((No, I wouldn't consider it a powerplay to assume that it worked again either, but I would think that deciding for yourself that the attack hit the Shaon clone was. If you think that the hit has no chance of missing and I post otherwise, then you can point that out after I post, but as it is the Shaon clone is a unit of the EC team, and it is our decision as to how it reacts to an attack (even if it's something as simple as getting frozen).

However, it's hardly an essential unit, so I guess there's no reason for me to get too annoyed.))

Whiteoak's scanner revealed nothing but ordinary rainwater, as this was all that the clones were ever made of. Scanning the weapons yeilded similar results, and showed no special properties at all.

((As mentioned earlier, the clones were made of water - Shaon merely altered their shape, gave the illusion that the clones bore a similar resonance to what their real counterparts would and allowed them to form what appeared to be their weapons. The spirit charm binding the clone stops working when the water clone becomes incapacitated, and the clone instantly loses it's form. However, in this case, you wouldn't have been able to tell this, because the water doesn't have a chance to lose it's form, as you've frozen it. I can't really see that you'd learn anything from it, unless you wanted to know the contents of the water supply in the arena Razz))

Goron decided against giving chase. That was one way to fall into a trap, something Goron was too keen on. However, he was noticing a trend with these Council members: They rarely seemed to stand and fight.

Sighing, Goron looked down at his belt for something to help him retreive his sword.

"Let's see... EMP blast... no... laser cannon... probablly not... Oh this should do nicely!" Goron exclamined as he pulled out a fragmentation grenade. He leapt back down to the ground and strode over to the pool, stopping only to let the tail of the snake go by.

The pool was pitch black. Goron had a slim chance of finding it if he tried searching blindly, but this method should be a lot more effective.

He popped the pin out of the grenade and dropped it into the pool. He turned on his heel and calmly walked across to the otherside of the house. Goron heard the explosion go off, sending inky water all over the backyard. The sword shot up and out of the p ool and landed in the front yard next to Goron. As he bent over and picked it up he muttered something about his estimate being off.

"This is Goron to Guardians, what's the situation? I have lost contact with HollowEyes."

((So I take it, Whiteoak has then established that to any kind of scan, the clones will appear as water, and their weapons contain no magic, and would in fact do little damage if meeting any significant resistance, like armor or other weaponry. Since water, held together magically, still has a fairly miniumum amount of surface tension, and as you indicated, only really has solidity since it was frozen in the attacks. If this is true, it is an important thing to have learned.))

((Sorry that you felt it was a power play, based on your earlier posts, I thought that you were setting them up for a quick despensation since my mistake was fairly obvious

Quote:
The Shaon clone had managed to avoid some of the blast, but part of her arm and upper body had frozen solid as well. It's movements seemed a bit more sluggish because of this, but it continued to pursue Whiteoak

Quote:
In what could only be described as a very painful looking motion, it snapped several of it's fingers off and threw them at Whiteoak.

This hardly seems like a kill one would need to wait for confirmation of, unless it is part of your plan to stall and buy time.? Smile So, what has happened to the fire attack? ))

Whiteoak continues to make his way to the junk wall surrounding the pile Net and Co. have built up and the fortifications they have dug.

Raven sat in a house. She could see the tower now and smiled to herself. The dark room would have made her virtually invisible, if she had not her hood down. Her pale skin glowed with it's brightness in the dark room. Suddenly her pager gave an annoying 'beep' and a message came through from Net.

"The base is 'Finito'. Time to come back home, and take your dates with you. I'm sure they'll enjoy the experience."

"Humph!" She muttered to herself. He should know she doesn't always have dates. Sighing, she stood up and flexed her arm. Punching a hole through the nearest window, the glass shattered and fell onto the grass outside as she jumped out and landed softly on the ground.

She stuck out a bit because of her black attire, so she decided to keep to the back ways. Going around the side of the house she jumped into the garden. Her cloak fluttering behind her as she walked towards to tower. She felt a cold sensation on her back, like she was being watched. Shrugging it off, she knew someone was trying to find her. "Let them" She thought coldly to herself. They were no threat to her. Raven's eyes looked around the area as she continued her journey towards to tower.

The vixen looked at the tower, nodding her head in approvial.

She scaled the side with ease, getting to the very top of the building, above even the sniper outpost.

Staying atop there would be a huge advantage to the goddess, allowing her to monitor the battles much easier than hopping around in the suburbs.

Jho'Lhak frowned his annoyance as the locusts returned to where ever it was they resided. However, all was not lost, as anything using any form of magic, leaves behind it a trace, a signature, a magical residue. As the modified forcefield returns to him, he lets a small field of Magick eminate from him and finds what he was looking for.

Now being armed with an extra spell, he turns his attention back towards the tower, which is now complete. The locusts aparently move quickly. Then, from his high position, he spots Raven moving, only a few streets away from Whiteoak, who has left the confines of the house.

