This is a topic where one would say the origin of their character's names.

Zerrer Ko'vag
I made up his entire name

Zerrer is a German surname that came to America around 1870.

Kov'ag, Zerrer's last name, was made up as well, and there is only one instance where it comes into play. There was a scenario for Conan, called "The black stones of Kovag-re"

Is it possible I had these names subconsciously implanted from these sources?

No idea.

Somefreakoverthere kinda speeks for itself. It's what I am, basicly. And Sfot started off as my online persona before she kinda became a character in her own right, developing a backstory and all.
She's actully one of my better characters, strangely enough, what with the way she came about.

Haven't we done one of these before?

Anyway, Cloud is taken from two words - Clo, meaning to consume greedily and Oud, meaning to take three medium sized sticks and dunking them all into a swamp whilst tap dancing on a mongoose.

Ok, maybe not but it sounds better than the actual origin.

How surprising! A lot of my character names have unintentional meanings.

An improperly pronounced Shaon means 'time' in Hebrew, and is also a common hindu name. I didn't know either of these when I chose the name.

Paramnesia is when you blend together fantasy and reality. I didn't know of this particular meaning when I derived Paranesia from it.

Kaimyr was a corruption of Chimera, courtesy of Embri, though Myr is Greek for one thousand or something. Kitfoal is a mashing of 'kit', a young fox, and 'foal', a young horse. Similarly, Kitsuma is a mashing of 'kitsune' and 'uma', japanese for fox and horse.

Satyr is named after the satyrs of mythology.

Chromis (since I named CP's character) is a corruption of chrome. Similar with Articus and artic.

Very Happy was named after the emotion. Pronounced 'Colon-dee', don'chaknow.

Sparkles was named as a joke. Someone wanted ideas for a character for their universe (some stereotypical good vs evil bull) so I came up with an electric fairy named Sparkles, who quickly spawned into the child of Kazumaru.

Zion is a mashing of two old irken sues I once had, 'Zon' and 'Con'.

Scurvy was originally ScurvyShaon, my pirate persona for ITLAP.

Kumo Jinrui is really bad japanese for 'Spider Human', using the improper version of human, but it sounds a lot cooler than Kumo Ningen.

Desdemona, a character I've been working with recently, is derived from the greek for 'ill-willed'. Mahlah means 'sick' in Hebrew.

Well, here's the rundown.

Cirrial
Cirrial is a mangled form of "cirrus", which is a type of cloud, and was my handle before I came up with Cirrial.

CAM-501
In a virtual world thingamabob called Second Life, I named every avatar I made. The first one I made was CAM-401, which was chosen mostly on the spot, and stood for "Corvine Automated Mechanoid", and the number was chosen at random. Then, after a while, I completely redid said avatar, giving it a much-needed graphical upgrade and several customised features. Originally, I was going to call it "CAM-402", but decided it was much better than that and added 100 instead of 1.

Now, the CAM stands for Corvid Automated Mechanoid. Corvine and corvid both essentially mean the same thing; related to crows, ravens, rooks, etc... As for why corvine or corvid, it's because the original avatar was meant to look like a robot crow/raven/rook/what have you.

Protoparagon
Protoparagon is a portmanteau of "proto-" and "paragon", where proto means first and paragon means the perfection of an ideal. Literally, Proto's name is "first perfection". Although the character really, really isn't perfect.
Far from it.

Naine and Goldie
When Incarnadine was once a budding RP forum, I suddenly decided I needed a character, jotted something down about a cyborg dolphin and came up with the random name of Naine. No, the name doesn't mean anything as far as I know. Goldie's a simple one - it's gold-coloured, and "goldy" looked worse than "goldie".

Serakree

Was originally going to be "Skree", then I thought it sounded too generic and fiddled about with letters. That's about it.

Giegue

You'll have to ask Shaon about that one, she's the main reason this character even exists. >_>

The origin of my characters name lies within my personal experience. Everyone I have known with 'Laur' included in their name has possessed the ability to be ynur best friend, or worst enemy if they think ynu've wronged them. The name suits her perfectly.

Well.

Ensichrys is latin. Ensi means sword and Chrys means golden. Ensichrys means "Golden Sword" (yes, there's a reason for this that you'll all see in an epic RP next year...)

Mortracta is also Latin. Mortum- death. Tract- grip. Mortracta means "Death Grip" for obvious reasons.

The Guivre is actually the name of a mythical creature who's description matched that of my Guivre's exactly with the exception that the Guivre of mythology was pure evil and pointlessly cruel, whereas my Guivre is fundamentally good, yet tragically mislead.

