The arena was jam-packed with Dojoians, especially those from Psychotopia City. Rumor had quickly spread about Ensichrys fighting the Morbuzak and many many people wanted to see Ensichrys to get a taste of his own medicine.

Now being led in by a trusted EC grunt, who just so happened to be a great golfer, Ensichrys and The Guivre strode and slithered in regally. Ensichrys saw the Morbuzak being led in as well. It was ironic, he thought, that he would be fighting a giant carnivorous plant when he also was the master of another one.

The arena worked it's magic and they were surrounded by the Black Forest, apparently at twilight. The Guivre immediately slithered into the pond that it knew all to well.

Ensichrys stood on the bank with relatively little cover. The trees were thick and his monstrous enemy was lost to view. Ensichrys charged his talons briefly. He was having second thoughts about this brawl, but it was too late at this point.

After coming in, the Morbuzak promptly ate the EC grunt that had led it in, to help it heal slightly before engaging in combat.

To help it battle its foe, the Morbuzak created 5 seeds, which it then pushed into the ground to form 5 half-size clones that for now, slunk back into the shadows to wait.

The Morbuzak then unleashed a shower of thorns over the entire clearing, as its own way of saying "Bring it on."

Ensichrys closed his eyes and inhaled sharply as the barrage of thorns stopped just short of where he stood. He was on edge. He had never fought publicly before.

The Guivre was also a loner. He never showed his face in public. As multiple thorns sprinkled the top of the water, The Guivre noticed something.

The thorns floated.

This could be useful knowledge, though there was no need for it now. The Guivre was to remain in the lake until given further orders.

Ensichrys was torn. He did not know what he wanted to do. If he waited this creature out, it would simply send droves of child plants after him until he dropped from exhaustion. There had to be something this monster would not expect. Ensichrys got his answer, oddly, from his own fear. Ensichrys thought to himself that any sudden movement or noise would scare the hell out of him.

Ensichrys had a scary noise of his own. He had not revealed it to this date in Blackstar. Now could have been the time. Ensichrys reared up and emitted a horrible rasping screech. It was extremely loud and it seemed to pierce to the very bones. Underwater, the Guivre cringed. He had never heard this sound before. It was, quite possibly, the worst sound he had ever heard.

Ensichrys was ready now. He bounced lightly on his digitoid feet and awaited the Morbuzak's next move. Whatever it was, now he'd be ready.

The Morbuzak waited patiently, knowing it would be most likely to win if its opponent made the first move.

So far, nothing was happening. Getting bored, it figured it might as well sleep-but it wasn't about to let a dinoavian best it by surprising it while it was napping.

Ensichrys was now tense. Silence. A wounded silence, as if the sound he'd just made had violated the area somehow. It felt insulted. Ensichrys was having difficulty keeping his nerve. He wasn't terrified anymore, but he was indeed slightly afraid of the Morbuzak.

Ensichrys remembered hearing somewhere that it was easy to be brave. Try to frighten the frightener, he was told. Perhaps that was the best approach to this situation. He had to be even more terrifying than the Morbuzak. Letting forth another horrific shree, Ensichrys charged into the woods. The Guivre saw this, and decided to slither quietly behind him at a much slower rate. If anything should happen to Ensichrys, The Guivre wouldn't be far behind. Indeed there were few things scarier than a giant snake.

The Morbuzak noticed Ensichrys, followed by the Guivre, running into the shadows after it.

Right now, it was glad it was mostly emotionless-it suspected Ensichrys was emitting the most horrible screech-which it couldn't hear because the noise was above its range of hearing.

For now, it ordered its spawn plants to move in for the kill-it's time to start the fight.

The battle plan-while the spawn plants wore Ensichrys down with possibloy suicidal attacks, the original plant would help out with various spells. For now, the original plant just stood still-trying its best to look like a massive, harmless, thorny flower.

Still running like a mad beast, Ensichrys began to fall into a rather feral state of mind, but was able to pull out of this. He had to keep his wits about him. Suddenly, as if appearing from the blackness itself, a smaller version of the Morbuzak showed itself directly in front of him.

Ensichrys panicked. He dove straight into the beastly plant. His beak and talons wounded this smaller plant horrendously, placing Ensichrys on the other side of it. Looking back, it became evident that Ensichrys had torn through this child plant's body. It was unclear whether or not he had killed the scion.

The Guivre tried a more stealthy approach to the situation. He glided up to a spiky looking tall shrub and coiled himself around it. He waited for a few seconds and then felt something odd. The shrub he was coiled around was... moving!

The monstrous serpent instinctively squeezed. He soon found this to be a mistake, as the thorns tore a few of his scales. This was very painful. The Guivre flung himself off the shrub and faced it. Was this the Morbuzak?

Video... tantillus. He thought to himself. He had thought for certain the plant was larger than this. Some type of offspring? It mattered not. The Guivre swiftly retreated into the thick trees, slowly sliding his way back toward the lake. His scales were hurting in the areas they were torn. The water would soothe the pain.

The Morbuzak, although not able to talk, cursed the Guivre in its mind for giving away its position.

Immediatly it curled into attack position. Noticing Ensichrys nearby, it cast cast Pepperthorn, sending a fast-moving ring of thorns towards its target.

