Medals for RP's

I have figured out a way to keep track of who's been in what RP.

Medals!

An RP of a decent lifespan can be Nominated for Medals, and a person set as that medals moderator. Said person decides a standard to judge who's been active in an RP and who hasn't, then awards medals according to that standard.

Example: I have created a Medal for those of hte Corporate Development RP. As the Medal's moderator, I decided that everyone who has posted 10 times in that thread should get the medal, and went through and calculated how many posts each person has made. Then, for those that have ten or more posts, they got metals. I kept a record of how many had what, because we had quiet a number who are just shy a post or two, so theres still hope to earn that medal.

Does it have to be 10 posts? NO! It's up to the Medal Moderator to decide. I just thought ten was a reasonable number for the lifespan of that RP>

Looks like a good idea. Of course, this could depend largely on how long the RP lasts. As it gorws, so does the # of posts. It may need to bend a bit over time. Otherwise, cool beans!

Maybe medals could be awrded because of a particularily good set of posts?

Great idea DP, makes it very easy to see who's been up to what.

Its also a good way to encorage people to get involved in more RP's (its why we're here afterall) and to remmeber to stay in those RP's.

As one of the people who probably needs the reminder I definately like it.

Well Goron, if you think we need some more, by all means please nominate a few threads that you think are deserving of medals. If I agree, I'll create a medal for it and set you up as the medal's moderator, so you can dish them out as you think they're deserved!

I nominate Meeting of the Minds, with a 'great imagination' award for those who have presented at least one creature.

I nominate the Training Dojo thread for those who develop their characters, and show an intersting fight and new ways of displaying their abilities.

It might encourage people to improve their rp skills, characters abilities (I said improve, not increase the number of! Very Happy

Heh, I went to the wrong RPs. Like addman and Shanon. At least I'm not the only one. I wonder if there can be an medal for those who don't earn a single medal by the year 2007 xD It could be called "I never earned a freakin' medal until 2007" xD

And after that, the new people that join can get a "I never earned a freakin' medal until 2008" and etc.

Here's another one: An 'Oops...' medal for people who screwed up in RPs. Like Fort for nearly destroying the multiverse, or Nate (I think) for nearly destroying the universe, that sort of thing Wink
