The Arpies! (RPies)

An annual Role Playing award ceremony equivlent to the Oscars, where the best of the best are recognized for their acheivement and talent. Some categories I propose (feel free to suggest more):

Best Role Player - Awarded to the single greatest role player on Blackstar. They have made an incredible impact on this site's Role Plays and have demonstrated mastery of the art above all others.

Best Role Play Idea - Given to the creator of the most unique and popular RP thread on Blackstar.

Best Rookie Role Player - Awarded to the new role player that have entered the Role Playing community within (enter time period here... probablly 1 year), and have demonstrated the most growth since then.

Best Role Playing Character - Given to the owner of the character that was shown to have the best background, most creative origin, and was executed to their fullest extent.

Best Game Thread - This award goes to the creator of the most popular game thread in the bingo hall.

Best Story - Goes to the greatest story told in the amphitheater.

Best Item - To the creator of what is beleived to be the site's best item.

Most Overlooked Thread - The creator of the thread which had a brillant concept, but never really took off.

Nominees would be decided by a gathering a certain number of nominations for that potential winner. Winners would be decided by a vote of the entire Blackstar community from the nominees. Perhaps we could get some nice sprites for the winners to stick in their signatures. What do you all think?

I certainly like it. Sorta like the QOTM (which I just realized I've neglected... crap. ) but roleplay-style. I'm sure this'll take off Very Happy

Wheee! Awards! I like, I like it a lot! ^_^ Goes well with some new concepts I'm working on for the Dojo's medal system... >_> <_<

And no, I'm not telling you what it is, not yet. It's a secret! Laughing

Anywhosit, if this goes through, I'll offer to sprite up a nice academy award style RP trophy thingy.

PS: Goron, could you make this a poll? Please? (Yeah, I know I could do it as an Admin, but that wouldn't be very nice. So I'm asking.)

A few other suggestions:

Most Improved Rolepalyer....

Most evil character...

Most devious character: This goes to whoever has plotted to such an extent as to gain something of value whilst tricking or lying to others in order to do so (an IC award)

Best powerplayer: This goes to someone who technically powerplayed through something but to either an incredibly amusing way, or went unnoticed (this ones for the nit-pickers to find... Wink

)

Hero Award: Goes the character/person who made the most daring or self-sacrificial save (if necessary, can be awarded to one or more person if teamwork came into play)...

Funniest Thread/Comment/Post/Action: Exactly what it says, preferably in character. If it made you laugh and have surgery to seal your sides back together, it goes here Razz

)
