An Introduction

Good morning. My name is Archer, though the few I associate with generally call me Arc. I come to this forum as a lowly apprentice, willing to be taught in the art of roleplaying. I have been roleplaying with friends for some time but I am always striving to improve my skills. I believe this may be the place for me to shine.

How I found this site is of very little importance.

I enjoy reading and writing down my thoughts. I also take part in archery, hence my name.

My level of English always seems to be a notch above those who I associate with, and for this I apologise. I've been called a Grammar Nazi on several occasions.

I sincerely hope to make new friends here and to hone my roleplaying skills. It will be a pleasure getting to know you all, I'm sure.

Hello, Archer! I don't think you need to worry about being a Grammar Nazi (here they are often called Nit Pickers, there is even a species with that name) so long you're not crazy about it. Oh, have a canned greeting.

Don't be too worried about being a Nitpicker, we welcome all types of story weavers here. The only problem I can see is that we already have one resident Nitpicker, 3kul, and you never know what he could say about the matter.

Anyway, if you are as interested in Archery as your name suggests, you can easily craft a bow and some arrows in our shops system. Just gather a log, make a plank at the mill, then grab some sinew from the farmer's market. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Excellent! Your Grammar Nazism will fit in perfectly around here. Obviously, proper grammatical conduct is important when roleplaying in text. Ever striving to improve yourself is important as well; it is what got me to where I am today! Which is mostly just a crotchety old geezer reminiscing about the good old golden days, but that's not the point! Anyway, welcome! Make yourself at home. You'll fit right in, I'm sure.

I have one request, that is to hold onto my sanity for the moment. I kind of need it considering the line of work I've chosen for this summer. I'll be sure to keep my sanity-sealing earplugs firmly in place during each visit, however.

And I'll pass on the "welcome wagon", Raven. That sounds altogether too ominous for my liking. D:

I'm usually only pedantic about my own grammar and I hold back from scolding others, because it never wins me any friends... I just like my grammar and the grammar around me to be as perfect as possible, but I have to acknowledge the existence of human error and of course those dastardly typos as well.
