Honestly why are you trying butt-kissing? If it didn't work for Carlton from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air then why would it work in real-life?

Hurray! It's over!

I had to admit that reading this topic was pretty frightening until that creeping suspicious side of me made me double check. Argblbbl! It was an Evil C0uncil Pl0t of D00m! Think it'd be fun to play long, I added this post to add to the chaos.

Fortunately, it has run its course, and we can all get back to the Role Play. The original Corporate Development, anyone?

Before we go any further I must say, GOTCHA!

That's right folks. I am nothing but a tool of the EC, and this has all been an elaborate prank. There was no angry parents, no Mr. Paige, and certainly, no child cruelty.

I must say before I go, the way you all defended the dojo so valiantly is remarkable to say the least, and you should all be proud. You all have bonded so well and are really behind the dojo, I feel sorry for anyone who dares to take on Blackstar! Such resolve is always a positive thing.

I shall bid you all fair well, and I hope that you continue to RP here even more so than ever before. RPing isn't evil, it isn't wrong, and it certainly isn't a bad influence. It is a great release, and a chance to excersise parts of your personality which wouldn't otherwise be challenged.

*Mr. Paige transforms, and splits apart into around 30 small balls of light, which all line up and form into the members of the Evil Council*

YES! I had a feeling it was the evil council all along! Although I am a apprentice, I was never told that the evil council did this. It was just a good guess. Nice job! Keep up the good work!

Some may wonder why I did not post here. I tell you now, it is because I suspected a plot from the beginning. Once bitten, twice shy. If you do not believe me, ask SFOT. I told her of the possibility near the beginning, as this thread had so clearly upset her.

Congratulations to you all! You've managed to bully and alienate a young roleplayer, and all it took was an over-elaborate plot.

Honestly, what was the point?

Kazumaru, don't get so mad. I was angry when it was a prank, I thought blackstar would have to shut down. But I waited a bit to come down, although I don't know what Liofin will say.

The Evil Council, enjoying in wreaking some havoc, often has plots like these for its entertainment and the benefit of the community The purpose of the plot is to seed some dissention and chaos, create artificial issues against which the resolve of community test itself, and allow the community to get a better understanding of its values.

Normally intended for humour, sometimes the plots run unfortunately afoul with those they are intended to humourously jostle, as in this case. This isn't what the Council intends, and on behalf of the organization I give my appologies. This Bird was not involved with the spreading of the mischief, yet I feel it is my duty to appologise to those who were taken aback by it. My appologies.

Really, these pranks are quite useful for the community to help understand what it exactly stands for. I speak from experience when I say that there is no fate worse than not knowing what one actually is, that is to say what values one holds as true. The communities surroudning the Creatures series games- and, indeed, the offshoots of those communities - can be afflicted with such problems. By staging certain adversities, the community can learn how to deal with the pressures of conflict successfully, and strengthen as a result. By doing these schemes, the Evil Council in fact helps the communities it jokes with, ensuring that there is never stagnation, and allowing for everyone to come together. In the end, the Council may be evil, but it is a neccessary evil if the community is to grow and learn. And what better goal could ther be than that?

Your logic is as flawed as your spelling, old owl. This was nothing more than a prank, a few cheap laughs at the expense of those who took it seriously. This does not help the community, it merely spreads distrust and paranoia.

Well, I was about to fall about with laughter and glee, but it appears there are further discussions to be had. Oh dear.

Seriously, it was and is a laugh and a joke. You'll think back, later, and just think how silly this whole thing is. Yes, it tried and tested peoples patience. But it has proven that everyone will fight tooth and nail to keep their comunities.

So it can hardly be said that we haven't learnt from this. Some of the EC members honestly treated the parents as separate entities, and a few of our EC members, were, well fooled.... Razz

But, join me when I say, it's good for the heart, and good for the mind Wink

Then his logic must be almost perfect, for his spelling usually is. Try a better analogy next time Shadowveil Razz. Despite the fact that I'm obviously going to be biased in saying so, I disagree with you Shadowveil - are you honestly saying that there'd be no difference between how everyone would've reacted to a parental attack before and after this plot?

Meh, whatever, I'm not going to try and pick a fight or anything like that. You say that we were bullying, but it's not like we specifically targetted anyone or that you guys are weaker than us (be careful if you try to point out that you are Wink). In any case, we're not the Friendly Council or the Likable Council, we're the Evil Council. You're not supposed to like what we do. "What was the point?" A better question for you to think about might be "What wasn't the point?" Razz

Shadowveil. I cannot put the emotion I feel into words. To call our 'prank' an attempt at a few cheap laughs is not only offensive to me, it also goes against the very thing the council represents. Our plots never 'run afoul', as HisLordship put it. Our plots have always gone as planned. It is just that, on occasion, people like you and Yoshimasa take offence at our plots.

You can either learn to enjoy our plots and laugh at yourself for not spotting this fallacy sooner, as the rest of the community has done, or you can remain offended by our plots. I assure you, your individual opinion means naught to me.

I have done damage control before. Invariably, this is because people who have never experienced a plot before have taken it far too seriously. One must learn to laugh at themselves within this community, for unless you do the community and indeed life in general will be a harsh journey.

I understand your taking offense at our plot. I hope you can learn to enjoy the next plot we concive.

To the community in general I address my next statement: You over-reacted. Big-time. If a parent ever, and I mean EVER came onto these forums with a request like this, I would have expected better from you.

RPing is not the mainestream, so there will be people who do not understand it. The only way to deal with a problem such as the one presented by us would be to help the parent understand it, instead of taking offence at their actions.

Indeed, if they still wanted to remove their child from our community even after we had explained our purpose, I would have hoped that you would have respected that. It is not our responsibility nor indeed our right to dictate how a parent brings up their child, no matter what our individual opinion is. To presume that we do have a right is to presume that I have the right to take your child from you and teach them that killing black people is good. Our individual views do not override the parent's right to control what their child is exposed to.

I can only hope that next time, this situation is dealt with better.

Perhaps I worded my last post a little too bluntly. If so, I am sorry for that. Nevertheless, I still think these events have done more harm than good. Note that I was not fooled by this, even at the beginning.

Regarding your comments on how this was handled by the community, I do not recall anyone arguing against a parent's right to remove their child from the forums. It was suggested many times that they do this, rather than wage a spam war. The situation only began to worsen at the suggestion that Mr. Paige was a child abuser. That is a serious matter, and goes beyond personal opinion on bringing up a child.

I over-reacted slightly too. I talked to Liofin, and she said she's *slightly* annoyed. As has been said, child abuse is nothing to joke about.

Not to mention any charecter similar to Fred Phelps angers me.

Hahaha, suuuure you weren't fooled Shadowveil. Razz Seriously though, if you weren't fooled, why didn't you just expose us? Or at least announce your suspicions. You aren't really obliged to help us in any way since you aren't a member, and it's not like anything bad would've happened to you if you were right (which you would have been).

Uncle Asriel figured it out pretty quickly, though he decided to play along with us, which added to the chaos quite a bit XD. Heaps of other people seem to have found the amusing side of this, so I don't see why you'd now want to try and start up arguments and such about it.

Of course, child abuse is nothing to joke about, but knowing what you do now, try looking over some of Paige's old posts again. I think you'll find that he's more of an absurd and laughable character than an infuriating one.
