Laur Wilkins strolled along a road, and, still for an unknown reason to her, occasionally felt a small surge of energy within her, and turned to look at different people absent mindedly going about their own business.
She was on her way to work as a congresswoman. She had risen through the ranks quite quickly and had become rather well liked whist doing so by her colleagues, and the foreign representatives she regularly met. She liked doing her job, it gave her a sense of actual achievement when she went back home at night.

Recently, she'd heard that the new security systems at her place of work had finally been installed, which (for some reason that was beyond her caring) included a metal detector, so all she'd brought with her were her keys. She turned and opened the door into what looked like a large office building, entering through the door she nodded at the new guard posted to deal with anything the metal detectors found. She paused as the detector went off, showing the guard her keys, before placing them into a small bowl, and then walked through the device again, which, this time remained silent.
Then she smiled up at a camera she could see watching the next doorway, before she went through that one too, making her way towards a lift

Three guards are sat in the security office, watching over the newly installed security systems. So far they'd found approximately three guns, two knifes, and 6 mutants. It was the mutants who especially interested them. They had been hired by a secret organisation with a lot of ties and powers to most governments of the planet. Their boss, who spent most of his time not revealing herself to anyone was apparently stationed at this government building.
They had an e-mail address, that for all intense purposes, had proven untraceable, that they had to send pictures of mutants to, and as far they could tell, the recipient received them via a PDA, which almost everybody in this building had.
Copying the images of all 6 mutant employees, and a copy of the file to the e-mail address, they continued their monitoring of all security systems.

Somewhere else within the building, a secretary, whose features could be quite easy to forget, could have been considered second in command to the buildings operations manager received an e-mail. Taking out her PDA, she downloads the incoming files and smiles. She knew she could manipulate all of them to a certain extent, but especially those that had beaten her to any desirable positions would be an extra special delight.

Leaving her posting, patching all calls through to a second secretary, she stands up and makes her way to Laur's office with a brown envelope, which contains a mobile phone, a letter telling to answer it, with a death threat otherwise.

At this time, Laur’s lift arrives to her destination floor she, and she walks out of the lift, through the myriad of a maze of the offices on her floor, before reaching her own, and enters it. She puts her stuff away and gets everything all neat and tidy, just the way she liked it, before sitting down. She noticed there was a camera in her office too. As far as she was concerned, whoever had set up this system must be beyond paranoid

Laur barely has time to get comfortable before she hears a polite knock on her office door. Sighing as she gets up, she makes her way over to it and opens it to a secretary who's name she could never remember, "What is it?" she asks as politely as she could to the secretary, which at this time of the morning was slightly aggressive.

The small lady, who appears to be of Asian origin, performs a short bow before addressing Laur, "Excuse me, Miss Wilkins, a letter was mistakenly delivered to the wrong office, and your secretary was not here, so, I thought it best to pass it onto you. It appears to be quite urgent." Smiling, she goes to pass the letter to Laur.

"Thank you", Laur smiles back as she accepts the letter, then makes her way back into her office and closes the door. Once she's back inside and sat down she frowns, wondering why if this was so urgent it had gotten to the wrong office. Laur would have started cursing peoples incompetence as she opened it but a mobile phone slipped out of it and onto the desk. Laur regards it then takes out the letter that had come with it, and starts to read. Her concern grows as she does. The letter told her that she had to answer the phone that had come with this letter as it would ring soon after she had gotten it, and that they would know if she didn't. If she didn't answer the phone, then her life would be forfeit.

The small secretary turned away as soon as Laur had received her letter. Making her way back to her own office, she informed her colleagues that she was going to have to step out for the rest of the day, as she would be required elsewhere. Unbeknownst to her, a letter of resignation had already been posted to her employers.

Leaving the building, she climbs into a black car with slightly tinted windows, which drives away to an unknown location.

One of the security guards from the security office had left for a crafty cigarette, when he was paged by one of his colleagues that Laur Wilkins' had received the letter, quickly expelling the smoke, and putting a cloth over the phone to distort his voice.

