i looked all over the dojo and could not find a certain place where someone could inform authoroty and other RPers about some bugs they should watch out for, so i made this one.

right now, i have a bug where i am running mozilla 1.5.0.7\windows XP and after a post says "you have recieved for that post" and does not give any yen.

(Un)fortunatly,that isn't a bug.You can only earn yen from certan areas to help the ecconamy.Otherwise we'll have mass inflation,and then nobody would be able to by a thing.

Trust me,the bank has a good intrest rate,so i just dump my money in there and wait.

Normally, Bug Reports can be sent directly to TheSensei or to me, Embri.

(I'll then pass the buck to DP! Wink

He's the computer whiz, after all)

And SFOT is exactly right - not every board pays out money, and the most you can get for a single post is 50 yen.

In particular, boards such as the Meeting House, Announcements, Bingo Hall and some others do not give out funds.

All of the public RP Boards do, however.

In regards to the issue of "yen for posts",
I have noticed that the value decreases with subsequent posts.

Could someone describe (or link) the decrease rate and the renewal rate?

Decreases with subsequent posts? I'm not sure what you mean, Shine.

The Yen

system works on a fixed amount per post, plus a per character bonus.

The more words you type, the more money you get, up to 50 yen. If you mean the smaller bonus you get for editing a post, that can be because you were under 50 yen for the beginning of the post and added more characters, getting some more yen.

Erm... for example, if you got 40 yen for a post, then edited it and added more words, you could get up to 10 yen, which might make it look like you were receiving fewer yen per character because you hit the 50 yen total cap.

If this doesn't clarify your question, it's probably my fault for misunderstanding, so just give me another stab at it with some more information.

Perhaps I was just misunderstanding what I was seeing, but it seemed like when I would post several posts in an evening (last night), they received fewer and fewer Yen

for each successive post I made. Maybe I was posting smaller posts as I went along (maybe I was getting tired of writing Wink

) Then when I came on tonight, I made a fair sized post and only got , I think 23 Yen

, so I thought maybe it hadn't been 24 hours apart, so it was still recovering from yeaterdays allottment.

You shouldn't receive less Yen

just because you posted more frequently, unless you go over the 15 posts per day cap, at which point you won't get any Yen

for more posts until the next day.

Don't worry about it, Shine, and don't feel bad. The payout system is rather obscure, since you can't see how it works directly. However, there is no graduated payouts that I know of - the Cash MOD isn't that sophisticated.

It just gives out 5 yen when you post, plus 0.04 Yen

per character of your post (I think... the exact number slips my mind, but that's about right.)

Previously, the awards were 50 Yen

for posting, plus 0.02 Yen

per character, with a cap of 150 Yen

. This was causing too much money to go into the economy, so virtually all the boards were cut off. That wasn't really an effective system either, so we went with all the RP boards paying out at a lower rate.

We're still trying to balance out the economy here, folks, so apologies for all the changes. As we get more users, Stores and items, the payouts and/or number of boards that pay may go up, as there will be more demand for money and more ways that it's leaving our system.

level, so it doesn't take a mountain of words to earn you cash. Wink

Any bugs can be PM'd to me now and I can work on fixing them.

And Al's first fix of the season is:

The Item-To-Store Movement Glitch.
Now when you move an item to your store, you actually get it put in your store!

Earlier today, Coolpikaaa found a bug that allowed any user to use any other user's services in their items, even if they did not own the service. This has been rectified.

Less of a bug and more of a suggestion, is it possible through the wonders of PHPBB hackery to get the 'This service had been used' PM to automatically redirect replies to the person who used the service instead of the 'Ghosts of the Dojo' user, or does it do this already?
