The Basics
Name: TreeSprite
Gender: Female
Height: 1' 8" -3' 9"
Weight: 18 lbs - 63 lbs
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Brown
Physique: Slender, very fit. I'm quite the athletic.
Identifying Marks I have runes on my forearms that speak of the magic that I can call upon. I also have tattoos on my calves from knee to ankle that were placed upon my marriage to Corwyn. He shares them also, and 'Tis a tradition amongst the elves of the Darkwood.
Race: Faerie
Language: Common, Faerie, Ancient, TreeSpeak, TreeSong, Common Dragon, Elven, Broken Dwarvish.(To be honest I'm not sure my Dwarvish is all that good. I've only encountered a dwarf once, and when I spoke to him in Dwarvish to say hello, he ran at me swinging his axe furiously. When I asked Olvarr why he ran at me like that, he kindly informed me that the dwarf thought I had insulted his mother.)
Religious affiliation:
Religion? Oh, no, none for me thanks. =) I tried that once. I tend to just muddle up that whole worshipping thing anyway. I mean.. I really don't think I should have to allow anyone to decide my actions for me with their silly little rules anyway. *waves hand dismissively*
Homeland:
Well, I'm not sure about that exactly. You see most of my memories are of The Grove, but sometimes I dream of other places that aren't The Grove, and when I'm dreaming they almost feel like they are home...
Home/Location in The Grove:
The Glade in the tree near Brayen's sunny rock.
Home/Location in Psychotopia:
None as yet.
Heraldic Symbol/Colors: Why, you didn't know? My familial colors and symbols are all displayed in my wing patterns.
Companions/Friends:
The Companions of the Light; Corwyn, Brayen, Runesage, and Anga. Buster the Ettin, Eärendur Fëanáro Telemnar of the Séregon, Tigger, Danikat, a large number of Norns -among them are Floral, Chistamaria, Alyssa, and Akasha-, The Oela - among them are Olvarr, and Sylla.
Skills
Studies: Well, currently the Wellness Willow is trying to teach me the ways of medicinal plants, but I keep telling her that I don't need to learn it because I can do many Healing Magics. She keeps insisting that I learn though, and I wouldn't want to break her heart by saying no.
Amongst my other skills I can wield a bow with deadly accuracy. I find little use for it in times of peace, but when my friends, or my homeland are in danger I can be seen firing my arrows. I am also a good fletcher of my own Sungwood arrows. Feldara Elendil was quite friendly and offered to teach me how to properly fletch an arrow for a truer flight. In return I gave her an everseed that was a special gift to me by Balsaran. With it she has made quite a name for herself as the best fletcher in The Grove.
With the aid of the Dragon Fae, I can magically call any person or beast to my location. The Dragon Fae are necessary to find the person or beast I am moving because they can telepathically give me a perfect picture of the target so that I may accurately remove them from where they are, and bring them to where I am. I can also send persons away from me, but I find that much harder to perform and so don't do it very often.
Apprenticeships: I was apprenticed to Olvarr of the Oela for three years. During that time I was given a rare and precious gift and was allowed to learn the art of TreeSong. In fact I still have my graduation project!
*TreeSprite concentrates for a moment and suddenly begins to grow to her full height. She then reaches into her magical hidey hole and brings out a sturdy but slender bow that is approximately 4' in height. It is carved with runic symbols that match those on TreeSprite's arms.*
Isn't it the most beautiful bow you've ever seen? This is how I met the Ancient Yew you know. She was wonderful to put up with me while I sang this from her wood.
Natural Abilities:
The healing magics I can perform naturally are as follows:
I can heal minor wounds.
I can clear the minds of others for better concentration, and to rid them of aches of the brain.
I can create auras of healing and regeneration which allow those in close proximity to feel refreshed and stay so for a short time after they leave my presence.
When given enough time to concentrate I can revive the recently fallen and save them from the very brink of death.
Flight Abilities: I can hover, fly, and perform arial acrobatics that allow me to fight well hand to hand in mid-air.
Stealthiness: Most don't know, or realize it, but I can blend in so well with the environment around me that I can hide seemingly anywhere I am. I am rarely noticed if I do not wish to be, and when I am, I'm still very hard to see so this provides me with a nice defense.
Occupation(s): Protector of The Grove and its inhabitants.
Financial Status:
Oh, I like gold and silver and all sorts of shiny metals and gems, but I really don't have much use for all that.
Family
Spouse: Corwyn Tor Darkwood or Corwyn of the Darkwood Tor, but whatever. He's mine whatever way you say it..
Children:
Floral - Adolescent
Magic - Adolescent
Hardy - Child
Possesions
Clothing: Cargo Shorts, T-Shirt, Vest. I also have some nice dresses, and leather clothing.
Jewelry: Oh, I have oodles of that sort of thing, if anyone's lost a trinket I've probably found it. My most favorite adornment is my Pooh pocket watch. Corwyn gave it to me as an anniversary present upon his return from a strange land. He says it tells time, but I've never heard it speak of such. It's oddly decorated with the image of a bear that Corwyn says is named Pooh, and it plays the most lovely tune as if it were a music box. I'm told by Corwn that the song is the anthem of this Pooh the bear.