Alloexustio is also Latin (albeit poor latin). Allo- strange; Exustio- flame. Alloexustio means "Strange Flame" for the light in his eyes and the fire in his soul.

Nexus and Chronos are both concepts I'd been toying with for years until I stumbled across the game "Primal" in 2003. It seemed to be a miracle, as it was like that final piece of information you receive before a difficult math problem finally becomes clear. It was exactly what I'd been trying to think about/express for years. The Nexus as a type of machine with the god of time as ruler. I took both concepts and base all my writings off the new belief I created from the two.

HollowEyes - entirely made up, simply because it sounded cool.

Little Sister - meant to be a nickname given to her by HollowEyes, but it caught on and I liked using it better than her real name. Comes from the fact that she's physically smaller than HollowEyes, she's not younger than him (they're the same age, for those of you who don't know).

Serpells - a street name that I keep seeing everytime I go to visit some relatives of mine. It struck me as a decent name, for some reason.

Genkaku - chosen from a small string of names that Shaon suggested. I can't remember what it means, but it's Japanese for something like 'hallucination' or 'illusion'.

Parasitian names in general (including Serpells' minions) - entirely made up, chosen based on how interesting they sound.

Noten - obviously derived from the word 'nothing'.

There's probably a couple I've forgotten, so I might post again later.

KC11:

Well, KC11 started out as my Docking Station name. I needed a DS username, and I just wanted to quickly come up with one. I was 11 at the time, and my initials are K.C., so I came up with KC11.

Soon, I met the forums. And an RP by Neverwinter introduced me to roleplay. I roleplayed as a dragon known as Safire (she's still one of my characters, albiet dusty from lack of roleplaying). Eventually, I decided to make a character based off my username. This character took a lot of the persona off my early Safire, and so KC11 was born.

Fun Fact: Did you know that my ava was actually based on how I saw Safire, not KC11? And that the ava (when it was on creatures caves) used to be purely purple? One day, I decided to celebrate winter by giving my dragon a coating of scales and.... I liked the look so much I kept it that way!

Sek:

Not roleplayed much. Mostly involved in my Arkinda Fanfic. Sek's name is just something I randomly came up with inside my head. I suppose it sounds kinda egyption, but I'll see if there's any....

Nope. Nothing found on any site as to what the name means or what the name is based in.

I think I might name one of my daughters Sek. Just so that she'll be the only person in the world with that name. Very Happy Easy to find her if she gets lost!

Demetris:

You all know Demetris! You don't? You suck. Anyway, the name Demetris was based off the Greek names Demitri and Demetrius, which mean.... *looks* fertility. Shocked

*goes off to sterilize Demetris for the good of mankind*

Demetris: NEVA!

Jesten:

Jesten's name is kinda obvious. A twisted version of Justin. I just thought Justin looked too.... jockish? Yeah, Jockish for the character. Jesten looked a lot nerdier.

Originally, when I made the character, he was just a bit character named Bengen. He was an annoying, retarded bengel who only had one cameo apperence. However, afterwards, I looked over my notes, remembered Bengen, and gave him a giant revamp.

EnDSchultz - Derived from my name, Eric D. Schultz. The 'n' is just a way of separating my first and middle name because my name is not Ed Schultz. Razz

I would give my Predator a new name...but he's been called EnD since I first started using him in the Forum Wars at Gameware back in '06 I believe it was. It's integrated into who he is now, changing it doesn't seem right, and even if I did change it people would continue to call him EnD out of habit anyway. XD

Never even mind the fact I'm terrible with names.

The only thing I have in my dictionary is genkaku na, meaning strict. I always remember Genkaku meaning crazy, though.

My first name, Shee-mon, came form a tease I used to be called, She-Man and He-she. Depressing, ne?

I had good purpose for changing it to *drumroll*

Mara Taskea
Mara- from the word "mar" or mark with "er" on the end. "Marker" is a mouthfull and hence it was shortened to "Mara"
Taskea- from Tashka and "panacea" and literally meaning that which cleanses

the name Angel came from the EvilAngel stealing my characters sanity. Curse him. With "red" tacked on to the beginning because f her fiery nature. hell, I was feeling unimaginative at the time.

That's the adjective for Genkaku, mine are the nouns... Man, Japanese really is kind of vague when you don't use the kanji Razz

But anyways, yeah, I think I remember you mentioning that it was meant to mean 'crazy' or something similar to that.
