EC vs Guardians - Continued.

I, like many others, found the time given to us to fight was a tad too short. So I've posted a 'continued' version. Note, however, that only competitors from the original thread may post here.

((Cheers Net. I've been thinking long and hard how I would reply to 3kuls last post, as its quite a post. So, here we go.....))

Jho'Lhak watched as Holloweyes changed form slightly. He'd seen many a thing in his lifetime, and this one was certainly not one of them. He'd seen the various ways of seeing the future, and had even been party to it, through others.

He distrusted reading the future, as minor things change, which ripple to bigger things. It was difficult to balance fate with destiny. Choices with 'A clear path'.

As he made his decision of what to do, he reaches into his pouch, and pulls out a small Magick Crystal. With a small, almost indetectable flicker, he throws the Magick Crystal behind Holloweyes, to what appears to be no apparent effect.

Jho'Lhak visibly frowns, aknowledging what ever was supposed to happen, hadn't. Slowly lowering his position, "Very well. I shall, study this most perculiar item..."

From about ten metres away, Jho'Lhak looks into the smoking lantern. It takes a few moments at first for anything to happen. Then, slowly a blurry image forms, as it does so, a few faces flicker across it, and then it shows an image of the arena.

Flicking from the view of the arena, it shows at first an image of Shadowveil, curled up and partially burnt. It flickers from that to Raven stood atop a rooftop. It flickers to the hummer now buried in the side of a toolshed, with Whiteoak strapped into the seat, but leaning to one side.

Then it cuts to Holloweyes, digging himself out of the rubble, and then to Goron, flat and unconscious beneath a Copycat Blade wielding Net. Somewhere behind him stands Shaon, and himself, embedded in the side of a wall.

Jho'Lhak stares in disbelief.....

As the Hummer that Sekhmet was driving approached the barracade around the cleared out void, Whiteoak used the repulse and tractor beam features of his staff to push and pull the cars and debris away from a section which he made large enough for the hummer to fit through.

He figured it was soon to be a rough ride, so he strapped himself in securely as the Hummer raced forward, heading in the direction of the center pile still a good distance away.

The vixen sent Holloweyes the mental picture of someone nodding, before speaking to the rest of the team.

HollowEyes watched with a sense of satisfaction as Jho'Lahk witnessed the deaths of his team mates in what might appear to be the near future - of course, if anybody else was to look into the Lantern at this time, they'd see exactly the same thing. However, he felt that he shouldn't move onto the next step of the plan just yet - he wanted to confirm that Jho'Lahk did indeed understand what he saw would prove to be a possibility of the inevitable (in other words, something that he could change, but he wouldn't know how to), and he also wanted to make sure that his team mates were ready.

The Lantern slowly pulled a little away from Jho'Lahk, as HollowEyes spoke up once more. "It's fine if you can't see anything in it, I've been told that not everyone can..." Depending on how Jho'Lahk reacted, HollowEyes would be able to tell to what kind of degree the mage believed in his fortune telling.

Goron crashed into the cement, and was immediately landed on by Net.

"Urrggh," Goron groaned, "Two words: Die it."

With that Goron slipped into unconciousness.

((There are a lot more, and more powerful ECers than Guardians, so I would prefer to keep this just among ourselves, unless either side has folks who don't wish to continue and then we could consider trading in one player for another, at least for a while. Also, when round two of the Olympics gets goings ( ) We Guardians might be a bit busier than you EC folks ( ) (or vice versa ) and we might want to put this on hold. Any way, thats my opinion.))

As the Hummer ran through the opening in the barrier, Whiteoak and Sekhmet were faced with a row of trenches with sharp spikes in them. Sekhmet slammed on the brakes and the Hummer skidded to a stop just at the edge. Whiteoak used his elemental magic to fill the trenches in front of them with ice (earth of water, minus fire) Making a mental note that it probably wouldn't be there should they need to make a quick retreat, they continued on their way, accelerating as they went. Sekhmet seemed to be taking dead aim for the central pile of stuff.

Jho'Lhak was one who did not like to lie, not unless it might prove useful to his own end, but he was sure that Holloweyes knew exactly what he was seeing, as it appeared to be an extension of him.

Jho'Lhak had to consider his option, although, something on Jho'Lhaks face showed a slight drain as such, and even if Holloweyes did see it, Jho'Lhak was not sure if Holloweyes would be able to read that much into it.

"This version of events appears to be, unclear. Perhaps, you could enlighten me as to what this is to achieve in the grand scheme of things..." This question is a double edged question, as either way Holloweyes answers, he's either going to have to attack, or put himself at further risk by remaining in this form.

Jho'Lhak floats there, now looking into Holloweyes' eyes...

As Sekhmet drove into the crater, she caught sight of a figure on top of a pile of scrap. The four arms were immediately recognisable. Sekhmet growled. This was the one who had burned her. Time for some payback...

"Hold on to ssomething, this is going to get rrough." Sekhmet brought her foot down on the accelerator. She aimed to catch the side of the scrap pile, hoping to tear a chunk out of the base and bring the structure crashing down without getting trapped beneath it.

Whiteoak had his staff pointing forward out the window of the Hummer. He had been using it set on repulse/tractor to clear the way as they had raced towards the center crater void and made their way through the outside barrier. As they approached the center pile, the one with Holloweyes on top, Whiteoak saw something that interested him. Holloweyes appeared to be dangleing some sort of a lantern infront of him. Maybe it was a weapon, maybe it was a relic, or a charm, but whatever it was, Whiteoak decided he wanted it. So, he set the targeting lock onto the lantern and shot a small pulse of "repluse" at it, (pushing it slightly away) hoping that Holloweyes would atttempt to pull back at it, because right away Whiteoak switched back to tractor beam and started to pull it towards the Hummer. He intended to either yank the Lantern out of Holloweye's hands or pull Holloweyes off the pile. One way, Whiteoak got a new toy and Jho'Lhak wouldn't be under attack any more, or the other way, Holloweyes would fall off and hurt himself while being dragged and again, Jho'Lhak would be safe.

Unless there was another alternative he hadn't thought of......
