Ok, so I need the other judge(s) opinion on Rule 9. I'm kinda torn.
On one hand, I want to make it fair for each person.
On the other, we can expect a certain degree of uncertainty in a real RP, and sport is supposed to be a metaphor for life.
So, what be your opinion. Do we allow people to use as many characters as they can muster, allowing them to call upon them at will, or do we limit. I'd especially like Kat's opinion, considering she helped write these rules. _________________

Like I said before, as long as the multiple characters don't clash with a rule I dont' have a problem with it. For my part in making the rule, I was kinda hoping that would clarify that multiple characters would be allowed, within reason.
A lot of competing RPers are using the character they're most comfortable with, and extra characters are often a base part of some of those characters (such as Danikat and her dragons, had she chosen to compete, or Shaon if she uses Churi in the team tourney). We're making an extra challenge for people who use this style, and that may make the competition a bit lopsided.
Like I said, we're judging the RolePlayer, not a character, so one questionis whether the "singles" and "team" titles refer to the player behind the computer or in it. I always assumed it was the person, since that's who's doing the work and possibly getting the reward (as opposed to inventing an awsome RP weapon/power to award a winning character, which hasn't been done).
The possibility of multiple characters also adds a new dimension to the battles, and has the potential to make them a lot more entertaining. It also would give a judge extra to go on. Example:
---Player A begins the battle vs Player B with 2 characters. If Player A can handle both characters well, it'd show more skill than just doing well on one, particularly if the characters have clashing personalities. If a competetor thought to have the characters fight each other while both characters were after Player B, it'd show a lot of talent. On the other hand....
---Player B might do just fine against one opponent, but could he/she handle two? Say the multiple characters weren't the most impressive or powerplayed a lot. Player B would need to be very good in the art of RolePlay to handle powerplaying from more than one source without responding with a powerplay themself. Player B would also need more substantial posts than normal because they'd be fighting twice as much. The more they post, the more material there is to judge by.
Also, by not banning multiple characters we completely sidestep tricky characters such as Shaon's weapon (Fenrir). She'd argue it's just a weapon, and an RPer is allowed to use whatever weapons they want. On the other hand, Fenrir would be considered a seperate character when he's able to have a personality. _________________ If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed.
