Hello everyone!
I am Arthur McCorth. As I am sure you can tell I am a new arrival here, although not entirely new to the art of Role-Play. I am so happy to find a forum entirely devoted to it, and with so much depth!
I hope I will be able to learn your method quickly, although there is a lot to learn, so that I will be able to join in soon. I already have an idea for a character, one I have used before in other places, so I should be able to post my character sheet soon. |

If you are new to the world of Role Playing, you may wish to start at the Training Dojo, where any of our staff will be more than happy to help you learn the game.
The most important part of role playing is the development of a character. This is required before you participate in most role plays. You can look at examples of characters in our Hall of Records. Once you have a character, you can post your profile in there.
Once you have a character and some training, you may wish to join a role play. The most active of Role Playing boards is The Wilds. There are many other role playing boards for RPs of a specific location or type. Explore as much as you can.
A new feature to the Dojo is the addition of items. Most items have a way to be synthed, or combined, with other items to form usable items. Usable items will be listed in a pull down menu when you create a post, enabling you to specify which item you are using, who is using it, and what their target is. Usable items have a hit % and a break %. If you're lucky, your item use will suceed, if not, it will miss. Either way, there is a chance that your item will break and become unusable. See our wiki article on Items for more information.
Several of the boards are non-RPing boards. Boards like Announcements, General Chat, and Bugs and Features are examples of non-RPing boards. Be sure to explore these too.
We only have a few rules:
1. Respect other people, and treat them as you wish to be treated.
2. Do not argue with the Admins and Mods. They have plenty of work already. If you really have a beef with something, discussing it in a logical and calm manner will get you miles farther than whining.
3. No Powerplaying. This means forcing actions on other people. For more information on Powerplaying and how to avoid it, please refer to "Powerplaying" on our wiki.
If you have any questions during your stay here, you may ask one of the administrators or moderators. You can recognize us by our belts: Gold Dragons on the belt of an Admin, Silver on the belt of a mod.
Should you be unable to contact an Admin or you want your answer quickly, you can always refer to the Blackstar Wiki.
Please also be advised that Blackstar is considered highly addictive and may result in symptoms of insomnia, crankiness, longing for bork bork bork, and general RP itch if you discontinue use. |

What? You do realise that that isn't technically a job, and I've been doing that for the past week or so, right?

Don't forget to remove your sanity and put it in the skull shaped baskets over by the door! OTherwise the purple and surprisingly stick stuff shall leak out your ears, staining all clothes, floors/carpets, walls and ceilings it comes into contact with.

Well, I can't really comment on my hands (that's not the sort of thing that I'd know about ), but considering that I usually avoid the 'Greetings' section of the forum I'd hardly consider dishing out the canned message my job... As I recall, usually it's Swix who does it, or if he feels like it when he spots the thread, sometimes Goron hands them out too. Back when she was around, Embri used to do it too. Don't go giving me credit for their hard work

Obviously the Power Apathy Party, which is somewhat lame because now I can't access the Word Censor anymore. For a group that's not supposed to care anything they seemed to go to an awful lot of trouble, there was a ridiculous amount of censors to delete there

Yeah, seriously. Why would we bother with that? I think it's someone trying to frame us. Or maybe it's the start of a plot...

Yeah. It said The Party, not The Power Apathy Party.
Whoever changed 'Articus' to 'Jack Bauer' was insanely awesome, though.

Maybe I just got confused and was thinking of someone else. No offense to either of you, but I always seem to get you and Goron mixed up, that could have been what happened.

Well it wasn't Mist, I swear. She upholds the PAP's values quite well - she doesn't care about much of anything lol.
