Lifa

This is the first chapter, but I just want opinions at this point. I know it sounds a lot like the world of FFVII, mostly because they're based on the theme of life and the idea that it's a continuous cycle, but more differences will emerge if you think it's pretty good and I continue it. The first chapter's also hard to follow.

His grandmother had died the morning before. It was a good death, and she had been a good person. A stream of green colour particles had flown from her pores upwards, towards the sky, while her body dissolved. All that had remained of her were her clothes, which were later burnt and the ashes scattered, as per tradition on Reni, the fifth planet from its local sun. Few really knew what the planet did with the particles emitted by people at death, though many knew that for each two people who died, another was created, as was proved by the recent decline in population.

He'd taken a journey to the Outer Ring of the futuristic city of Lund. The Outer Ring was the least developed area of Lund. People in the Ring still had cars with wheels, that they'd customized to run on the cheapest legal Koho fuel. Koho was a substance extracted from the core of Reni using gigantic drills. It was a very sticky, green goo. Some legends told that Koho was the expent and recharging energy of the dead, made of the green particles that had stuck together through lack of energy, and fallen back into the planet.

He looked out over the city's plains. They were completely still, except the highway running due south-west. All the people on Reni clumped together in large amounts in far-apart cities and towns. They liked to remain close-nit in their city gangs and tribes. Lund was situated at the very North-East of the continent Plaz. In the olden days, back when new cars had wheels, and people shipped goods by boat, and Koho hadn't been discovered, Lund had been a bustling dock city, filled with ships daily, loading and unloading goods to be shipped to other cities and towns in Plaz. When the futurisation took place, a man named Mr. Koho from Lund set up a company to find alternate energy sources. He found Koho, and named it after himself. Plaz Koho Mining Corp became the largest corporation in Plaz in a very short space of time, and began spread to other continents. In general, however, Lund's job remained much the same. Airships were developed in Lund that took the job of the old ships and did them much faster, carrying more cargo than the ships ever could've done.

He said his very last goodbyes to his grandmother, who was now floating away in the Circle of Life, or Lifa Ring, and got back on his bike. He had to get home.
