The form of Zamiel turned around and loomed at the slightly-bigger-yet-smaller-than-him horse and prodded him in the head.

"Who iss thiss Sssephina of which you ssspeak?! I am the Demon King! Ssshow some damned respect mortal, lest I carve out your eyess and use them as desserts for your son...."

He jabs a pointed finger at the cage.

"Damned Horses..."

He prods a finger through the portal and begins flipping at the edges, they fold in on themselves as if they are made out of paper.

"Thisss iss most sstrange..."

[Rin]

Rin stares blankly at the horse that had just stormed into the room, this tilting his head to the side says "you can talk?". This wasent new to him just... rare.

[Jent]

((I'll give a clue(s) about Natu's Demon soon, Maybe here. ))

*Natu has been not feeling well, the demon inside himself is getting stronger. Soon the demon will control his entire body. One of the affects till that day, able to sense Vampires. Natu was being drag to where Embers, Rin, Zamiel, Sephina are located at with this new power. Arriving, he greets Embers, the best he could with this problem of his.*

"Hello Embers, I have no clue, but some how I was interested here than going outside, laying in the grass."

~I don't want any one to know the secret yet, I had to lie.~

[Embri]

"Yeah, I can talk. What's it to you, pink skin?" Embers snorted. "And I could care less what you do with the brat. He's just a colt. Play with him, eat him, turn him loose, I really don't care. "

Embers stomps his hoof in annoyance. "Look dude, I've got a delivery for this address. I don't care who you are. You want this stuff? Pay me. And from the looks of things, you're gonna need some artillery pretty damn soon... or are you both too dense to recognize a world rift?"

[Sephirothsicase]

Zamiel annoyingly taps the horse on the head hard with a dull "Clunking" sound each time.

"Idiocy! This is not a normal Rift! This is ripping holesss in time and sspace as we know it!"

The Demon-King rubs his hands in glee, the mark on his face tightens and curves, looking like a cruel and wicked smile.

"What fun thisss will wreck on peoples livess..."

Zamiel looks over at the newcomer, the slit for his left eye tightens and glows, the horns on his head lower down, it looks as if it is a horrid frown>

"And jusssst....What...exactly...are you?"

He jabs a pointy finger at Natu.

[Embri]

"Fine, fine, normal rift, not normal rift... what's the diff?" Embers looks bored. He yanks a package out of his satchel, and waves it under Zamiel's nose.

"You. Ugly. Want this? Pay the horsy!"

[Sephirothsicase]

Zamiels turns away from Natu to look at Ember.

"You sstupid little horssse..."

He raises his hand, the metal molds together and takes the shape of a large Axe-head.

"Ssshow some damn resspect, lesst you loose the abilty too..."

He snatches the parcel out from his hands and places it into a draw before slamming it shut.

"Ill let you keep your feeble life, for what itsss worth to you..."

he turns slowly back to Natu.

[Rin]

Rin swallows as he watches the argument breaking out in the lab, then turns his atention back to the rift as though he were waiting for somthinghorrific to step out. "you know.... maybe now isent such a good time to be arguing....." he says in a quiet tone
