The Job Board is a Board owned store which can be found here.

What is it for?

The Job Board contains unique jobs that any Dojodian can undertake. Each one comes with a significant cash and/or item reward.

How do I get a Job?

If there are any available in the store, just Buy it like any other item. Each Job costs 0 to take on, and includes a description of the task needed to complete.

Do I use the Service right away?

No. Do not use the Job service until you have finished the job. By having the Job in your inventory, no one else can take on that job. When you have finished the task, THEN go to your inventory and click "use this service" next to the Job item, and paste in the requested information.

When do I get paid?

As soon as I get the PM generated by the use of the service, and verify the information is sound. Payment will be made by donation in the case of money, or direct inventory deposit in the case of items. The majority of these should be handled in 24 hours or less.

How many Jobs can I have?

Only one at a time. You MUST finish your first job before taking on another. If you decide you don't want to do the job, you can sell the Job item in your store. The ONLY requirement is that you may not charge for it.

Anyone found to be holding more than one Job item or selling a Job in their store for more than 0 will be dealt with accordingly.

Why can I only have one Job at a time?

To make it fair for everyone. There are a lot fewer jobs than there are Dojodians at the moment. I do not want to see someone Job hoarding!

Does that mean I can only ever do one Job?

Not at all. As soon as you finish one Job, you can immediately start another, if there's one available.

What does "??? Item" mean?

It means the reward includes a random item. These will vary (I have a list of items that I roll against randomly with some dice) but may include such items as potions, Importation Licenses, or other Board services.

There aren't any Jobs! When are new jobs posted?

It's random. When I have a job to do that would be possible by anyone, I post it up as a Job. In many cases, it's broken down into smaller jobs because the whole thing is huge. (The survey of the Corporate Development thread is a good example.) My best advice is to check the Job Board regularly.

What kind of Jobs are there?

At the moment, only one kind is available, but I'm working on other types of Jobs.

Survey and Report Jobs - These are the most common kind of job. All you have to do is read a specific thread and capture the information requested by the job.

Sage Advice Jobs - These jobs involve writing an article for Blackstar. The current writing project is the Blackstar FAQ, so most Sage Advice Jobs will be for our Dojo Guide at the moment.

Summarize Jobs - (not yet available) This Job involves reading a thread and writing a short summary of it. The summary should include the major plot points, the setting, NPC's if any, and genre. (Action, Comedy, Informal, Adventure, Cooperative, Puzzle, Combat etc.) The summary should be about 250-500 words, spell checked, and free of major grammatical errors.

Commissioned Jobs - (not yet available) A Commissioned job involves creating something, usually an image or sprite. Specifics will vary, but most will be for Medals or Items.

What purpose do the Jobs serve?

Other than earning the job performers some extra cash? They lighten the Admin's work load considerably. Our thanks!
