Kazumaru stared at the egg.
The egg stared at Kazumaru.
"Alright, egg..." Kazumaru said, addressing the egg on his table. "You don't like me, and I don't like you."
The egg stared at Kazumaru.
"But you're going to hatch." The spirit tented his fingers. "Oh, yesss... You're going to hatch."
The egg stared at Kazumaru.
Kazumaru whipped a heat lamp out of his coat and slammed it on the table. He flipped the power switch and aimed it at the egg.
The egg stared at Kazumaru.
"HAAAAAAAAAATCH!" Kazumaru bellowed, his voice rattling the beakers nearby.
The egg stared at Kazumaru.
"Curses, I was sure that would work..." Kazumaru said, beginning to pace back and forth.
The egg stared at Kazumaru.
"Stop mocking me, you dastardly staring egg!" Kazumaru shouted, pointing at the egg. "Stop mocking and start hatching!"
The egg stared at Kazumaru.
"THE BELLS!" Kazumaru exclaimed, spinning on his heel and grabbing some bells from a nearby shelf.
The egg stared at Kazumaru.
Kazumaru began playing his best rendition of the drum solo from YYZ on the bells, grinning insanely as he did.
The egg stared at Kazumaru.
"Fine. You know what? Don't hatch. Just be a stupid egg. A stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid-egg!" Kazumaru pouted.
A crack began formed on the egg, and Kazumaru squealed with delight.
The crack spread across the egg, spiderwebbing the entire shell, before finally shucking off.
"YES!" Kazumaru exclaimed.
When the shell-dust cleared... another egg sat on the table, only slightly smaller than the previous one.
"NO!" Kazumaru exclaimed.
The egg stared at Kazumaru.
Kazumaru facepalmed.
The egg stared at Kazumaru...
