A farewell to the Dojo.

Embri takes on last look around, satisfying herself that all is as it should be. With a weary tread, she climbs up on top of the flat marble dais in an overgrown corner of the Palace Garden. Nudging her nose into the black satchel slung over her shoulder, the mare draws out a single paper scroll and drops it at her hooves.

With a final word, she invokes the magic coiled beneath her. It takes mere moments, flesh and flame solidifying into gray marble and stone.

A fluttering breeze unfurls the paper, discarded next to the newest statue.

My fellow Dojodians,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share such wonderful times with you. My work here is as complete as I can make it. I take with me many fond memories and I keep them close in my heart forever.

I don't know if I'll be back one day. I hope so. Until then, please be kind to DP, as he won't have much help left. Nothing would make me happier than to return to an even bigger, more prosperous Dojo.

I leave Ajaxon in the care of Au'Marui and Angel. Be kind to him, please. I've also left Au'Marui with a copy of all my work, so when he finds a new spriter for Blackstar, they'll have that to draw on.

*A small child slowly makes his way towards the note. His silver hair slightly damp from whatever. He reads the note and takes off his hat before laying it down beside the note. A few light tears fall from his face and hit the ground around him.*

I never was good with goodbyes... I usually get angry instead...

Panther stares forelornly at the statue, before holding up a long black claranet that she brought with her. She bows deeply, a frown apparent on her face. "You were a great friend, and an inspiring person, Embri. We'll alway remember you..." And with that, she put the instrument to her lips on begins playing a slow, sad melody.

*For the longest time Angel can do no more than stare at the note with tears running down her face, asking over and over why. Slowly she sits down against the plinth with her head on her knees*

*As the melody carries over the winds, they suddenly shift as DP seems to fade in from nowhere. Bending over, he picks up the note, reads it, tears welling in his eyes.*

This is a sad, sad day for the Dojo. It's always a shame when we lose one of our family, but one who has done as much as Embri has done for us, it hurts worse.

You'll be missed, dear friend.

*DP pulls a flute (yes, a flute) out of his sheath, and puts it too his lips, joining Panther in her song.*

EnD approaches the statue and looks up at it, clicking his mandibles lazily. In his Infrared he sees the last of the orange heat dissipate, leaving a hardly recognizable blue outline against the background. He turns around and faces the others.
"Purrrr....I see no reason to grieve over this, friends. It is truly a shame that she has gone, for sure. However, remember that she can come back at any time, unlike those who have...'passed on'. Besides, until then, we still have this wonderful statue to remember her by. Although, I can barely see it and thusly it isn't very spectacular in my eyes, heheh. But, I think a few sentimental words are in order. This statue's importance will be lost if future Dojodians don't know what it is, right?"

He pulls one of the laser sight pieces from his mask and holds it in front of the statue, ready to etch something before Embri's feet with the high-powered laser. After a brief pause, he looks over his shoulder at the others.

"I'm not very good at sentimental phrases...anyone care to help me out?" he asks with a forced grin.

Aara came walking slowly over to the statue. She obviously couldn't believe, that one of the few people who treated her kindly had left. Tears started to pour down her face, and she slumped to the ground in front of the statue. "E-Embri..." She said sadly. "I'll miss you so much. You were a kind and loyal friend..." She whispered, staring up at the statue from her position.

Goron stood with his back to the palace wall, looking on at the block of granite that was Embri. He walked over to join the others, and lay a single flower at the base of the statue.

"We'll be searching for a way to reverse the effect. We'll bring her back... someday..." he murmured to the gatherers.

Goron removed something from seemingly thin air, and placed it at the base of the statue behind the flower. It was a plaque. He turned to join the rest of the group, he took one last glance at the inscription, as if to confirm its validity:

"Embri: The Fire of the Dojo."

Nasari buzzed up to the statue. Seeing the letter, she bowed her single-eyed head and began to pray in her native tongue.

"Mustga seqf er gta Taihazf...

Mighty gods of the Heavens...

B'xaifa jigpt ehad Embri uz tad g'dihaxf...

Please watch over Embri in her travels...

Izq mia tad bigt pdeff jugt uodf isiuz wumaqia.

And may her path cross with ours again someday."

She opened the bulging leather bag tied to her upper mantis-claw and telekinetically pulled out some dried mint, lavender, vanilla, two bowls, and some matches. She put the plants in the bowls, set them on either side of the statue, lit the matches, and set the plants on fire.

"Farewell, dear Embri. May you return one day."

Panther pauses her music after EnD's query, and ponders for a moment. "I don't know many sentimental phrases, but I do know a song that may fit the... occasion.

She weakly smiles as she prepares to blow into the claranet again. "How's that?"

Well, I figured this was as good a place to do this as any.

Before Embri left, she trained up one among you so that he could to administrative tasks. Though he thought this was for the Guardains site, I believe she was training a replacement.

And as such, it gives me a great honor to present Goron40 with the Gold Dragon of the Blue Mantis belt, signifying is new role as Medals and Items Admin.

For those unfamiliar with how we do things here, this is the role Embri first took on when she started doing work for the Dojo. This job, quiet honestly, has two parts. The first, the person goes out and surveys threads out there, and each month selects one to have a medal created for it, based off a set of standards. Embri made her's public, and Goron will probably choose to use those. The second is that Goron will now be in charge of delivering new stock of items for people to sell, as well as creating new items for people upon request. This method will remain the same as the way Embri had it, so expect no changes there.
