Origin of Screen names

Yes... That's what I thought. Oh well. Might have some technical issues or whatnot. Or they need to wait for a new instilation disk. I don't care. I'm having some fun while he's gone.

This RPGing is all very escape-ist fantasy for me, and I am torn between telling you all about myself and not telling you anything (mostly for fear of rejection, I am a fairly insecure person and most likely very very different than you folks for the most part.)

In some circles "retro" is cool, I hope that this is true because I am retro for real.

Shine- back in the 70's Pink Floyd had a song with lyrics (and Title?) about "Shine On, You Crazy Diamond" about Shining on in spite of adversity in your personal life and lack of recognition of your successes etc. The name "Shine" on surface sounds positive, cheery and optimistic and sort of Polyanna, but the whole story is really rather depressive, its a song to a (real)guy who actually went crazy (see the movie "Shine"). In the song there is a line about
"Did you exchange
a walk-on part in a war,
for a lead role
in a cage?"

and in many ways in my professional life I feel that I did that. There is a bigger war out there about changing the world from the heartless corporate/government/economic boreing slave lives most of us live, to healthy wholeistic globally aware lives we should be living, and I sold out. I'm kind of an important person but in a small scale; and I'm not really having the impact that I think I should have had.

But somewhere inside, the real me Shines on....

The final fantacy viallan didn't have a "sicase" on the end. It was just "Sephiroth". Has anyone seen the new movie? It. Is. So. Cool!

I know, I said that to avoid certain annoyances i changed the name of my original character from "Sicase" to "Sephirothsicase"

Kat is just a portion of my actual name, an I picked the number 5 because it's a good even number (right between 1 and 10). Somewhere along the line I learned someone was making clones.

Al200002 - Al - the first two letters of my name. The year 2000. Made it symmetrical with another 2. Accidently added an extra 0.
AL37 - Al - The first two letters, as above. Two random numbers. Made it so my name was shorter! Capitalised so it's said Ay-Ell-Three-Seven instead of Al thirty-seven, because it sounds cool.
R.O.S.E. - First female name I thought of that was 4 letters long. Then I mishmashed the words to fit Razz

EvilMonkeyInc - My PS2 Central Station Europe username. From a picture of Evil Monkeys Incorporated that I saw round a friend's. Takes up all the name space for a Central Station account.
WebsiteAl - My name is Al and I make websites. Wow.
AngelicAl - Good Elite version of above.
HappyMonkeyPope - Good Elite version of EvilMonkey. Guess where it comes from :O

An update to several of my character names:

Paranesia: It was a play on a word I don't remember that ironically means 'to forget simple words'

Kumo Jinrui: I had intended to let this mean 'Spider Human', which is Kumo Ningen, but Kumo Jinrui (Spider Human Species) sounds better Very Happy

Kumo Tsubasa: Spider Wing. :3

Churitsu: Neutral in Japanese, since she's the lone Guardian of Neutrality (like how Embri was one of the Guardians of Light. They ARE related.).

I'll say about my orgin for my user name, but now I'll put the ones for my characters.

Trace: Trace you can say a mix of link (Zelda universe), and a norn.

Natu: I used a name of a "Pokemon" (Yes a like Pokemon alot.), since its a psychic type. I gave him powers from two shows. One his ninja powers is from Naruto, more jutsus will come. Two is water bending from avatar the last air bender. To add more defense, water bending was in my head.( I any one saw the creatures war at the a2k, a norn is a little like him.)

Cross Fire: When made, he was alot like Zuko in the begging of the show avatar. Later though, his aggressive genes calmed down some, and now ably to guild electricity. Even then, he aways ready to fight.

Ice Wave: Is the water bender of the group, he has healing powers like some water posses.( Natu has healing to.) IW prefers to defend with water bending in fighting. (he will be ready to hurt you if he must.)

Sand Stone: SS can hear with his feet, like the blind bandit. Can be soft as a crane, or ferice as a tiger. Will block many atacks with a block of rock.

Ling: Ling is like a norn version of ang, but with out the power of earth, fire, and water unless fused together with his brothers.

dmacdonald95 - My name is Dustin MacDonald. 95 came out of who-knows-where

Violet - Favourite colour is blue. Favourite way to say blue is Indigo. Indigo sounds strange, and I had an anti-Microsoft phase going on. Microsoft had some product that was Codenammed Indigo I read about...and since Amarillo (Yellow) and Emerald didn't sound right, I tried Violet. And it fit.

Jennifer: my name. DUH.

12838: The 2838 came from a serial number of a video card we had recieved the day I made the screen name, and I added a 1 because I had forgot my password to a website when I was 10 and added a 1.

Weird, eh?
