Okay, I know I'm quite likely to be out of the loop on a whole heap of things, but this one seems to have gone unposted here, so I thought I'd post here to let people know about it. Of course, if it has already been posted elsewhere please let me know and I'll delete this thread.

Oh yes, I'm still here.

I would love to see Blackstar restored. I've been there with every project to help fix it up or move it or replace it, using my mod powers when It is based here, and *hopefully* giving morale support when it's not.

I would love to help run it, even thought there are much better people for the job, but my main drawback is my lack of coding knowledge. I currently wouldn't know what to do with all the coding bugs on Blackstar, but if that is somehow removed from the equation or I can be taught what to do?


I know I really am not the best guy for this but would like to give all I can if I can.

I'm sorry this isn't too long, but I just wrote a 9 page essay for finals and am kinda bummed from writing.

I thought you'd probably be one of the more likely candidates for this CP, given that you were sort of on the inside the last time that DP was considering revamping Blackstar. I don't think that coding knowledge really matters so much, as you can always find staff later to help you with that side of things, or if you're really keen you could probably ask DP to point you towards some tutorials and teach yourself.

For now I think that enthusiasm would be the most important quality that DP would be looking for. There's plenty of things that you can do without coding at all (such as removing or hiding sections of the forums, purging the memberlist to get rid of inactive members, send mass e-mails to coax oldbies to return, etc.), and even if you don't have the skills to do so just yet it can never hurt to have some sort of long term vision to aim for.

Take all of this with a grain of salt though, it's not like I've spoken to him about it or anything.

I'd recommend contacting him via e-mail or MSN, as I don't believe it's all that likely that he'll see this thread... I'm not entirely sure if he actually even knows that it exists, come to think of it, and he's usually a pretty busy guy anyway.

Ah the joy of high-speed, finally I can listen to something while I thinking. Oh, I have been at Haysu before my exams started (which are already over, obviously) and attempted to compile a decent profile; however, that is were I to fall at...

Hmmm, God of Blackstar? As intriguing the offer may be, unless I develop the ability to sleep two hours a night, I doubt I'll be able to run Blackstar during school. Even with Biology being an interest of mine, when you try to cram seven chapters in one day for a preview gives one a migraine. Nah, I'll step away from the spot light for now. Agoeb/Coolpikaaa desires it much more than I.

That doesn't mean I wont aid the Dojo. It might be better to recreate a fresh board of the same world to avoid the numerous defects of this one. Also, I might have someone from my school that is somewhat interested in this site. The problem being that he doesn't want to type that much, rather than talk out loud about his characters.

It has saddened me to see the Dojo go silent over the past year or so...and the truth is, I'm as much to blame for that as the next person. I've wanted to see it make a comeback, as I'm sure pretty much everyone else here has. The simple fact is, though, that we've grown up. Our interests steadily change, and the real world consumes so much more of our time than it once did.

Spring quarter just ended at college, so until I get a job in a month or two, I'll be pretty much wide open. I will do what I can here.