Laur had been staring at the letter for a few minutes, uncomprehending. Was this someone's idea of a sick joke? But, it sounded too serious to be one of those. Deadly serious, and Laur picked up the mobile phone in trepidation as it started to ring. Holding it up to her ear she managed to say, "H-hello?"

"Ah, Miss Wilkins, I am extremely pleased that you have answered. Before we go any further, we require to know one thing, what is your view on the mutant population...?"

Laur hesitates for a short while, she'd never really thought about it until now. That and the person on the other end had obviously distorted his voice. Was this about mutants then? Come to think of it, what was her view? "Well I never really thought about it before. I heard it was increasing though..."

The security guard kicks a can in anger, she was avoiding answering the question, "Miss Wilkins, we know it is increasing. Do you want to see this situation move in either direction. Your answer will dictate the rest of your life." Pausing, he amends his statement, "However long or short that may be...."

Laur looks flustered, they were threatening her again in a way, and they seemed to think they'd be controlling the rest of her life. Laur scowls as an unpleasant memory made it's way to the surface. Her brother, a mutant himself, had died simply because he'd met another. Exploded in fact, all over the place and she'd seen it all happen. Something... new and dangerous stirred for a brief second inside her before it went back to sleep, "My view is this, it should not be allowed to run rampant, some form of control should be taken", she waits, wondering what's going on and what this has to do with her.

The security guard smiles, "Your response is interesting. I think we can progress to the next stage. Shortly, an unmarked black car will arrive. Your office phone will ring. Answer it, the receptionist will tell you your taxi has arrived. Leave a note saying you are attending a private meeting. Should you say a word to anyone, you will suffer the consequences. Try to escape, your body will vanish without a trace. Follow the guidelines carefully, and everything will be fine."
He turns of the phone, drops it, and smashes it with his foot. He brushes it to one side into a pile of rubbish. He turns and goes back into the security area, waiting for Laur to walk by, a secondary cursory check would be required on exit.

Laur listens carefully to the instructions, and more threats, given to her before whoever was on the other end hung up. Figuring whoever they were didn't want her to leave the phone she tossed it in the bin after having destroyed some of the circuitry. The same for the letter, it was ripped up. She did this more for her own sake, as she took the threats seriously.
She was halfway in the process of writing the note when her office phone went off. Her secretary on the other end confirmed that a taxi had arrived for her, and Laur told the secretary to take any calls that came for her as she'd be in a meeting.
A few more minutes and the note was finished, looking and reading very genuine. Laur walked out of her office and back to the elevator, not talking to anyone. She was troubled but she endeavoured not to show it as she pressed the button for the ground floor.

After arriving Laur stepped back through the security check she'd originally entered the building through, then scanned the area for the unmarked black car. Spotting it easily Laur began to proceed over to it
One of the security guards at the entrance sees Laur, and as she begins to leave the check-in/out point, "Have a good day Miss. Wilkins", he gives her a smile and a nod. No signs would point to him being sincere or snide.

Giving the security guard a short, sharp look, nothing seems to register on his face. She forces a polite smile, as she wasn’t sure who is and isn’t watching her at this time.

The driver of the car had been informed that Laur was on her way. He steps out of his car and walks up to one of the back doors, and opens it up in preparation for Laur. The driver closes the door politely as Laur climbs inside and buckles herself in. The driver walks to his door, and climbs in, closing the door after him. He buckles himself in, and then, as he starts up the car, a visor rises up between the front and back compartments, severing of sound to either side.
As the driver begins to drive away, a gas with no scent begins to pump silently into the back, powerful enough to knock out Laur.

Approximately, three hours later, the car pulls up at an unknown location, which is the nice side of the Humans Against Mutants Facility. Another scentless gas is pumped into the back, to wake up Laur, it would seem like minutes have gone by. The driver steps out, and knocks on Laur's window, as if to speculate she fell asleep of her own accord.

Laur blinks as she wakes up, a thumping in her head seemed to be waking her, no, someone was knocking on the window and there really was pounding in her head. She'd fell asleep in the back of a car? She never did that. Must've been the strain she thought. Laur sits up, awkwardly and holds a hand to the side of her head, waiting for the pounding to go away. "I'm coming, I'm coming" she says, unbuckling herself, and moving to the door and getting out. Though it seemed to her like the journey had been very short, she was in an area of the city that she didn't recognise, in front of a building that she also did not recognise.

