The Powers of the Immortal

Ok, our immortal characters are pretty powerful. That's just a given. But it's time we list down what we think the standard powers are that they get becuase they are immortal, and the powers they get because of their designation. Feel free to add onto the list of Standard Immortal powers, or list powers unique to your immortal character.


Standard Immortal Powers

Ethereal form

All of the Immortals, when in Earth's plane of existance, can occupy a state of pure energy, where they are invisible or semi-transparent to mortals. When in this state, they can walk through walls, fly, your basic standard issue ghost powers.

Energy Blast

When in Ethereal form, Immortals can gather some of their energy into a ball, and blast that at another opponent in ethereal form. It is the only known way to attack another god/spirit when they are in this form.

Physical manipulation

It's assumed that all Immortals can manipulate the water molecues to form physical bodies, and that they can shape these bodies into any form they want. It's also assumed they can change this into the much more generalized "Cloud" or "Mist" forms, the former being a larger and more chaotic form of hte latter. When in Cloud form, they can manipulate their water to recreate several weather events, such as tornadoes, hail, lightning, straight line winds, etc. Mist form tends to be used for interacting with Mortals in a much more spiritual way, ie using it to present yourself as a god or spirit to a mortal.



DP specific powers
As the God of Insanity, it is assumed that DP has a redementary control over people's minds, at least as far as their mental stability goes. It also assumes that he can use this control to open telepathic links to poeple, and possibly peak in on telepathic communications, or mindspeak.

Shaon-specific powers
As the goddess of illusion, Shaon has extreme abilities over minds, able to feel beings often far before she is able to physically see them (ergo, beings that are 'mindless' are often gone unnoticed by her, and is one of her weaknesses.). Like DP (who has his abilities due to his powers being on (permanent) loan), she can communicate telepathically with others, and is thought to be telekenetic, though she has never physically demonstrated this ability. As her title says, she is mentally able to project physical images, which is thought to work though her telepathic powers.

She also has control over the Dream Realm (where beings go when they dream :3), and as such is able to reach into other god's powers while in the realm, and only in this realm.

Net-specific powers:
Net's abilities are pretty much limited to time distortion. His primary focus is his copycat blades, which he can whip out at any moment and use to turn the tide of many a battle.

Forte Specific Skills

Vectors: Protrayed as invisible hands formed by telekinesis. Forte was the one and only survivor of the Diclonius, and he alone slain his clan to rightfully gain the right of the God of Destruction. These vectors, by mortal standards, can perform superhuman feats, it is something that is as fast as light oscillations that have cutting abilities and are extremely resistant, to magic, physical weapons, even future weapons such as guns or tank rounds, possibly even nuclear weapons, however, from it was born, it wasn't, by nature, a weapon, but a whole other purpose, used for hunting, gathering food, building, terraforming, and such. Diclonius possessed vectors, different numbers of them, and different ranges, from 2 meters to as much as a mile, or much much more, for Diclonius strong enough to become elders of their kind. These Diclonius were the more evolved origins of humans, like the homo erectus before the homo sapiens, they have died off by low gene diversity, and now humans have no vectors.

By nature, Forte has an extremely powerful mind, being able to control, what seems to be, 50 pairs of vectors at once without any trouble. His vectors has even grown to a godly level, being able to raise one mountain without help from different vectors, using only one.

Specific Powers:


Getta:

As God of music, he can create highly destructive chaotic sounds. He can create highly distracting/deafening sounds. He can also cause a range of other emotions such as happiness, sadness, relaxation, content etc just by unleashing his musical talents. He can aurally project these sounds, as well as create a wonderfully luring song voice.

When in possession of instruments, especially the Golden Harp, his powers increase or even slightly change according to the instrument.

Ebyl:

As Goddess of Art, anything she draws (which on a good day, can come to fruition in minutes depending on the difficulty of the picture) can and will come to live. This includes unleashing demons and other supernatural beings, weaponry, and even landscapes.

Some of her artwork is slightly hypnotizing, leaving her 'victims' open to mostly moderate suggestions (she coulnd not will them to death as all living beings have the superior willpower to live).

She has no specific weaponry, other than a blank canvas/surface to paint on, and a paint brush that seems to have an unending supply of paint. The brush can unleash paint which can form various items, such as rope (to tie down enemies) blinding ink like substances and suchlike.

Falfis:

As God of Ailments, he can cause any status ailments to any being he so chooses. This also covers crops. Just a single blow or touch from him is enough to cause enough ailments to cause death within others. No standard weaponry.

Jade:

As spirit of Misplaced Items, and being married to Falfis, she has little influence in the immortal realm. Her powers are at best an inconvenience to others. She can cause others to lose important items and even their weapons and armour (sometimes, extending to clothing if she's feeling particularly vengeful). No set standard of weaponry.

Sira:

As Goddess of pain, she can cause, well, incredible pain within her opponents. Be it physical or emotional. At its worst, its completely debilitating, and often causes the victim to wish that they could die. This also means she's invulnerable to pain (which is both a blessing and a curse, as she could be at risk.).

He Pain Flail, which is a whip like weapon, tailing off in several singular strands connected to various painful looking implements. Impalement or wounds are not a necessity, merely a touch would cause severe pain in the region it touches. Best used as a long range weapon, although, individual flails can be used in close combat.

