((First let me just say that I'm fully aware that the creation of God characters is at times controvesial but I have cleared this one with DP and other relevant persons first to make sure there isn't a problem.))
Name: The Olvari
Also known as: The Trinity, God(s)/Goddess(es) of evolution, The Changers, ect.
Age: They began when life began; they will end when life ends.
Gender: None. They may appear either male or female but female is perhaps slightly more common. (Although they are correctly referred to in the plural form they act and behave as one being with one mind. They have one voice which speaks for them all.)
Species: God would probably be the closest common term although they would be more accurately described as the sentient personification of an inherent force or process.
Description and Physiology: Like most Gods The Olvari do not have any true physical bodies. If at all possible they avoid taking any physical form, preferring to work indirectly through their agents instead. When they must appear in the physical world they take the form of three invisible unicorns – one black, one blue and one purple. However because they are invisible their colours only become apparent when they are seen out of the corner of your eye.
Physical Abilities: Like all Gods they can assume any physical form they like, and change between them at will, or simply give it up altogether.
Because of their purpose they are instinctively aware of all living things, regardless of whether they are invisible, mentally blocking anyone from noticing them or otherwise hidden.
Whilst the immortality of Gods in general has been called into question lately the only known way to destroy The Olvari forever is to destroy that which sustains them – all living things.
Supernatural Abilities: They have an innate understanding of the genetic, physical, supernatural and even mental make-up of any living thing they focus their attention on. They can use this understanding to create copies of all or part of any life form, although this will take time and they can use these to alter existing life forms or create entirely new ones.
Signature Moves/Attacks: None. They don’t fight. If attacked they will simply revert back to a non-physical state.
Weaponry: None.
Equipment: None.
Home: Their home planet is a world called Olva but their influence is felt almost everywhere life exists.
Origin: The Olvari were born out of the inherent instability of life. Life is not a constant, it is always changing, growing, dying, moving…and The Olvari are the personification and to some extent the guiding force of that process.
History: The Olvari have existed as long as anyone can remember, as long as it is possible for anyone to remember. As soon as life came into being The Olvari came with it and they have remained ever since. They spend most of their time in non-corporeal form watching and guiding the progression of life throughout the multi-verse.
At times they have created or adopted agents, servants to do their bidding. These beings work either independently or as teams to fulfil tasks and quests such as exploring newly discovered or created worlds or introducing new life forms to existing worlds.
Alignment: Neutral would probably be the best description. They are largely indifferent to small scale politics, concerning themselves only with the progression of life across the multi-verse. Whilst they always welcome new life they are not opposed to death and destruction because they understand that the removal of the old is often an essential precursor to the introduction of the new.
However they bear an intrinsic hatred of pointless destruction, that which cannot lead to the creation of anything new such as the destruction of entire worlds or realities.
Personality: They treat most life forms with a sort of friendly off-handedness. They are interesting and useful and deserve to be treated politely but are rarely worthy of excessive respect or attention. They are almost totally informal and have no interest in ceremony or ritual unless absolutely essential, treating almost everyone the same regardless of their position in the world, an attitude they encourage in their agents and allies as well. Perhaps the only exception to this is when they are dealing with the Elder Gods, if only because they do in fact outrank The Olvari and tend to be even more difficult to deal with if proper protocol is ignored.
Known Weaknesses: Like most of the Dojo’s Gods they are not omnipotent. They are dimly aware of all life around them but unless they choose to focus on a particular life form they know little more than the fact that it’s there. They know only what they have learned about non-living things.
Their ability to change and create life is not unlimited. Any work their do will take time and if they try to do too much at once they are in danger of becoming exhausted, requiring them to withdraw from the physical world to restore their energy, one reason they often have their agents carry out tasks for them.
They also have no imagination as such and as a result they cannot simply create new life forms out of thin air, they need an existing basis to work on, one or more life forms that they can adapt to create something new.
They have absolutely no awareness, influence or access to places where there is no life. Although they are quite confident that given time life will find it’s way there, and they will go with it.
Allies: Their agents and any others who share an interest in encouraging the spread of life and the creation of new life forms. _________________ Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve ~ Sir Walter Scott