"Whiteoak, an enemy is sighted two streets away from your position to the left. The figure is moving with some haste...." Searching around he spots Goron's position, having seen that he's now done with Holloweyes, and upon recieving his communication.

"Goron, can you find a way inside of the tower? I see the snipers, partially hidden. Can you, distract them?"

Then, responding to Sekhmets communication, "A distraction, I watch out for the rock beings that are about to appear...."

Closing his eyes, now was a better time than never to see if he'd become used to this arena. Focusing on Sekhmets position, as his was an aura he had become used to, his mind reaches the ground. Time to terraform.

Using a large portion of his energy and concentration, the ground begins to rumble and break. Slowly, three figures form in the ground, being one with the ground. Standing at seven feet tall, and looking like alien beasts, they begin to 'walk' towards the tower.

Nearing it, each of them begin to attack it, hitting it, and attempting to rip out part of the construct....

"Righto Jho," Goron said, "I'll get right on that."

Goron popped his sword up and caught it in it's sheath. After taking one final look around for anything important, he bounded off toward the tower.

Goron passed through the hole in the fence that HE had made, then toward blew a hole in a house. It's android residents came running out.

"My apologies," Goron said as he blew a hole in the other side of the hous and exited.

He hurtled a hedge and came to a stop at the edge of the crater.

"My, my," he said, "The Evil Councilers are all about putting on a great show..."

Going on Jho's suggestion, Goron fired a few laser shots at the snipers.

The fox felt the tower start shaking. Immediately, she looked down. There were three rock beings, seiging the tower. Mindless.

Instead of attempting to rip the golems a new one, she traced their magic back to the creator. A being she felt, this time. An enemy. Too small to see, but intelligence large enough to make up for it.

Alerting her team of his presence and attack, she retaliated.

The vixen attempted to rip a hole into his mind, trying to force herself in.

~Destroy the golems.~

As Jho'Lhak was trying to concentrate so much, his energies were diverted to his mind. Meaning any mental attack may not be entirely futile, but he would be able to deal with any intruders. Shaon was not the first telepath he had encountered.

In all of his many years of negotiations, he had to have been wary of those that would decieve him, influence him to their own gain or assassinate him through distraction.

~ You would enter anothers mind. Attempt to command them to your will. I would discuss this further, but you are providing an unnecessary distraction. We shall talk later.... ~

His energy already being used up, he has just enough energy to trace the telepathic link to Shaon, and using that tenuous link, unleashes a semi-powerful ball of raw Magick upon her current position. As he does so, one of the rock creatures falls back into the ground.

The other two continue to attack the structure. One of them manages to take hold of a car, and begins to heave backwards, attempting to pull out what appears to be a weak part of the structure...

((It's about time Net got some action. It's been so long he's managed to marry an android, have kids and start his own farm inside the crater-base Razz.))

*Net stared at the golems with shock as they pulled out yet another vital part of the tower.*

What do you think this is?! Jenga?!?! Shoo! Shoo!

*Net's efforts were in vain, as the tower soon graoned, shuddered and collapsed under it's own weight, falling to the ground in a mass of scrap metal and landing on Net's prized rose gardens. After a minute or two had elapsed, the dust settled. An fist shot through the rubble, followed by the rest of the now extremly-pissed-off spirit of binary. Ordering the Locust Fiends to rebuild the structure, he turns and glares at the Golems.*

How dare you destroy my rose gar-

*Before he could finish his sentence, all six of Whiteoak's firey plumes of death landed. On his head. Being submerged in hot, sticky, napalmish chemical fire did nothing to help his already pained ego, let alone his extreme rage at the... The Beasts who had destroyed his farm and doomed his family to an eternity of poverty.*

...
...
...

Owy! Hot hot hot! HOT!!!!

*With that awesome, unbestable insult, Net flew into a rage, distorting the Golems into stasis before lunging at them, copy-cat blades drawn. The blades themselves had formed into a runic sword that seemed to flow with blue fire, reminicent of the sword he had used against Evil Angel when the fallen one had last attacked the cave. It was an imitation of Chronos's blade, which could by it's very nature defy reality itself.

Of course, it'd help a lot if it wasn't so damn heavy. Missing the golems, the blade flies out of Net's hands and wedges itself in a nearby tree. The now somewhat unheroic spirit of binary quickly pulls the sword out of the tree, narrowly avoids hitting himself in the nose with aforementioned sword's gem-studded hilt and once again lunges at the group of golems that had destroyed all which he had worked so hard to obtain.*

Having received Jho'Lhak's communication, Whiteoak redoubled his speed and began making his way to his left, following the sense he'd detected (that now he knew was Raven.) As he went, he slipped the staff into its carrying strap on his back, he took the Sling of David out of his "arsenal". He reinforced his fields, and made sure his mind did not give away his intentions. Placing his hands together, he separated them bringing forth an orb. It was a“Divine Energy of Creation” Orb. This is the force that originally brought existence out of chaos at the time of creation. The effect being that anything hit with this would have what ever was good in it strengthened (even if it was just "honor among thieves" type stuff) and what ever was evil in it neutralized a bit, and nooo, it wouldn't be absorbed to make a bad thing stronger, it would just dissipate some part of its evilness and energy as the two forces cancel each other out, and it would not cause bad things to writhe in agony, the good and the evil would just counteract each other out of existence. The more evil an entity is the more it drains them of their energy and abilities.