Identifying Marks: Wedding Tattoos on legs, Runes on forearms
Weapons: Bow and Arrows , Glitter Cannons.
Armor: Why ever would I wear that clunky stuff when I couldn't fly if I did? Hmm? Oft in battle one will see me all garbed in green and brown leathers for a bit of extra protection.
Magical Items/Artifacts (and their powers): Magical Items? Well you all know about my affinity with pockets, right? My favorite pocket is this one right here. This pouch is what I open to get to my hidey hole. I can put anything I want in here and it goes to my special pockets around The Grove. =) Of course you know my most favorite thing to pull out of my hidey hole is my Glitter Cannons.
Currency:
Tools/Utensils: Wooden Chopsticks, wooden cup, Very sharp stone knife, quiver with arrows. Small belt bag full of feathers. and leaves used to fletch arrows. A shoulder bag with compartments for holding medicinal herbs and potions.
Books/Scrolls: Several old Tomes found in odd corners of The Grove, including the Tome of Phobos.
Food: I can find food anywhere in The Grove, and if I am lacking food at hand I generally access my stores of food via the hidey hole.
Medicinal Items/Herbs: I carry nearly every herb that the Wellness Willow has taught me about. I also have a small book in which I have kept notes given during lessons. I carry small strips of leather and cloths as well as making use of nearby leaves and vines for the making of bandages.
Are any of your possesions sentient? No
Character Depth
I am a kind person who cares deeply about the peaceful inhabitants of The Grove. The Grove is my responsibility and I will defend it and it's inhabitants to the best of my ability. If there is ever a situation where I percieve that The Grove, it's inhabitants, or the Companions of the Light are in danger I will immediately spring into action to defend them. I relate quite well with most creatures, unless they suffer from madness, or are so evil as to be dangerous. I would use any means imaginable and that I can manage to maintain my peaceful home.
Pets
Name: Buster
Species: Ettin
Coloration: Black with cream colored hair.
Clothing: I've tried to get him to wear clothing, but he won't do it.
Armor: He likes Corwyn's old helmet. Corwyn said he was glad to give it to the little guy since he himself was happy to be shed of it.
Skills: He can find anything even remotely useful and tear it up. As well he is quite capable of inventing any number of things, nearly all of which are either incomprehensible, broken, or involve making the most wonderful tea.
Sentient: Yes
(If yes answer the following:)
What is this pet's level of intelligence? Mad Genius.
Can it communicate with characters other than your own? Buster can communicate, but often he's so lost in thought that it's very hard to get his attention. Nearly the only time one can get anything out of him is if they ask for a cup of tea.
How does it communicate? Buster can speak common
How did you meet? I met Buster in the forest one day when I came upon the strange building growing out of the side of Myth Mountain.
Name: Dragon Fae
Species: Dragon Fae - small butterfly, or dragon fly winged dragons.
Coloration: They are small faerie dragons of random coloration. They are usually no larger than six to eight inches in length from head to tail.
Clothing: They are a motley crew when it comes to clothing. Some wear small articles of clothing such as hats, feathers tied in their manes, or even small specially made coats. On occasion they've been known to steal clothing from the local brownie population.
Armor: They don't have need of armor as their natural scale coverings provided them with protection. The dragon fae can also defend themselves with their tail barbs, and elemental magic bolts. Each Dragon Fae discovers it's special magic when it reaches maturity. Generally they can only handle one or two elemental magics.
Skills: The Dragon fae are the keepers of the Greetings Garden. They also are quite adept at the "Tikel Torture" Magics which are very effective at harrassing those who purposefully harm The Grove, or its inhabitants. They automatically know when any creature or plant of the forest cries out in pain or for help. They know powerful healing magics, and have on rare occasions banded together in a circle to heal creatures from the brink of death.
Sentient: Y
What is this pet's level of intelligence? Highly Intelligent
Can it communicate with characters other than your own? Yes they can, and have done so on a few rare occasions. Though they can speak both Faerie and Common Dragon, and are capable of understanding the common speech of humans, most often they don't speak to any sentient beings other than myself. Usually when they do, it is through pointing, facial expressions (generally facial expressions on the Dragon Fae are too subtle for humans to catch.), and sign language.
How does it communicate? Because they can speak in the way of many greater dragons, I can hear their thoughts. As I understand it, it's quite the same as the way that Danikat communicates with her dragon friends. I would assume therefore that the Dragon Fae can speak with other dragons, but as I have never asked -Dragons consider it ill mannered to intrude on their personal business- I wouldn't know that for sure.
How did you meet? I have known the Dragon Fae all of my life.
Oh, and then there is Brayen. He's my friend and a Companion of the Light, but since his unfortunate curse and change of form, and since the Mad Puck Goat is now quite old, Brayen has proudly served as my war mount when I must need ride into battle. =) |
