*There is a pristine looking house of medium build, that looks no different to the other houses that line the street. It has two stories, the top half being a bedroom and bathroom, the bottom being the usual living room, dining room and kitchen. Despite it's outward appearance of modesty, inside lives a very important person*
*Laur Wilkins sits on a comfortable sofa within her living room, her legs drawn up onto it as she stares unseeing at the television set on the other side of the room. Cabinets and tables were tastefully placed around the room, with elegant looking lamps, clocks and ornaments adorning the polished wooden surfaces. On the walls there hung pictures of Laurs childhood, spent with her twin brother Leon, as well as a few professional portraits and those of school years*
*Laur switches the tv off, not quite remembering what it is they were talking about. She'd thought to cheer herself up a bit but all it had done was served to make her more depressed. Dressed smartly but casually, Laur wore black trousers with a white T-shirt, her gun as ever was kept by her side*
*She holds a picture up to her face to look at the picture of the last birthday she'd ever had and truly enjoyed, both Leon and her parents were there. She'd cut off all communication with her family since finding out she was a freak, too ashamed to face them. And as far as she was concerned, Leon, her Leon was dead and would never come back. The opposite that had come from the mirror lake was not hers, and she labelled him as an impostor*
*Sighing she put the picture back down on the small table next to her, she didn't know why she bothered booking today off anymore, it didn't mean anything anymore*
Happy Birthday to me...
*Laur muttered under her breath. She was thirty years old today* _________________ The shot you hear is the one you don't have to worry about

Across the street, a black car with tinted windows pulls up, just a few houses down the street. For a few minutes, absolutely nothing happens, until a door opens. After a few further tense seconds, a cane taps the pavement.
Till steps out of the door, his chauffer holding it for him. He tidies his suit up, not his usual work suit, but slightly smarter, and recently pressed. Clearing his throat, the chauffer closes the door, and climbs back into the drivers seat.
Till walks down the road, taking the quite mundane little street in, remembering the details of it, who was walking where. He stops and turns, facing Laurs house from across the road, stood near to a tree, his black offset against the green and brown. Looking both ways, he walks across the road, attempting to keep the tap, tap, tap of his cane quiet.
He walks down the side of the house, down a little private alleyway made from the wall of the house, and a lush green hedge. He reaches the back, and the size of the garden appears to be average compared to the zize of the house. It looks well landscaped, considering that Laur very rarely seemed to go home.
He turns and faces the back door, after peering through a window, taking notice of the interior of the kitchen, at least his sattelites, and his 'private dectectives' had been accurate. Lifting the cane, he taps gently, but loud enough to be heard on the door and takes a few steps back, his cane slightly ahead of him on the ground now.
He tenses himself, and makes himself look as impressive as he can, again straightening his suit... _________________ There is a fate worse than death. It is not me, no. But, I can try... |

*Laur is startled by the sound of tapping on her backdoor, and quickly gets up off the sofa. Her senses hadn't warned her to anyone's presence, she guessed her mood might be affecting her*
*That and the fact she wasn't expecting anyone compelled her to bring her gun with her as she approached the backdoor through the kitchen*
*Taking a deep breath, Laur carefully opens the door and peers through a crack. The fact that Till was standing there made her eyes widen and she opened the door fully as she regained her composure*
Till! I wasn't expecting anyone
*Laur briefly takes in the look of his suit, and the fact he was somehow making himself look more impressive than usual before stepping aside to allow him to pass*
Please, come in. _________________ The shot you hear is the one you don't have to worry about

*Down a good ways on the street, it starts to sprinkle. As the raindrops hit the ground, they bounce up rather than spread out, each landing in a predetermined place to start to the form of a walking figure. After a few minutes, the rain stops, but Au'Marui continues to walk, a package firmly under his arm.
Although this was a "good will" mission outside his normal realm, he couldn't deny himself the chance to do a little more meddling with her mind. It was his job, after all.
As we walks, his form and fashion shifts to that of a delivery man, still carrying the package. He takes some shades out of a newly formed pocket, and puts them on to hide his still glowing eyes.
It is about this point he reaches Laur's front door, and knocks as he checks the package and attached card, waiting for her response* _________________

Till smiles and nods, and enters into Laurs kitchen, wiping his shoes on the floor mat, although, there would be nothing on his shoes. He was careful like that.
Lookin around the kitchen, it was a farily basic kitchen with basic amenities. Laur obviously doesn't spend a lot of time here. As he enters the main room, he looks around, and again, kind of plain and basic, with the occasional red element.
He spies a cabinet on one side of the room, full with a variety of guns through the ages, classics, excellent guns, and the ocasiona useless yet iconic guns. He was impressed with her collection. She always knew what she was talking about when it came to guns.
In another part of the room, there's another cabinet, with a few crossbows a few short bladed weapons, some appearing to have been designed by someone with a mind to hurt, rather than kill. He was about to say something, when someone knocked at the front door. He looks at Laur, an eyebrow raised, "Expecting company?" _________________ There is a fate worse than death. It is not me, no. *Laur closes the backdoor, making sure to lock it before turning back and following Till into the living room through the kitchen. Her eyes narrow as she hears a knock on her front door, looking towards it as Till speaks*
No, not today
*Laur walks over to the front door, briefly regarding her gun before putting it in her pocket out of view. Openly threatening someone out in the street would not be good for her reputation in their own dimension*
*Laur carefully opens the door to see what appears to her to be a delivery man wearing sunglasses, and definitely not the usual one. She regards him, eyes drawn to the package he carried then back up at the sunglasses*
Surely it's not bright enough for that kind of protection? _________________ The shot you hear is the one you don't have to worry about |