Ensichrys had apparently killed the scion plant. Suddenly hearing a tiny whistling noise, Ensichrys looked to his left. Oh, no. He had enough time to close his eyes and lower his head. The thorns smacked painfully into him. Luckily, his head crest blocked the thorns that would have punctured his head. Ensichrys recoiled in pain. Still looking down, he noticed that he had lost a few feathers.

Are those... my own feathers? My own beautiful feathers?!

This creature was going to pay. Ensichrys ultimately decided he needed better lighting. Charging his talons with electricity, he shed some light on the situation. He soon wished he hadn't. There it was, in all its thorny horror. The massive Morbuzak. Remember, frighten the frightener he told himself. Ensichrys nodded resolutely and ran straight at the Morbuzak. Brutality may have been the only way to win the battle. He jumped onto the Morbuzak's chest area in two powerful leaps.

Screeching like a demon, he plunged his talons into the Morbuzak's body and drilled him with a powerful stream of electricity. Plants had a lot of water in them. Ensichrys hoped this would conduct his electricity well enough to hurt the Morbuzak badly.

The Morbuzak responded by flicking its stem and throwing Ensichrys off-afterwards looking like it had swallowed an energy drink because of the electricity.

It recovered after a few minutes, and counterattacked with Dazzle Darts, sending a bolt of dark lightning at the dinoavian.

Ensichrys flinched. What had just happened? There was a massive static discharge between him and the Morbuzak. The bolt of dark lightning had caused a huge reaction in Ensichrys' body. The two bolts of lightning met in the center, repelling each other and flying off course.

Ensichrys shook himself. His feathers were sticking up from the static disruption. Preening himself, Ensichrys was rather surprised at himself. He literally just demonstrated lighting reflexes. Or was it simply an involuntary electric reaction? Whatever it was, it hadn't worked very well.

He was also in a bit of pain from when the Morbuzak flung him off itself. It had been so easy for the colossal plant. Ensichrys decided he needed a different approach. Pulling out his vial of flometal extract, he hastily applied it to his talons, tail horn, wingtips, and beak. This time not making any odd sounds, Ensichrys charged the Morbuzak again, this time tucking into a roll at the last second, slicing the base of the plant.

The Morbuzak managed to shift out of the way before taking any major damage.

Then it called up the remaining 4 spawn plants and ordered them to move in, and spat out 2 more seeds and put them in the ground, causing 2 more to grow from the ground in seconds before it burrowed beneath the ground.

It resurfaced about 20 ft. away from Ensichrys, watching and waiting.

Ensichrys needed to keep the Morbuzak from getting away, but he was now surrounded by the scions. If he called to the Guivre, the Morbuzak would hear him too, and know what was coming. Or would he? Ensichrys slapped himself lightly in the face for not thinking of this sooner. He raised his voice and shouted. "GUIVRE! HAUD AMITTO MORBUZAK!"

In the pond, the Guivre heard him. Now feeling a little better, the Guivre glided back into the woods and searched for the Morbuzak. Following the sounds of Ensichrys' voice, the Guivre eventually found the battle scene. He was behind the Morbuzak, which was apparently unaware of his presence. Coiling around a nearby tree, he laid in wait, ready to ambush should the Morbuzak try to retreat. The Guivre was taking no prisoners this time. He was feeling particularly cruel today.

The scions closed in on Ensichrys. The flometal extract was still holding up very well. Ensichrys waited until they got close enough. Unfortunately, his plan to cut them all in half with a circular sweep was foiled as one of the plants got brave. Luckily, Ensichrys was fast enough to kill it with his finisher, the Pegasus Tribute. He thrust his tail horn into its body and then followed it with a sideswipe from the other side with his tail, severing the child plants "head."

The others were now too close to use his circular sweep to kill them all, sh Ensichrys dove into one of them, cutting and slashing with his beak and talons, soon making a salad out of the creature. Now that he was outside the circle, the others were all coming from one direction. Taking two down with powerful electric blasts, he rolled over backwards twice to further distance himself from them. There were three left, each one undaunted by the death of their siblings.

The Morbuzak was all the too aware there was a massive snake behind it.

While its spawn handled Ensichrys, itagain burrowed into the ground, and resurfaced at reasonable striking distance away from the Guivre. Then it launched an attack with a bolt of dark lightning.

The Guivre, seeing its enemy submerge, looked around for it to resurface. When the Morbuzak resurfaced, The Guivre launched himself at the Morbuzak, only to be blasted with a dark lightning bolt. The Guivre righted itself and rose up hellishly as a cobra would. Now a mere ten feet shorter than the Morbuzak, it reared back ready to strike. "Ensichrys' perculsus fui melior," he taunted. The Guivre lunged forward and stabbed the Morbuzak with one of its horns.

Ensichrys stood still now. Another brave child plant lunged, but Ensichrys actually caught this one between his hands. Squeezing hard, he sliced through its body and delivered a deadly jolt of electricity. The plant fell, but it fell forward. It would have smashed right into Ensichrys if he hadn't jumped out of the way. While jumping, he unknowingly sliced a vine off another scion with his foot talons. Ensichrys scrambled to his feet and faced the two remaining daughter plants.

As they advanced on him, he remembered that he actually had two hands. Rushing forward without warning, Ensichrys plunged his talons into the two plants and gave them the shock of their lives. Finally, Ensichrys thought with relief. Now turning his attention to the scene that looked as if it had come straight out of hell. The Guivre was still dwarfed by the Morbuzak, but it did have a horn embedded in its body. Ensichrys ran over to help.
