By process of ellimination I finally worked out that its my computer that was causing problems with the Nintendo Wi-Fi adapter by refusing to accept that it was plugged in.

Fortunately I live in a house with far too many computers so I managed to find another one to install it on.
Which means I have to be down in the living room anytime I want to go online but in the long run that will probably work out better since thats where the Wii that I will get for Christmas will be anyway.

But the point is I can now resume my plans to trade Pokemon with people. Very Happy
