Below are the types of shapeshifters, as gleaned from extensive study.

Before you go any further, know that "native form" means the form that the shapeshifter is born with. Liberas do not have a native form (see below).

First off, there are two major catagories for shapeshifters: Morphic, and Specie.

Morphic

Morphic shapeshifters can occur on any species. Morphics are not a species themselves, more like a breed to denotate the power of the creature. For example, a morphic dragon is not a species unto itself. It is a species in the same way that, say, an Earth Dragon is a species or a Lightning Dragon is a species.

Specie

Specie shapeshifters are shapeshifters that are species that revolve around shapeshifting. Therefor, all members of the species are shape shifters. A good example of this are Rafter Imps. There is no such thing as a Morphic Rafter Imps, because all of the Rafter Imp species can already shapeshift.

Both these catagories have the same catagories within them. They go as such:

Libera

Libera Forma: Shapeshifters that can shift into anything, and have no "native" form. Dijinn are Libera Formas.

Libera Forma Navitas: Same as Libera Forma, but these do not require any energy to shapeshift into anything. Some gods could be considered Libera Forma Navitas.

Bi, Tri, Quad, ect

Bi Forma: Shape shifters that only shape shift into two shapes. This is also counting their "native" shape.

Bi Forma Navitas: Shape shifter that can shift into two shapes without requiring energy. Can shift into other shapes, but require energy to do so.

Tri Forma/Forma Navitas, Quad Forma/Forma Navitas and so on also fall under these rules. However, Tris can shift into three, Quads can shift into four, so on and so on.

Ullus

Ullus Forma: Ullus forma are those that have a native shape, but can shift into anything without requiring any energy at all.

haud vis

Generally, a label added to any type of shapeshifter. If a shapeshifter is a haud vis, they can turn into non organic objects as well as organic.
