I've had this idea for a while now, there are so many different ways of doing things that it gets all muddly and confusing. For example Vampirism comes in about six different form that i know off.

What i am proposing is a place where people can write up their methods, how their abilities work and possibly teach others. This would be part of a large complex where new RPers could come for help with developing there own unique techniques and histories.

At current there are three of us willing to help run and to teach our techniques, My self , Seph and TiChei. What i'm interested in is how much intrest there is in such an orginization and if its worth me doing.

It sounds like an interesting idea, and would probably be very useful for people who find it difficult to think of decent abilities for their characters.

I think I'd be interested in teaching stuff, although I'm not entirely sure as to what I'd teach. Certainly it's true that some techniques are more interesting if they are rare and secret (for example, I certainly won't be 'teaching' people make charms like the ones HE uses), but there are some other more general things that could make things more interesting if they were more widely understood (for example, like you mentioned about the vampirism).

Would this be done in character (so people's RP characters would gain and retain knowledge on techniques, monsters and such), or is it only for out of character explainations?

It would be a bit of both, for example history development would have to be done out of character but some things would be in character, like character development and learning new techniques.

there are a couple of things that I would like to make available to the RP community as ideas, like spirit and demon Contracts, which i would do by writing up how it works and posting it as a lecture. This would be open for anyone to read or ask questions on. people could also put up there own theories on things like how the Warp works.

I'd endorse this if and only if the Underground Bunker, Training Hall, and Genetics Repository gets incorporated into the BSDU.

That and all the senseis get involved.

And, if you do take a look at the Training Hall, there's a list of members who are willing to help train.. But it does need updating as some of the members may have keft of become otherwise engaged/busy..

However, I am definately interested in remaining a helping hand in teachin/training. You might want to check out the underground bunker on the thread that discusses powers, as it kinds of ties in with warp stuff too..

We kind of need to bring all the agreed research together in one lecture pack or something, and alphabetasize it, so that if someone is looking for one particular power or something, they'll be able to find it quite easily.

And, yes, I know people like to make things individual, so that's where teachers and trainers then come in and give a helping hand. But yeah, look aroundf Angel, see what you can find before you make too many plans, 'cos there's always a little something somewhere... Wink

Sounds pretty neat. I know shapeshifting and werebeasts come with various explanations, so I;d love to educate people on that. :3

I looked over the area's you've suggested be incorporated into the BU, when i first got the idea and it seems to me that they have become largely inactive recently, baring the Genetics lab. Part of this is trying to bring these aspect back to life.

I would LOVE to help out with this project. Its one thing I can actually do. I've always wanted some simple way to teach (and be taught) in these settings. Very Happy

I give my full endorsement, for what its worth. Finally I have something that might give me a little more incentive to be active in the community.

A university! Wonderful idea.