"Am I to go in there?" she asked, just to be sure. If she set off in the wrong direction they might get it into their heads that she was trying to escape. Although, her question is soon answered, as, with a slight hiss, two large metallic double doors begin to open, venting gasses in a white mist from both sides. They awkwardly open up at first, slowly. At first, there's only blackness in between the thin slice of the doors, but as they open up much wider, a large cyborgnetic man stands there, who slightly tilts his head towards her.

With that, the driver closes the passenger door once she was out of the way and then walks with a pace to his own door. Climbing in, he slams the door shut and reverses away, turning the car, as to allow him to drive away, which he does, quickly. Laur watches the 'delivery boy' drive away fast, his nervousness unnerving her even more.

The cyborgnetic man steps forwards, scanning her upper most thoughts, and her physical structure, relaying everything back to the main frame, and with a 60% accuracy, they hazard a guess at her abilities. He gestures her to step towards him as he takes a step to one side to allow her to walk inside of the facility.
On either side are two scanning devices for hidden weapons and abilities. With many security guards posted around. At first it's just a long corridor, that continues ahead, and either side. All of the directions look as though they lead to different sets of offices, with guards posted near each one.

Out of two of the doors, two congressmen step out, sweating and shaking and rapidly nodding their heads, they look as if they know the drill, and walk out quickly past Laur, acting as if they don't know her. Just as they step onto the arrivals car park, a grey car pulls up. Laur was going to call out to them, when she noticed the looks on their faces. She watches as they get in either side of the car, before it drives away.
The security guards on hand leer at Laur, as if to mock her.

This cyborgnetic person that was looking at her wasn't helping with her nervousness. Laur takes a deep breath, stepping towards the cyborg and passing him, walking in through the doors. Looking around, Laur notices the security guards leering at her, apparently they wanted to mock her. Laur raises an eyebrow at them as she progresses. Laur lowers her head slightly as she walked. What was it she'd gotten herself into?

The cyborgnetic person says nothing, as he continues to scan her physical attributes and features. Something makes him stop temporarily, as if he's receiving an important message. He turns to look at her, "It appears that you have impressed the boss. He's going to meet you himself. You should think yourself lucky."
Laur experiences a moment of slight confusion as the cyborg tells her she's impressed the boss.
He walks onwards to the apparently 'dead end'. He moves his hand to a point in the wall and waits a few seconds. The 'dead end' dissipates, revealing what appears to be an warehouse. Immediately in front of them is a walkway that goes across a large drop to the bottom of the warehouse.

It's not a normal warehouse, alongside both sides of the warehouse are an innumerable number of cages, each with people inside of them. Some withered, some dying, some looking seriously ill, and some looking as if they've just arrived.
Her feeling of confusion is, however given way almost immediately to awe as they reach the end of the corridor, the view from the top down of all the cages is rather spectacular. Intimidating and vertigo inducing certainly, but spectacular nonetheless.

Laur looks down at the cages as they walk across the bridge, frowning slightly. Someone was here, someone she knew. She knew he was here. She wasn't entirely sure how she knew, but she did. Often, she'd walk into a place and immediately know whether people she collectively liked or disliked where there, even when she couldn't see them.

On the far side of the walkway is a door. Through this door is another set of offices, and two lifts, one on either side. Going further forwards is a turn to a third 'lift' that actually moves backwards by about 15 metres and opens up to Till Doyle's office. There are no guards here as anyone who makes it this far is almost certainly dying, and they wouldn't be able to do a single thing if they did get this far.

Stepping into the lift with Laur, he presses a button, before entering a code onto the lifts numerical keypad. As the door closes, Laur has to wonder where they’re going. Then, suddenly, the lift moves, however, it’s momentum suggests that it’s moving backwards.

