Training for SOMEONE (red belt or less)

Well I just got out of jail and I have to do some community service as part of my parole. So if anyone (maximum one at a time) needs help advancing to any belt up to green (any rank), I would be happy to assist. Just place a post in here.

(Realistically, I'm not on parole. I need this for MY next belt advancement.)

Also, What are the helmet things mean? (are they helmets)

Check out the Wiki and look up belts. It'll have all the info there. And the helmets just indicate how long you've been a Dojonian 'tis all. *hopes no info was wrong or left out*

Might I get some training Goran? I think (hope) that I have a good grasp on using my character's magical abilities, but I'm a bit at a loss of using my character's weapons (bow and arrow, pair of daggers) to its full potential... and make it sound interesting at the same time.

Goron stood on the far edge of the training arena, directly across from Mitsukai. He smiled and bowed, as he had heard was customary before events in the dojo. Goron assumed a ready stance with a single shuriken in his left hand.

"You may use any weapon you like, but no magic for now. Show me what you can do, Mitsukai."

((Oh so you're a Guardian hopeful? Very nice.))

((I'm terribly sorry for the lateness. *offers a cookie* And I have been accepted into the Guardian group. Also, my character's name is Nynaeve. Sorry for not clarifying this earlier.))

Nynaeve nodded once before snapping both of her metal fans open. Made purely of refined steel, both of the "fans'" length was only half a foot long when in their unfurled state. Panels of steel connected together formed their shape. The tip of each panel was thinned to a razor sharp point. These points would not be easily snapped off however because of the high quality of the steel.

She took a ready pose of left foot half a step in front of the right foot, weight on the balls of the feet with the two fans crosses in front of her. Because of the way the panels were connected, Nynaeve could have the fans curve outwards or inwards like she was doing now, just by changing the way she was holding them in her hands. The way the panels overlapped, each panels' edge at a diagonal, allowed no space between them and made the whole fan a shield as well as a weapon. Striking emerald eyes watched Goran carefully over the razor tips.

With Goran's choice of weaponry, rushing headlong into attack would be pure foolishness. The shuriken would reach her first before she could reach Goran first. Of course, she could use this to her advantage, but she preferred to have her opponent attack first so that she could gauge the opponent's level and fighting style. Thus, she waited.

So far, so good. When you use an uncommon weapon, it is a good idea to do a thorough description, much like you did in that last post. I would hardly call it over-the-top.

There were a few minor grammar issues, coincidentally they were both in the same sentence.

As was her style, Nynaeve waited until the very last possible moment to react. A little bit risky one might think because it's very posible that she might respond too late... but it gives her the advantage of not falling for any false attacks.

Although Nynaeve was sorely tempted to go into a defensive stance at Goron's head-on charge, years of training prevented her from moving too soon. Fortunately for her, she had waited just enough to see the change in attack and acted accordingly.

With the shuriken in Goron's left hand, and him spinning clockwise rather than counter-clockwise, his right side would be open. Nynaeve took a small leap back so that hopefully the shuriken would not make contact, using the fan in her left hand as a shield just in case it did, and held the fan in her right hand parallel to the floor at abdomin (sp?) height.

Had she been using a shorter range weapon like a dagger, there would have been no way that the weapon would be able to cover the distance between the two fighters. Nynaeve's fans were half a foot long- long enough to reach Goron.

Since Goron was in mid-attack, it would be very difficult to just stop and dodge her counter-attack. Nevertheless, Nynaeve still hoped for the best.

Your spelling and grammar are excellent, with the exceptions of possible and abdomen, which you noticed had something wrong with it.

As for your defense, I can note only one problem.
