The Basics
Name: HollowEyes (he refuses to go by Byule, which is his real Parasitian name)
Age: Around 21.
Apparent Age: Hard to say, but he probably looks his age.
Gender: Male.
Height: About 2m tall.
Weight: Around 80kg, but this varies when he uses some charms.
Eye Color: Grey.
Hair Color: N/A
Physique: HollowEyes has two legs, four arms, three eyes and one large horn on his head. He is bipedal, and has a third eye on his chest. As for his four arms, they are situated around his neck in such a fashion that they resemble a propellor or the blades of a fan, connected to an appendage similar to a collar. From his elbows down, they're wide and flat like actual blades, though from his elbows up they narrow out, and function as arms (hence the name 'arm blades'). His horn appears at the front of his head, extending upwards from where his nose would be if he had one.His horn appears at the front of his head, extending upwards from where his nose would be if he had one.
Race: Parasitian
Language: Parasitian, English, Fiendish (a very basic demonic language, he uses it to speak to locust fiends).
Religious affiliation: Quite business-like. In exchange for limited use of a spirit's powers (through his paper charms), HollowEyes offers a predetermined number of sacrifices over an agreed upon amount of time. He currently has contracts with the Demonic Squid Spirit, the Fox Spirit, the Beetle Spirit, the Locust Spirit, the Mirror Spirit, the Locust Spirit, the Cicada Spirit, the Jellyfish Spirit, the Vine Spirit and Netdroid9 (the Binary Spirit).
Homeland: The Parasitian Homeworld, off in a far and distant corner of the Multiverse.
Home/Location in Psychotopia: The Corrupted Cave.
Heraldic Symbol/Colors: Often likened to a beetle, though HollowEyes has no such symbols/colours.
Companions/Friends: The Evil Council, Dr. Eugene Serpells & his Protectors, Ayame, Caton.
Skills
Studies: Charm Creation & Usage (Aoiame, Paper Spirit)
Apprenticeships: N/A
Natural Abilities: HollowEyes can spin his arms to enhance his speed (on both land and in water) and jumping capabilities (to the extent of hovering or floating, but not flight). He has considerable leg strength, though his frontal horn is not really for attacking things with by itself.
Thanks to a recent body-switch with a clone, HollowEyes has regained the use of his Parasitian tongue, which allows him to absorb the physical attributes and abilities of any living thing that he eats. As he despises his heritage however, HollowEyes is unlikely to use it.
HollowEyes' third eye has similar abilities to his original third eye, but is much weaker. It can only focus on one mind at a time, and only picks up on very vague emotions. However, as it's quite a bit weaker than the original, it also takes much less energy for him to use it.
Occupation(s): Second-in-Command at the Evil Council.
Financial Status: Very well off, HollowEyes has proven himself to be a reasonably smart investor and businessman despite the fact that he doesn't care too much about money.
Family
Mother: Unknown (deceased). Said to resemble his sister, Little Sister, only taller and with less eyes.
Father: Unknown (still alive, probably 40-ish). Currently resides on the Parasitian Homeworld. Enormous compared to his children, HollowEyes' father bears a vague resemblance to his son.
Brothers: N/A
Sisters: Liyao, a.k.a. Little Sister (21)
Half/Step/Adopted Siblings: N/A
Spouse: N/A (though Ayame the Paper Spirit may say otherwise)
Children: N/A
Possessions
Clothing: N/A
Jewelry: N/A
Weapons: Arm Blades (physically attached to HollowEyes), GORON console.
Armor: N/A
Magical Items/Artifacts (and their powers): Charms (various), Chain of Despair (causes target to feel overwhelming amounts of despair when bitten), Ruby Dagger (grants the user control over the element of fire), Battle Axe of the Frozen North (releases a freezing fog), Rune Blade No. 2 a.k.a. Earthbane (cuts through any mineral), Staff of Hypnosis (puts target to sleep), Tri-Blade of Flames (shoots torrents of flame like a flamethrower).
Currency: , .
Tools/Utensils: N/A
Books/Scrolls: N/A (though he possesses such things, they very rarely leave his office)
Food: N/A
Medicinal Items/Herbs: N/A
Are any of your possessions sentient? Y
What is it's level of intelligence? The same as Caton.
Can it communicate? Yes.
How does it communicate? Via mindspeak.
How did you acquire it? HollowEyes has had the Chains of Despair for quite some time, though the original (made from imprisoned Parasitian quadruplets) is now lost to him. He created the second based on the original with a charm that alters Caton's physical form.
Character Depth
"Boss?"
"Yes Caton?"
"Why you fight?"
An unusual question from his minion, one that made HollowEyes think quite deeply. Truth be told, he'd lost track a little of why he fought when he did, what kind of motivation was it that he'd had again? "I suppose I simply do what I feel is right for the Council."