However, his office appears to have been rearranged for some reason, part of the floor space had been cleared. Till sits facing the lift entrance from behind his desk. In front of it, is a short lady, with short black hair wearing a Japanese style dress, except with extra plumage, long flowing drapes, which is a shiny blue colour facing Till.

Her thoughts were interrupted as they stopped at the third 'lift' and the boss's office appeared. Floor cleared, obviously moved recently with a stocky looking man sitting behind it and an Asian woman in front of it with her back to her

Collator steps off to one side of the lift as Till sits back, no words spoken. He raises an eyebrow and looks at Collator, who speaks instead, "Allow me to introduce you to Till. You're not much yet are you? I believe you know Fin Fin."

She turns around, and lo behold, it's the small Asian secretary. In each hand she has metallic looking fans. With a flick of each wrist, they both open to their fullest, the edge of them slightly bladed. Taking a martial arts stance, she begins to waft herself gently.

Collator points to a rack on the wall, "Choose your weapon. If you do not win this fight, expect things worse than death." He folds his arms, making himself look bigger. He watches Laur carefully. Till clasps his hands together, waiting.

Laur listens as the cyborg talks. So this man was called Till, and Fin Fin was the... secretary that had given her the letter. The one whose name she'd thought exotic but could never remember when she saw her.

Laur would frown, but she doesn't, instead looking at the rack the cyborg had indicated for a weapon or two. Well, if the goal was simply not to lose, then she'd take every advantage she could get. And thanked that she had some skill with weapons, and a lot of skill with things such as bows and guns. But a bow wouldn't help here, and she could see no guns. Laur takes down a short sword, and two daggers.
Fin Fin watched as Laur walked towards the weapons rack, and seeing her grab a throwing dagger alerted her straight away.
One dagger is thrown at Fin Fin immediately after Laur gets hold of it, and through a complicated sliding motion, with a spin of her fans, the dagger clangs and drops to the ground. Whilst Fin Fin was spinning around, the short sword now in her right hand and the small dagger in her left, Laur spins round, the short sword going straight for Fin Fins neck.

Fin Fin realises quickly that there's a sword aiming for her neck. Quickly ducking down with a spin, her feet moving into correct stances very quickly and with skill, she brings the fans around in a semi-circular arc to cut Laur’s torso.

Laur is observant as ever she was, as ever she will be, for it always pays to be aware. As Fin Fin swings her fans semi-circular motion Laur simply steps backwards, bringing both her weapons up. The small dagger would enter the hole in the first fan, the short sword brought up to block the second as it comes past.
Laur twists the dagger inside the fan to try and force Fin Fin to let go of it, the short sword starts sliding forwards in a stabbing motion towards Fin Fins chest.

Fin Fin lets go of the fan and moves back with rapid small steps looking both shocked and annoyed. Till raises an eyebrow, not giving anything away.

Collator's human-cyborgnetic chest heaves as he takes long, deep breaths. He continually scans both Laur and Fin Fin, predicting movements, and gauging basic skill levels.

Fin Fin, taking a different approach, raises a hand up into her hair and removes two dagger like thin metallic hair pins, and, holding them between her fingers, brings them back to her shoulder, and then flings them at Laur.

As soon as she does so, she begins to flail her clothing around, making seemingly random movements like a smokescreen, never quite revealing where she starts and her clothing ends. With a small run, jump and spin, she goes to kick Laur in chest letting out a yell.

Laur watching Fin Fin change her tactics brings her short sword round to block the pins. it is a half successful manoeuvre, blocking one but not catching the other in time, which promptly sank into her torso and drew first blood.

To make things worse, the small Asian woman then started apparently randomly flailing about, making it impossible for Laur to see where clothes ended and Fin Fin began. Upon slightly closer observation Laur could see they were not random, but an intricate pattern made to confuse the opponent

As Fin Fin runs, jumps and spins Laur is caught squarely in the chest by the small Asian, taking her off balance. Laur goes down to the floor, and, just before Fin Fins feet make it to the floor Laur sweeps her legs under small woman. She hoped to send her off balance as well. It would give Laur a chance to get back up

Fin Fin was prepared to make a successful landing until Laur swept her feet at the last moment. She makes an awkward landing, almost banging her head on the floor. Yelling "Ugh" as she bangs her fist on the floor, she glares at Laur, as she tries to spin her body to get into an upright position, her clothing trailing and flapping over Laur, accidentally leaving herself temporarily vulnerable.

