A God Dies: The story of the death of the God-King Dau'Pay

((For the moment this is a private RP/story between myself and Shaon. There will come a point where those who have immortal characters can post in a battle, but we need a plot to form first. This is THE Prequel to DoaG, and should explain Au'Marui's and Paranesia's future actions in Immortal Injustice))

The rain was pouring down in the Dojopolis town square. To call it rain was a misnomer, as it was actually Olive Oil pouring from the clouds today - but at least it was liquid.

A man clad in a white cloak made his way to the fountain through the rain. He was running a bit late, he knew, but DP knew his...acquaintance would wait. She has before. As he approached the fountain he saw her. The fox was sitting on the fountain's edge, peering at the humanoids busling around in the rain. She had always chastized him for having a closer relationship to these people than most gods would advise, but he had his reasons for it.

"Glad to see you got my message," He said to the fox, "I thought for sure you weren't going to show. And we really need to talk."

She had been waiting for scarcely seconds-- or, at least, that was what it seemed. Her sight ran far, to wherever there were eyes, and, as such, she was always watching, always waiting. She had only appeared as soon as Au'Marui -- Dau'Pay, whatever he was going by these days -- would have been able to see her.

The rain that fell on her immediately turned to mist with a sizzling noise, fading away to join the cloud that was her true form.

"Glad to see you got my message," the man said as he approached the fox looming over him, "I thought for sure you weren't going to show. And we really need to talk."

His worries were, indeed, valid. Their alliance was a very tenuous one, a vestige from the distant past in which the fox was a cat.

~An enemy of my enemy is a friend,~ she states, simply.

"Yes. Unfortunately I don't seem to have enough allies. " DP said, and then he started pacing back and forth before continuing.

"Have you heard about the resolution they High Council is pushing through? They plan to take control Blackstar - the world they think of as their "ark" - away from me? You'd almost think they had no idea what would happen to this world if they did that."

DP paused, as if thinking out load when he came to an epiphany.

"However, that is my problem. My Coalition is still to few - I have no hope of overturning this politically. Not when I've been painted as an imcompotent idiot by the High Council."

DP paused, and looked the vulpin in the "eyes"

"Look. I know you have no love for Chronos - and I'd personally like to see him end as well, but we both know that we cannot possibly take them on alone. I've got my coalition, but I'm not sure even that would be enough."

DP leaned in a little closer, resting his palms on the fountain's edge, and talks bearly above a whisper.

"But you've been up to something - I know you have. I've been watching you. You know the only God who has spent more time in Blackstar than you is myself? You've been up to something, haven't you? And I'd almost bet it has something to do with revenge on a certain "old" friend. "

At this point DP suddenly stands up, and resumes his pacing

"Well here's the deal. Neither of us can overthrow the Council alone. I want the spirits free, and the only way to do that is to get past the Council. You want Chronos' head, and the only way to do that is to get past the Council. So, how about we try to reach both our goals?"

He pauses, and again looks the fox in the eyes.

"Yes. Unfortunately I don't seem to have enough allies."

The fox remained silent, emotionless. Au'Marui picked opinions that opposed what many others thought; it was a simple conclusion that, as thus, not many would side with him in times of need.

Indeed, Paranesia had not heard of this. The vast majority of her allies, as well as herself, were unable to access any sort of news directly from the Immortal Realm. Anything they heard was a slow trickle, and it was to be expected that many things would never find their way into her knowledge.

"However, that is my problem. My Coalition is still too few - I have no hope of overturning this politically. Not when I've been painted as an incompetent idiot by the High Council.

Paranesia was, internally, quite surprised that Au'Marui seemed so proud about deducing this. Those plans were not the best hidden, for she had never felt any reason to hide.

"Well, here's the deal. Neither of us can overthrow the Council alone. I want the spirits free, and the only way to do that is to get past the Council. You want Chronos' head, and the only way to do that is to get past the Council. So, how about we try to reach both our goals?"

The goddess waited a few moments, pretending to think.
