Volunteers to help with training

Is there any specific selection process, or if not, when/where do we start?

Yeah the plan is that people will decide they want training and they'll look through the list and contact someone they think could help them.

But if you know of someone who you think would benefit from your help feel free to contact them as well.

And once the belts system is in place there will probably be more people looking for training to help them overcome the tests.

Panther, by all means put what I put as a speciality. The more of us there are, the more option a member has. I'm happy for you to have it as a speciality. I only chose it since most of my characters seem to have some kind of animalistic skill or something. Well, I say most, a fair few do.

*Is patted* S'okay, I once went on a roleplaying board that was specifically for rping shapeshifting characters. It was overflooded by spambots and shut down, though. But that means there are plenty of animal-type characters out there, eh? *grins* The more, the merrier.

I would like to volenteer for this sort of thing. But, I don't exactly know what I can specifly in and teach to others, though. And I'm preatty sure anything I specialise in is already taken. But still, I would like to help. I would be using eather Lep or Feline, and what-ever subatutes they get in the winter hibernation if I were to start training.

Edit: I just thought of a possible idea. Lets see, I think I'll specialise in sword tequniqes, flight,
and syndrome adaption.

Lep (and anyone else) you can just opt for general training.

Basically meaning people can approach you if they want to practice RP'ing as a whole rather than one specific thing.
Like if someone decides to join who's never RP'ed before, or as Net said someone who's used to DnD or another highly rule-based format and doesn't know how to go about it here.

And just because someone has chosen something as their speciality doesn't mean you can't pick it as well.
In fact it could be better that way. Then if someone leaves, is on holiday, is too busy or whatever there's still someone avalible for training.

Are we open to more categories? If we are, I would propose "Multiple Character Control" for anything from your main character and his grendel sidekick, up to a whole army with strategy and tactics... I wonder who we could put in charge of that...

I volunteer to exercise my right not to volunteer. Why should I play nursey-maid and baby those who are beneath me? Must I lower myself from my perch to teach them to rise to it? If they desire such a thing themselves, they ought to demonstrate it by fighting to reach so high. There is no point in me simply giving away my secrets freely when when a learner could instead create their own secrets instead.

That being said, I would be willing to take under my wing those whom I see as pleasing to mine eye. But never forget: beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

There's no rule to say you have to participate in training. Otherwise I wouldn't have asked for volunteers, I'd have just added everyone to the list.

In part I do agree with you. I think experience is one of the bestteachers there is. On the other hand I remember when I was first starting out, I had no idea what I was doing and I would have loved to have had someone teach me, at least the basics.
My earliest attempts at RPing consisted of posting to let people know I was there and hoping someone would make me do something.