At this Collator nods.

Laur finally spotting a real opening just as quickly, brings the short sword round to stab Fin Fin while she tried to get up. Laur was aiming to pin the small woman to the ground with it. At the same time as a (hopefully) added certainty the small dagger in her other hand was brought next to Fin Fins neck. The dangerous thing that had stirred before stirred once again, making Laur really lust to kill this woman
Laur can hear something about 'incapable fighters' and 'both being taken to the cages' but she keeps her hands steady.

The blade slashes through the fabric, and becomes entangled, so that as she spins, the blade is yanked awkwardly. This in turn stops Fin Fin from spinning, and she stops, face to face to Laur, knife pointed at her throat.
Till remains silent and unmoving, watching carefully.
Fin Fin, sneers, and blows in Laur's eyes, hoping to temporarily make her close her eyes giving her chance to move...
Laur’s eyes sting, they sting a lot, but Laur simply narrows them. Sneering back at Fin Fin she gives in to the dangerous thing and goes to slash the small Asians throat with the small dagger.

Barely dodging the attack with the dagger, the side of her throat is cut, and begins to bleed profusely. Holding her neck, she stares wide eyed into Laur's eyes, who returns the stare, before Fin Fin staggeringly falling onto her knees, and then onto her front.

Collator looks at Till, who nods. Moments later, some scientists quickly run into the room, via the lift, and place Fin Fin onto a stretcher, and run back into the lift. Laur stands up and watches the scientists leave with Fin Fin.

Till smiles, clasping his hands says "Schließlich ein Ergebnis. Sichern Sie Flossenflosse, ist, hat als diskutiert behandelt. Nehmen Sie sie zu den Labors. Erforderliche Blutproben. Einführung zum Bienenkorbgemüt. Und ihr bewusstes von ihrem Status. Ich will ihr bereites, in haben, ach, 2 Stunden."

Collator nods and walks up to Laur, "We have an appointment to keep..." With that, the lift doors ping open.

Listening to the German spoken by the boss but not understanding it, Laur holds the now bloody dagger up to her eyes, studying it as Collator approaches her and talks in English.
Laur drops the dagger where Fin Fins blood had already made a mess of the room, figuring they wouldn't want her carrying weapons around. She turns to see the lift doors open, and does her best to pull the hair pin out of her torso, dropping that with the dagger, she starts to walk out.

Collator steps back into the lift, and without pressing anything, the door closes, and the lift begins to drop. As it descends, for what seems like an eternity, about three minutes later, the lift stops, as the doors open, a series of lab tables, and extra offices fall into view.
White coated men bumble around busily, testing blood, other fluids and studying cells of various kinds. Each of the offices have blinds drawn, so that no unauthorised personnel see what is happening.
Laur waits in the lift with the cyborg until the lift stops, looking out upon the lab tables and blinds drawn offices. Somehow, she already knows there are people behind those blinds.
Collator walks down to one of the closest ones, and opens the door, a man stands there with a needle in hand and two needles on the table. One containing a clear fluid. One containing a brown fluid. Laur following behind Collator, looks at the scientist with the needle walks into the room.
Turning to Laur, "We require a blood sample. I am sure coming this far you would be quite willing."
Laur nodded once in agreement, as the cyborg had said, she was quite willing.
Collator pauses, and almost as a by note, "Do you know why we asked you to come to this facility?"

This sentence puzzled her slightly, "Asked? I was under the impression if I didn't come, I'd 'suffer the consequences' or my 'body would vanish without a trace'. And no, I don't know why you wanted me to come here"
As Laur responds to Collators comment, the scientist steps forwards, just as he pricks her arm with the needle, Collator allowing a thin smile to form upon his lips, "Hahmmph. I see Till hasn't quite yet managed to learn etiquette."
As the scientist begins to draw blood, "You should, how can I put this lightly, be extremely careful around him. He is, very rarely wrong. His temper is, untempered you may say...."

