Pathway to Nexus

((Nexus is a bit of a project of mine, if you will. I'm opening a portal here. I was meant to do it earlier, but never got around to tying up the loose end on the other side until now.
Anyway, for this, I need people to react, but I need it to not spiral out of control like the last one did, so I'm posting it here. Feel free to join in, but please try not to sweep them and carry them all across the dojo.
Also, I haven't been keeping an eye on the big RPs... so I don't know a lot of what has happened recently. I won't have any characters in this except these three, though, to make up for it, but if anything major has physically changed I apologise in advance for not mentioning it.

"Fair enough. I'll stay here to brief anyone that comes in. Someone should be here soon to help build another room or two for me and anyone else that comes," Belle said.
Evanie gave her a nod and turned to the other two, Alex and Ryssa.
Alex was the shortest of the three friends, standing at barely over 5'6". He had short blue-black hair and brown eyes, his skin as pale as any Felician's. Ryssa was a good inch taller than Evanie, at 5'10". Her hair was pink, a colour that was far less common than Evanie's own bright blue, but still not too hard to find.
"Come on," she said to them, then pushed off towards the Pathway she had indicated earlier.
Moving through ether was an odd sensation, and hard to get you mind around. In fact, it was best to pay as little attention to the actual movement as possible, as only your mind made you move here. Ether was not solid enough to grant any resistance.
In the end, the movement looked like an odd, floating walk, as that was what most people were comfortable with. Evanie, however, having grown up in and out of the ether, had more of a glide.
Though the distance between the platform and the start of the Pathway looked very, very large - and indeed, it was in the sense that Nexus could expand for miles and still not reach it - the three crossed it very quickly. The thing with this plane was not that it made distances smaller, but that it made them almost meaningless.

When they reached the end of the Pathway, Evanie made an opening. Through it, she could see part of what appeared to be an open plain, covered in lush grass. Probably means this place will be hot as well, she thought, remembering the grass she had seen at Celestia. Felicia doesn't grow grass this thick anywhere.

Bracing herself once more for the heat, she stepped through. However, she still fell to the groud in a combination of sudden weight and the sudden increase in temperature. Why must every world we find be so hot?
