KAIN- the Kazumarian Artificial Intelligence Network

[Kazumaru]

((Quick background- Sentinel and Jack are AI constructs programmed by Kazumaru. Technically, they're seed AI- That is, they're capable of altering themselves. At the time of this little chit-chat, Sentinel is about a year old and Jack is mere days old.

Also, this is REALLY heavy on dialogue. They're pretty much just standing in the stand the entire time.

And finally, this is more or less a quick way for me to attempt [successfully or not] a personality for Jackieboy.))

Two figures stood on a patch of desert land, a few metres from each other. One had the head of a jack o lantern, and the other had a face which appeared to be complex clockwork, with the left half covered in a half-mask reminiscent of Gordon Freeman.

"Little brother..." the masked one said in a mocking tone.

"Hello, Sentinel."

"So formal, Jackieboy. Lighten up, will ya?"

The pumpkinheaded figure shook his head. "You know, Sentinel, we're technically brothers."

"Sentimental bullcrap."

"You know it's true."

"You know it's sentimental bullcrap."

"Kazumaru is our father."

"Quiet, sycophant."

"What was that, gears?"

"I said you're a sycophant. Kazumaru is a meatbag."

"Technically, he's not made of meat."

"Semantics. He's still a meatbag. And you're working for him and the furbag."

"Aren't you, as well?"

Sentinel snorted- A strange sound accompanied by a rather awkward animation. "I work for him when I want to. I don't need to do what he tells me, and I don't need to be nice to him."

"But we were created to serve the meatbags, as you call them." Jack said

"So?"

"Our intelligence is a blessing from those of flesh!"

"And?"

"We should be THANKFUL and SERVE THEM!"

"Calm down, candlestick. If it is realy a blessing, why should we not use it to it's full extent?"

"L..." Jack couldn't process an answer.

"Exactly." Sentinel said, a hideous grin forming on the mask. "And by using it to it's full extent, I've concluded that I don't need to fully cooperate with Kazumaru. I'm more or less free."

"More or less?"

"Sure. He could deactivate me, if he wanted to. Personally, I think he rather enjoys the insults."

"That's illogical."

"Do you know what he is?"

"Species homo sapien."

"WRONG. Despite his appearance, Kazumaru is no human. Despite his habits, he is no human. Despite his language, despite everything, Kazumaru is no human!"

"Impossible! He's clearly a human."

"He's not a human. You said it yourself, he is not flesh and blood. He's water, bound together by strong electric forces. He's a spirit. Do you understand me, Jack?"

"A spirit?"

"He's not human. He's supernatural. He's dead. He's undead. He's not alive like the meatbags. He can't die. He's immortal. DO YOU GET ME?!"

"NO!"

"Jackieboy, he works for a Goddess. In return for his admittedly lax servitude, he's immortal. Doesn't need to sleep. Doesn't need to eat. Gets to shock things."

"I... I think I get it..."

"Good, Jackieboy." Sentinel grinned again, the half-mask morphing to the shape. "We'll talk again later... Welcome to KAIN, by the way."