Jecht:

As God of peace, he can at the very least negotiate a full fledged war into a state of ceasefire. At best, completely avoiding war, and coming to a long term agreement beneficial to both factions, causing a treaty to be signed.

He has avoided many a combat situation simply through negotiation. Ionically, his choices of weapons are the peace targe (a shield worn on the arm, being circular in style, and being approx 10 inches in diametre). It can negate most effects of weaponry, including magical and enchanted items.

He also weilds the War Blade (not nearly as powerful as Forte's Sword of Destruction). It is fairly destructive, but upon contact, the victim will form an imediate alleigiance to Jecht, thus allowing him to slowly form an army. Other effects yet to be revealed.

Violet:

Due to be Goddess of Curiosity, she will eventually learn to cause others to become curious about the first object or person other than herself seen. She also has the abiltiy to cause balls of magic and energy to become items of curiosity, and is random at best. The item could be useful, or just plain pointless.

Her weaponry is her Curiosity Gloves. Which provide a large supply of Curiosity Energy that can be fired at objects, rather than waiting for an offensive attack. Also, they can clasp bladed weapons, with a 50% success rate of negation of the effects of that weapon.

Currently in the making, is what appears to be a cuddly toy, a bear to be precise. No-one's quite sure if its alive. But, it can become completely solid when she swings it at an opponant or object, and takes on a density enough to propell the enemy backwards/break the object apart.

Other effects yet to be listed.

((Sorry for the long list, and the amount of characters. But they're part of Violets family, and also, the immortal realm looks a bit empty.

Eerily soo.....We may need to talk....I smell a family tree growing here.

So we are listing weapontry? I have two for you that involves DP's power.

Sane Reaper's Scythe: Borrowing from his betrothed's idea, Au'Marui created an elite core of reapers to harvest the Sanity of victims. Using their scythes, they harvested many a person's insanity, and have been believed to have kept the Skull Shaped Basket's clean. However, most of the scythes, which at one point were mass produced, are now gone, with the exception of one known existing scythe, under the control of DP. The SR's scythe is also one of the only known cures for the Sanity Blade.

The Sanity Blade: Made during The Forum Wars, it is said that DP poured all the harvested Sanity into the blessed bone handle, enabling this weapon's extreme power. It is so powerfull, that only a touch of this weapon is all that is needed to turn one sane. Also due to it's extreme amount of Sanity contain, it can turn objects into a more sane version of the object. However, some say it is too powerful, for only DP himself (and maybe Paranesia ) can hold it without feeling it's affects. It is rumored to even be able to turn Immortals not immune to it's power into mortal accountants.

Well I'm always open to tedious links from one character to another. Should we invite some of the better roleplayers to bring in an immortal or not?

I mean, it'd provide us with a larger story arc rather than, what four or five of us roleplaying, which, usually is enough, but for a bit of longevity.... lol...

I know Immortals can be affected by ice magic, or ice weaponry of various sorts. Buuuut, a really stupid question from someone who's not in the inner circle of the immortals

What are Immortals affected by (I know they can suffer 'fatal' blows to which tends to lead to them reforming in a new body, I think).

The same goes for spirits, and retired Gods...

Kazumaru-specific powers

Oh, Burn: This ability (Which I'll end up with later. Due to Kazumaru having no clue how to use his powers right now, this is kinda pointless. Anyway.) allows Kazumaru to strike his opponents with Zeus-like lightning.

I'm Shocked: By sticking his finger in an electric socket, or otherwise connecting to an electric circuit, Kazumaru can instantaneously transport to any other exit (Bare wire, electric sockets). Of course, he can't hide inside the wire...

Punishment: Kazumaru can annoyingly recite horrible puns at willl. Shocking, isn't it?

Noten, the God of Nothing

I haven't written much on Noten, so here's a quick summary to save you having to read through everything that I've typed. The God of Nothing, given the name Noten by Little Sister, is a character that she's recently allied herself with. Noten views her as the mortal personification of it's will, and appears to be satisfied with following orders from her (though nobody seems to understand why it believes this to be true).

Noten is very new to being a God, and is not very skilled at it. So far it's managed to totally erase any memories that it had in order to experiment with it's powers, though since it's met Little Sister she's prevented any more destructive behaviour like this.

Noten's abilities can be summed up as 'being able to change something into nothing' - which can range from nullifying the abilities of others to dissolving the surrounding atmosphere to eradicating a specific object or person. It's a concious ability though, and Noten does have to touch something to make them turn into nothing. So Noten can actually touch things without erasing them from existance, and it does have to focus on something to destroy it.

Most of the time, Noten appears as a glowing white silhouette (sometimes with white flames), and has no distinguishing features. Think a crappy ghost costume (sheet over the head) and you've got about the right idea .

That's about it really... Noten has a few followers whom I've yet to bring to Blackstar, though they're all mortal. Oh, Noten also has it's Temple of Nothing, which doubles up as both a temple for worship and a dimensional vehicle that can travel across ridiculous amounts of space in very little time. The Temple does this by eating away at the fabric of reality, thus entering the dimension of 'nothing' (where bothersome things like time and space don't exist) and it is able to leave this zone just as easily (despite the fact that there is no fabric of reality for it to eat through to get out ).

It's an incredibly complicated method of travel that makes almost no sense at all, and won't work unless Noten makes it happen .