Caton, the small white undead feline, seemed unsatisfied with this answer. "Why the Council, boss? They not seem worth it to me." "Just as well you have to listen to what I say then." HollowEyes laughed as he closed his eyes, thinking about how to properly answer his minion for a few more moments. He'd never really explained it properly to Caton, or anybody for that matter. There were probably more than just a few who thought him to be ill-suited to it's 'evil' nature, and he did have a couple of traits that would almost certainly be considered as 'good'.
"I guess, to begin with, it was a sense of debt, and perhaps even a bit of admiration. I was invited to join by some very amazing people, far more powerful than myself, and for a long time I was content to do as they said. I was pleased to see that with my own abilities, I was able to help them in many ways, and in turn they helped me in just as many ways."
"When I brought my Sister back I was still fairly low-ranking, but I'd truly hoped that she'd feel the same way. For years she'd confined herself to a cage, refusing the world that refused her, and for some naive reasons I thought that she may come to see them in the same light as I did. Unfortunately I couldn't have been more wrong - she was threatened, hateful of the fact that she was constantly reminded of how weak she was when comparing herself to them, clinging to the notion of Parasitians being superior to all else."
"I can't help but feel that bringing her here was a huge mistake..." HollowEyes sighed. He wished that things had worked out differently, but there was little sense in lamenting the unchangeable past. "And so I guess I feel a bit of responsibility. I'm not sure when it was, but I began to rise up through the ranks, until those whom I'd previously viewed as being so distantly strong began to see me as their equal. I became an Elite, and most recently, the Second-in-Command..."
HollowEyes frowned a little at this, still unsure of the muppet's judgement. Addman had explained himself most clearly, but HollowEyes still found himself wondering if he was truly a wise choice to be the SiC. "Since I've been chosen by the rest of the Council, I guess I feel a sense of duty to serve them. I imagine that this is something you might understand?"
"Yes Boss." Caton felt the same way about HollowEyes. The Parasitian had wrenched his pitiful soul up from the bowels of hell, grafted it to a powerful magical force and stuck him back in his old body. He was not simply alive thanks to HollowEyes, he was immortal. How? How could a mere mortal achieve such a thing? It was the kind of power that Caton had initially feared, and yet had eventually come to admire - perhaps this too was how his Master had felt?
The shrill sounds of an alarm disrupted the thoughts of the pair, and HollowEyes looked to the security monitors on his desk.
"Time to go Caton, we've got company."
"Yes Boss."
Pets
Name: Caton
Species: Nekomata
Coloration: White with green eyes.
Clothing: Usually a tiny blue suit.
Armor: N/A
Skills: Nekomata are usually associated with ghostly fire, although Caton's control over fire is greatly enhanced by the Ruby Dagger. He usually leaves it where it is, firmly skewered into his back (this doesn't appear to cause him any discomfort or pain), rather than having to pull it out to use it like HollowEyes did, so it's more of an amplifying device than a necessity - Caton is still able to weild ghostly fire without the Ruby Dagger, though it's siginificantly weaker.
His ghostly flames are a pale blue in colour, and barely visible to the naked eye (similar to a gas flame in that aspect I suppose), though there's not much difference between them and regular flames (other than the colour). Unlike HollowEyes, who relied on Charms of the Liquid Flames to create lava to control, Caton can create his fire from nothing in almost no time at all, although he is limited in the amount he can make - even with the Ruby Dagger he's not going to make something like a pale blue sun in a matter of seconds (or ever, for that matter), but something like a forest fire is pretty doable.
Just like other nekomata, Caton also possesses the ability to control corpses like puppets, though he hasn't really had much of a chance to experiment with this just yet (although given that he lives in the Corrupted Cave with HollowEyes, it's not like he'd have trouble finding corpses to practice with). It's a pretty limited ability though, he can really only move the corpses about, he can't make them speak or anything like that, and he can't move something that's only half-dead.
He's able to take on two other forms as well - that of a much larger cat (up to about a metre and a half in length not including his tails) or that of a human. Given his preference for fighting using only his fire-based abilities however, he rarely uses his limited shape-shifting skills in combat.
Perhaps most importantly is the extra form 'given' to him by HollowEyes - utilizing the same charm magic that allowed him to create the original Chains of Despair, HollowEyes is able to apply a special charm to Caton to turn him into a single metallic jaw and chain. HollowEyes still calls this a Chain of Despair (despite the fact that Caton dislikes this name), though it has a few significant differences.
Sentient: Y
What is this pet's level of intelligence? Reasonably high, though he struggles with languages and can only speak broken english.
Can it communicate with characters other than your own? Yes.
How does it communicate? Simply talking or mindspeak, though usually just talking.
How did you meet? HollowEyes found a dead cat that was about to turn 100 years old, forced a previously hell-bound soul into it and Caton was born. Created from a need for somebody who was both capable and trustworthy enough to weild the Ruby Dagger on his behalf, Caton continues to be a loyal servant to HollowEyes. |