The scientist withdraws the needle, and dabs the puncture with some cotton buds. Seconds later, another scientist walks in, and collects the needle and walks out of the room, almost as if on cue. Collator watches as he bumbles out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Laur slightly winces at being pricked, but she listens to Collator and observes what is going on around her. She keeps a mental note to be careful around Till, and observes the second scientist leaving the room.
Just before he does so, in the adjacent room, lies a middle aged man, all of his veins pushing to the surface, with a grimace on his face.
She slightly raises an eyebrow at the middle aged man with the pulsing veins that she already knew was there, but doesn't say anything about it. Content for now, just to observe and listen.
Collator turns back to look at Laur, "You were asked earlier about the mutant situation. I myself am, slightly mutant, save for the fact of what you see now. Till found me, useful. You may say those who aren't, go away.…”
Laur listens as Collator explains that he is slightly mutant, and about the useful people.
“You can feel people can't you? You can't explain why....." As he pauses, the scientist jabs Laur with the clear needle, pushing the fluid in.
She speaks in the pause just before the scientist pushes the second needle into her arm. "Yes... How'd you know?"

The scientist jabs her arm for the second time with a second needle, this time fluid was pushed in rather than taken. This time Laur does visibly wince, before a strange sensation overtook her...
As Laur looked around the room started to violently spin, causing her to lose her equilibrium. Laur’s hand sought to steady herself on the table, but it missed and Laur fell to the floor on her side. Then something worse happened. Suddenly Laur could 'feel' everyone. Not just everyone in this room, but everyone in this entire facility. She knew where everyone was, when they moved, when they stopped, when they went between levels. She could even tell what gender they were. She could almost see them in her head, the mutants being bright lights with over strength feelings, humans much less so. And one she couldn't quite make out, though she knew he was sitting at the desk in the office she'd been in earlier. He felt completely different to the rest...

Suddenly the feelings became claustrophobic, all these people she could sense. Too many people and powers for her mind to cope with, far too many. Laur clutched her head, screwing up her face in agony she let out a scream.
Then shortly afterwards the feelings went away, her power back to it's normal state. Laur staggeringly got up, grasping the desk for support as she wobbled. "I am... I am... a mutant..." She breathed, for the first time truly realising what she was

Collator had merely stood and watched as Laur fell to the ground, waiting for her to stand back up, as she did so, "You reacted to the booster better than most. You must have unconsciously been using powers for many years. You may have not realised it at the time, but you may have gone not to where you normally find them, but to where you could feel to find them. Interesting. Till is more observant than I originally estimated."

As she realised what she was, "Yes, yes you are. How does that feel, To be considered scum. The only reason you are alive now, is because Till may find you useful yet." Pausing, he scans her, making sure she is healthy enough for the last procedure, "There is one more thing we require. It will allow you to monitor, and be monitored by everyone in this facility, apart from Till.......
We require you to join the hive mind. All that you need to know, and want to know, will be in there." He points at Laur’s head. The scientist readies his needle, "Do you accept?"
As an after thought, "While you consider your answer, please, enlighten me about you brother......."

Laur slightly shook her head to try and get rid of the dizziness, while Collator talks about what she is and that Till might find her useful. Now painfully aware of what she is, no longer able to deny it she starts to loathe herself. She listens to the rest of what he has to say, surprised that the cyborg knew about her brother. She takes a deep breath before answering, still holding onto the table for balance. "My brother was a mutant too. His power was...volatile, too volatile for his housemates to cope with so he moved in with me. Someone, another mutant, approached him one day while we were home. He knew what he was, he said something about getting him to learn how to control his powers, and then held his hand out for my brother to shake"

Laur pauses, gathering her thoughts together. "My brother took the other mutants hand, and then he, sort of, started swelling up. Fire consumed his skin and he just exploded. Exploded, right in front of me... I was so shocked and angry I kicked the mutant out of the house before he could say anything else to me" She pauses again, standing upright. Remembering the feeling she'd had earlier, "The mutant that did this to my brother is in this facility. In the cages we passed over earlier. I want to make him, all of 'my fellow mutants'" here she spits, for she is something she has long loathed, a mutant "pay for what they did to him"
She calms herself down, but that dangerous thing is now wide awake and will never go back to sleep. "I accept. I will join this hive mind and attempt to prove my usefulness to Till"

