The Grettins

It is quiet in the forest. As it is nighttime, all of the critters are fast asleep. There might be a passing owl, but you would have to listen really hard to pick up that sound.

Suddenly...


CRASH! CRISH! BANG!

The Norn Explorers announce their presence.

"HORNANCE, YOU IDIOT!" yelled a female voice. It is that of a female kai norn named Maysa who is anything but peaceful. The norn she is yelling at, Hornance, is a clumsy red banana norn, who had just tripped over some pots.

Others in the Norn Explorers come out of their tents to see what the commotion was about. Nersen, a nerdy Hebe norn, wipes his glasses and puts them on.

"Hornance, Maysa, could you keep it down? I was almost finished with solving pi."

"Pie? Can I have some?" said a very dumb Animal norn male named Juse.

A blue female norn with ettin hair and no ears dreamly stepped out of her tent. Her name is Lusa.

As all this commotion is going around, the group doesn't relize they are being watched.

Suddenly, there is a yell, and someone from their party disappears.

They look in shock at the empty place where that norn was, and slowly they begin to walk towards it.

They are not saying a word as they go past the spot and peek through the bushes to see...

A grettin tribe! Many ettins with different grendel parts dance around a fire, wooping and the like. In a place a bit to the left, the missing party member is tied to a pole along with other prisoners.

And then they see it.

A huge grettin, who might be the chief, sits there, eating the meat off of a....

Grendel arm.

Several grendel slaves tend to many of the royal members, and a few grendel eggs lay on a table, some of then broken.

The explorers have come across a grettin tribe that eats grendels, and might eat them if they are not careful. What will happen?

Notes: Is pale in color, which makes him look a little like a ghost. To make him even more ghostly, he can fly. His head, body, and legs are angel, his arms and tail are Midsummer.
He can use magic, altough what kind of magic and what element of magic he uses is not known....
Although he is part of the exploration team, he actually plots against them, waiting for a time to kill off the entire group for his own advantage.

Notes: Saldia is tall for her age, and a catpured norn. She is violent, with hair that seems to always be messy and a tendancy to lash out at the grettins if they approach her.

Saldria glared at the largest visable grettin. She'd been tighting her bonds for a while, and they were getting weaker bit by bit. Soon she'd be free.

Soon she would escape, and nothing short of broken/lost limbs or death itself would stop stop her.

Age: 17
Gender: Female
Notes: A rare occurrence happened when she was found by the Grettins, only two years old and abandoned. Instead of eating her, they accepted her into the tribe, and taught her their language, customs, and way of life. Despite being a different species, she is friendly to many of the females of the tribe, and they return the favor.

Hasa sat in the hot spring with three of her best friends: Aa`Nadnes (Naddy), Ik`Kudef (Kuku), and Sha`Mahtel (Mata).

"Sooo... is it true, Hasa?" Mata asked, with a smile on her face.

"Is what true?" Hasa responded.

"That you like Cho`Makehr, you idiot! Everyone talks about it!" exclaimed Kuku.

"Th-they do?" Hasa's eyes widened. 'Ohhh, boy. I'm in for it now... 3...2...1...'

"OH MY GODS! IT'S TRUE!" all three girls shrieked.

Back at camp, the other Grettins and anyone else in the area could hear the girls. Of course, to anyone who didn't know the language, it sounded like:

"OH MO WETJ! AK'J KHIO!"

Nersen was curious, so he decided to see what had made that noise. He crept over to the spot where the three girls were. He saw the kai norn, Hasa. He noticed she had lovely long kai norn hair and a soft, kind looking face. His heart, which had mostly been set on solving Pi, was now pounding. It was beginning to irritate him.

He stepped out of his hiding place and looked at the three, then he said "hello..."

Hasa and her three Grettin friends spun around. All of them were in their skimpy bathing clothes, so needless to say, they were very embarrassed. It was considered inappropriate for females to let any male see them in these clothes but their husbands, and it was a crime punishable by exile for males to spy on females in these clothes.

Hasa felt a little lightheaded when she saw Nersen. But, nonetheless, she had been taught that modesty was of capital importance, so she screamed several Grettinish obscenities at the poor Norn. After her swearing tirade, she yelled:

"GO AWAY! GO AWAY!"

But to non-Grettinish speakers, it sounded like "WE UNUO! WE UNUO!"

Nersen backed away, thinking he had frightened the women. He suddenly tripped over a nearby rock and hit his head on a nearby tree. His glasses broke and he was unconscience with a large bruise on his head.

Suddenly, who else crashed through the forest than Maysa?

"NERSEN YOU ABSOLUTE IDIOT!" she said, her voice reaching to the general level of a banshee. "YOU WILL STAY WITH THE GROUP OR YOU WILL GET EATEN BY THESE CANNIBLES!"

Without further ado, she grabbed Nersen by the limp arm and dragged him away.

Lunu hung above Nersen and Maysa in a tree, his feet on the trunk and holding onto a branch with his left hand. His other hand was curled in a fist.
Stupid fools, he thought, snarling.

Regardless, he knew he had to restrain himself from leaping upon the two and slitting their throats on the spot. If he waited, he could take out the rest of the entire exploration group in one go.
