Hi, I've joined your ranks

Some of you probably know me from JRChat, Albia 2000 and Creatures Caves, so hello! Smile

Admittedly, I've never been into roleplaying in the past, but now I have a reason for wanting to try my hand at it. In September, I'm going off to university to do a BA honours degree in English and Creative Writing, and after that, I hope to write children's literature. Maybe not so much novels like "Harry Potter" or "The Chronicles of Narnia", but perhaps short stories/picture books - think "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" or "Where The Wild Things Are".

Whilst I'll probably pick up the skills I need whilst studying for this degree, I'm hoping that joining in here will help develop my writing skills, (Embri's idea actually) or at the very least help me to hone character development abilities. Call it experience, practice, whatever - I'm here to become a better writer.

So, don't mind me as I observe you all from the shadows, or even join in if I feel brave enough (and if you'll put up with me Wink

). Maybe you guys can teach me a few things!

Welcome to Blackstar, my friend. We'll spare you the usual spiel about RPing, as I somehow doubt it'll apply at the moment. For creative writers, there's the amphitheater, which you are most welcome to use as a forum for things you wish to share with us all.

Thank ye for the warm welcomes, like I said, mostly I'm here for inspiration and to improve my creative writing skills - so you'll have to bear with me being a complete novice to all this roleplaying jazz. Feeling pretty lost here right now. Razz

And thank you Embri! I'll be sure to use the Amphitheatre went I have something to share. Smile

Right now though, I'm just jotting down any ideas and thoughts I have in my notepad. I do have a couple of Norn poems, maybe I'll share those? If you frequent A2K, chances are you've probably seen them already though.

You are most welcome to be here. You'll probably seek a spider belt path to match your stated goals for RP'ing. Again, Embri will take good care of you.

Greetings Laura, I don't know if you'll remember me or not. How's the column these days? It's been a while since I've checked it.

Anyway, I hope you do decide to join in around the Dojo. If you don't find an RP to your liking, why not start one? I'm sure some other members can point you in the direction of some of the current, decent RPs.

Oh, and, I must inform you that due to a shortage, we have a cookie tax in effect. Please place any cookies you own into this burlap sack, or failing that, any money/possessions/small children you can spare so we can buy/produce enough cookies for the demand. Thank you for your patronage.