Till walks over to the window, and moving one of the blinds, he peers out at the delivery man. In any case, Till would have presumed this man suspicious, but it was Laurs place of residence, he thought best not to interfere.
He walks to one of the couches, and sits down in it, resting his cane against its side and waits for Laur to finish her business. _________________ There is a fate worse than death. It is not me, no. But, I can try... |

*Laur takes the clipbard and scans the page, not quite believing him about the sunglasses but then again it was none of her business*
*She scans the page a second time before picking up the pen attached to the clipboard, making sure there was nothing hidden within the text that she'd miss. Quickly she signs, and pushes the pen and paper back to the god disguised as a delivery man*
If you don't mind, I have company...
*She lets the sentence hang in the air, and gestures behind her, wanting this to be a quick exchange* _________________ The shot you hear is the one you don't have to worry about |

The "Delivery Man" checks the signature, then satisfied with it, he hands over the box with the attached card
"Well, then, I'll let you get on with your day."
With that, the Delivery man turns and heads off to the right, supposedly heading back to his truck.
Once out of site, Dau'Pay drops his disguise and disappears into mist, probably heading back to the Dojo. _________________

*Laur tilts her head in acknowledgement as the 'delivery man' hands over the box and leaves, before closing the door as she turns*
*Laur heads into the room where Till was sitting, and carefully puts the package and card down on a small table that occupied the middle of the room*
*Laur regards the package momentarily, before picking up the card attached and opening it first* _________________ The shot you hear is the one you don't have to worry about |

*As she examined the card, these words seemed to appear as if someone was writing them right now, in a very neat cursive writing:
| The Sensei wrote: |
I know our two organizations have had it's differences, but when you feel like accepting your true nature, the Dojo will always be willing to accept a new teacher.
Happy Birthday,
The Sensei of Blackstar Dojo
P.S.
Your brother is not dead.

Till Doyle, still a man of many secrets had yet to reveal any to Laur. It was probably the only reason he had a power over her. He was getting a little impatient now, as he'd made a few plans for this day, and expected Laur to be caught a little off gaurd.
Standing up, he walks to the door and places one of his large rough hands on Laurs shoulder. As he does, he peers over her shoulder, and reads the card. He hides a smile, he'd known for a long time he was still alive. But this may throw of his plans. He would personally thank The Sensei one day for this annoyance.
"Laur, are you, ok?" His breath would just glide over Laurs shouler. He slightly tenses his hand. _________________ There is a fate worse than death. It is not me, no. But, I can try... |

*Laur had been reading that last sentence on the card over and over again, for some reason unwilling to move. Or perhaps she was unwilling to believe it, after all the years, and he was still alive? Was The Sensei mocking her? But it didn't seem malicious...*
*Laurs train of thought is cut off as Till puts a hand on her shoulder, her entire body seizes up. This she knew was called the fight or flight response, and would only make you freeze if you didn't, or couldn't do either. Till had only touched her a couple of times before. Either when she was badly hurt and wouldn't have made it without his help, or when she'd made him mad enough to strike her*
*Laur lowers the card, as she hears his question. Feeling his breath near her shoulder and his hand tighten Laur forces herself to relax. Not so tense*
I... will be fine.
*It was a lie and she knew it. She wouldn't be fine until she'd found whether her brother was truly alive, or if someone was just playing games with her* _________________ The shot you hear is the one you don't have to worry about |

Till knew how mind games worked, he'd been playing them with most of his captive prisoners, his 'friends' and aqaintences and also with Laur for many years. He knew this would affect Laur for years to come until she had finally found the truth.
Today was not thar day, it was supposed to be a day of celebration, but, it had been darkened by that damned God who did constantly play games with them. He had to wonder, would Laur eventually defect to the other side?
He knew that question in all eventuality would be yes if he did not play the games that he does correctly. He didn't enjoy mind games, they were a necessity. Otherwise, he would have been nothing by all this time. Deciding to let the situation slide, knowing Laur would think upon this alone.
"Zhall ve go? I have arranged a few zings, zo zat today could be, relaxing. Unlezz you vish to be alone for now?" He knew that question was cutting. She could stay, and be alone, and be upset, or prove to him that she is fine and join him. _________________ There is a fate worse than death. It is not me, no. But, I can try... |