Collator listens carefully as Laur explains about her brothers history, nodding his head as she listens. Inside, he finds it quite amusing to meet a self-loathing mutant. He already knew why Till wanted her. Once she'd finished talking and accepted joining the hive mind, the scientist jabbed the needle with the dark fluid in, and inserts it into her veins. "Welcome to the H.A.M. No doubt you already know what that means. I am here myself, to, oversee security, and collect additional data."
Laur doesn't wince this time, listening to the cyborg as the darker fluid is inserted. She knows what H. A. M.  meant, Humans Against Mutants, the secret organisation that had managed to spread rumour of itself without giving too much away.

He pauses, not wanting to lay all of his own cards on the table. "You will probably need to secure clearance through Till first before you are allowed to enter, or order personnel around. You are currently a member of personnel. However, Till wishes to see you shortly."
Calculating the hive mind should be kicking in about now, "You may want to take a seat...."

After being told his job and that she was a member of personnel, and that Till wanted to see her shortly, Laur takes his advice and takes a seat just before the scientist disappears.

The scientist rather quickly bumbles out of the room, closing the door behind him, and disappears amongst the numbers of the other scientists. "While you recover, I have a few things to attend to, I shall be back in 10 minutes..."

At first she doesn't feel anything, but then she felt strange. Even stranger than the booster, except this time she shouldn't end up on the floor. The strange sensation was in fact caused by a rapid sell of knowledge about this facility. Everything that everyone connected to hive mind with her knew, she knew too. Laur’s eyes closed as the huge jumble of information settled... Soon she found she could pick and choose where and what she wanted to know, or hear, or even see through another’s eyes.
Slowly a sense of being watched herself made itself known. Three others kept careful watch on everyone within this hive mind, and she could feel them

Outside, a bang is heard and scientists begin to yell as crashing and smashing happens outside, yells of "Get him, get him!" and "Stop him!" sound out. A scientist runs into the room with Laur and looks panicked, sweat pouring of his head. Not able to say anything, he babbles incessantly.
A scream of pain can be heard, followed by running footsteps.
As she slowly began to get used to this an uproar was heard outside. Laur slowly opens her eyes to see a scientist incessantly babbling at her and she was sure she'd heard someone say 'Stop him!'. Getting up and realising this scientist is going to be no help whatsoever she opens the door to take a look outside at what's going on

Outside the door, an unruly mutant has escaped one of the offices. Mutant dampening devices haven't been fully installed all over the entire complex as of yet. The mutant seems to have increased strength. Each time he hits someone, parts of him shed, and stick to the people, slowly dissolving top layers of skin. No security guards have reached the labs yet, even though they've been alerted and are three minutes away. Three of the middle range scientists have already been killed.
There is a weapons cabinet at the end of the corridor, several of the scientists have key card access to it, but are too busy bumbling around moving their experiments out of the way, or trying to unsuccessfully escape.
The mutant throws a desk at a scientist who ducks, as it crashes just in front of Laur into the wall.
Laur’s eyes widen at the damage this mutant has done, and at the strange way his skin sheds. Quickly making use of the hive mind she runs over to one of the scientists possessing a key card and puts her hand in his pocket, withdrawing the item while he bumbles about, "I need to borrow this" she says even though he probably wouldn't hear her and sprints to the end of the corridor where the cabinet is. She swipes the key card to hear a satisfying click and hiss as the door swings open to reveal a large array of weapons. Mostly guns. Laur would allow herself a smile but time was pressing.
She selects a simple handgun, and quickly inserts a clip into it, safety off Laur swings around as what she now knows to be her mutant powers warn her that the escapee is getting dangerously close. Laur takes a few seconds to get a perfect aim and fires two bullets, both at the other mutants legs. She did this so it would stop him but whatever tests they were doing on him could still be done.
The mutant falls, almost growling. Looking at Laur, he becomes extremely angry. He begins to pull himself along on his knees, getting closer to Laur. The scientists yell at her to get out of the way, not to let him touch them.
The lift ahead, behind the mutant is two levels away, but the mutant will be at Laur by the time the door opens....
Laur takes aim a second time, shaking off the shock that he was still moving. This time the bullet she fires is on a direct course for his forehead
The mutants eyes widen as he sees Laur take aim with the gun. His only option is to take a swing at her, as he raises his arm, she pulls the trigger, everything slows down as adrenaline surges through his veins, he sees the bullet leave the barrel spinning around, and then everything goes black as the bullet smashes through his cranium, and curdles part of his brain. He 'stands' there, momentarily, swaying, and then he falls forwards, just a couple of metres from Laur’s feet.
Slowly, the defences in his body that protected him from himself, break down, and his body begins to dissolve. The scientists look on, horrified. Slowly they look up at Laur, wide-eyed.