He had pulled up about even but one street over. Cutting between houses, he placed the orb into the sling and began to wind up. Coming out from between the buildings, he saw Raven a bit ahead of him. Moving sideways had given her the straight line advantage. Winding up and releasing the orb, it flew up and over her head. Whiteoak speaks quietly:

"Let there be light"

and the orb makes a small popping sound. Energy bundles fly out in all directions filling about a 100 foot cube. Each of these bundles then pops again and the Divine Energy fills the air.

Whiteoak immediately quiets his mind and retreats backwards between the houses again, hopefully out of sight before Raven even knows what just happened.

Goron watched as the tower collapsed taking down Net with it. As Net went to attack the two Golems, Goron raised his right arm and targeted Net. Net however, flailed his overwieght sword rediclously and sent it flying into a tree.

Goron scratched his head and said: "Why bother?"

Instead, Goron decided on entertaining himself with some target practice. He raised his console above his head and began firing small bursts of lasers at the locust fiends that were trying to rebuild the tower.

Sooner or later the destroyed tower was bound to attract some real competition, so Goron kept his eyes and ears open.

As the golems began to pull the tower to bits, Sekhmet jumped onto the roof of a nearby house to enjoy the show. There was no point storming the tower now, by the looks of it anyone up there would soon find themselves back on the ground.

She let out a whoop as the structure fell, laughing out loud as Net was hit by the fire. "Nice disstraction! Let's see them try to hide now!" She hops off the roof onto the remains of the pile of cars, keeping watch over the area for signs of enemy or ally. The one in the crater had apparently taken no damage from the fall or the napalm, so Sekhmet keeps her distance. There was little point in attacking such an invulnerable creature, she would wait for a more likely target.

((GBE, that's a rather convenient assumption that the Locust Fiends returning to their realm would leave magical residue. Confused However, I'm not really in the mood to argue, so I'll just tell you that there's hardly any magic that you can draw upon from the Locust Fiends, as it comes from the Locust Spirit itself. If you attempt to use it's power without consulting it (which is what I assume that you meant by being armed with a new spell), it's going to know, and probably won't be too happy. Considering that HollowEyes is a disciple of this spirit, there's little chance that it'll let you use it's power even if you did ask it.))

The cars that Sekhmet is standing on begin to groan and sink as a pool of lava washed underneath them, signifying that HollowEyes had finally arrived on the scene. Although he shouldn't really have found it all that surprising, it seemed that Net's tower hadn't lasted all that long at all. He looked around, spotting the golems and a few of the Guardians around the base.

It was time to take a little more control of the current situation. The lava beneath Sekhmet suddenly burst up around her, and it appeared that the several close streams of it aimed to converge at the high point of their arc so as to trap her ((kind of like a cage)). There didn't seem much point in bothering with the golems to HollowEyes - provided that he kept his distance from them, he was certain that his teammates could take care of them.

The Locust Fiends' shrieks of pain drew HollowEyes attention to Goron, who was casually shooting at several of them. HollowEyes found this downright confusing considering that he'd had left before Goron - the fact that he'd managed to regain his sword as well was also annoying, as a trap's hardly worth setting if it doesn't at least hinder the opponent. Eyes narrowed, HollowEyes selected two beetle charms and two jellyfish charms from their respective pouches, and began to twirl his arms before releasing the charms. The circular arm motion used to throw them has made the movements of the charms harder to predict, and HollowEyes hoped that this would mean a better chance of hitting his opponent.

((Oh, and Shine, yeah, your assumptions about the nature of water clones are more or less correct, although it's nothing you couldn't have learnt by reading a few other threads I'd used them in. Razz I was more annoyed because you making the Shaon clone 'die' suggested to me that you didn't believe that we'd do it, or that you thought we might try to powerplay our way out of it. Regardless of what it looked like we were setting them up for, it's still up to us to choose their fate.))

Sekhmet feels the cars shift beneath her and instinctively jumps upwards to escape the unstable ground, her powerful hind legs propelling her more than three metres in the air. A stream of lava shoots upwards and she twists aside to avoid it, shutting her eyes to protect them from the superheated air. As a result, her landing just inside the crater is somewhat less than graceful.

Standing with a vicious growl, she smells the reek of burned fur and feathers. Twisting her head to look along her back, she sees her feather crest singed and blackened by the heat.

Leaping onto an intact part of the wall, Sekhmet races towards the strange four-armed creature. Using the roof of a handy Suzuki as a springboard, she pounces at HollowEyes with claws and teeth at the ready, aiming to come down right on top of him.