Then they turn to look at one of the other scientists, one of them, "What happened in there?! He was supposed to be restrained and incapacitated. What, couldn't you handle a simple task like that?!"
In response, he throws a punch at his aggressor, knocking him to the floor, looking around at the rest of the scientists, "He swapped the sedative with something else! I swear it!"
Laur watches the mutant start to dissolve right in front of her, if he'd been any closer... She shakes off the thought and observes the scientists turning on their fellow instead.

The lift door pings open, Collator stands there, arms folded, an eyebrow already raised as he collects the necessary data from the current and previous events. Four armed response personnel standing around him, guns aimed outwards, checking the area. Running out, they secure the body and await further instruction.
Collator takes a step out of the lift, but doesn't go far enough, to allow it close. "Laur, Till is expecting us..."
Laur, calming her breathing even while a punch is thrown, the lift opens and armed guards race out after all the excitement, Laur looks to Collator and nods, "Right", she moves around the dissolving body and guards carefully towards the cyborg in the lift, entering it. The gun is tightly clutched in one hand, pointing downwards.

As the lift doors begin to close, Collator booms towards the scientists, "Tighten security, and, make sure the report is filed in my in-tray. His DNA was important! I will have you dealt with later"
As the lift begins to ascend, "I see you have reacted quite well to your powers, and the hive mind. I expect you have found all that you need to know. On another note, where did you learn to shoot like that?" He raises an eyebrow questioningly, considering she's currently a prolific congresswoman.

Laur slightly, slowly relaxes her hand on the gun as she attempts to make herself less shook up. She looks at Collator as the lift ascends and he asks her about her shooting skills, "My parents were... concerned about my safety, so as soon as I was old enough they sent me to train on how to use weapons properly. Once I was older and started becoming more, important, I continued the courses myself. And took as many courses on the proper use of any weapon as possible. Guns and bows turned out to be the ones I used with the most skill. You could say I'm a natural”.

Collator listens, but makes no response for the next thirty seconds of the journey. As the doors ping open, it appears as though the office has been cleansed, the table slightly more forward, and the weapons rack seems to have been put away.

Till is looking out a window behind his desk, that was not previously there. To the sides of the windows are two large monitors, split into different images of sections of the facility. At least four of the twelve individual images are of some sort of training or testing facility.
Turning around, he looks at Collator who has stood out of the lift, and stepped up close to Till's desk. Till raises an eyebrow, maybe he doesn't like Collators position, or maybe he's waiting for Collator to speak. Either way, Collator speaks first, "Reactions to both syringes were successful. I feel she may be an extremely useful asset. There was a request..."

Till looks at Laur again, up and down, "Velcome Miss Vilkins. You're an intelligent voman. I vould expect you to know vhy you have been brought here. I have a task for you. Zere iz a mutant zat needs transportation. I only require you to ezcort him to ze location. Full details vill be passed onto you vhen you arrive..."

Intresting story,i enjoyed reading it.I'm waiting for the next chapter, but my only little nag is the size of it.Cuting it down a bit may make it a little easier to read, but other then that you've got a brillant story going.

So I see, SFOT

Hmmm, perhaps a second chapter would be appropriate.
