The most important part of role playing is the development of a character. This is required before you participate in most role plays. You can look at examples of characters in our Hall of Records. Once you have a character, you can post your profile in there.
Once you have a character and some training, you may wish to join a role play. The most active of Role Playing boards is The Wilds. There are many other role playing boards for RPs of a specific location or type. Explore as much as you can.
Several of the boards are non-RPing boards. Boards like Announcements, General Chat, and Bugs and Features are examples of non-RPing boards. Be sure to explore these too.
We only have a few rules:
1. Respect other people, and treat them as you wish to be treated.
2. Do not argue with the Admins and Mods. They have plenty of work already. If you really have a beef with something, discussing it in a logical and calm manner will get you miles farther than whining.
3. No Powerplaying. This means forcing actions on other people. For more information on Powerplaying and how to avoid it, please refer to "Powerplaying" on our wiki.
If you have any questions during your stay here, you may ask one of the administrators or moderators. You can recognize us by our belts: Gold Dragons on the belt of an Admin, Silver on the belt of a mod.
Should you be unable to contact an Admin or you want your answer quickly, you can always refer to the Blackstar Wiki.
Please also be advised that Blackstar is considered highly addictive and may result in symptoms of insomnia, crankiness, longing for insanity, and general RP itch if you discontinue use. |
Hopefuly I didn't give the new member the drink with alcohol in it. Or did I give that one to Goron?

Don't worry. People will understand. I'm fairly new and was a bit nervous too. I made a few posts and started to feel better.  We're all friendly here. Just watch out for Addman. He might eat that cookie and any other you get.
BTW. The part that says this is addicting....is very true. Anouther rule that I always add is to have FUN! If you don't have fun why do it.

Hello there! Welcome to the Dojo. I was pretty nervous too when I first came here, even though I had prior experience with RPing. But after I posted some, I got a lot more comfortable.

Hey, hey, tone it down now, gang! Goodness, you're going to frighten the young lady half to death with such rowdiness!
Don't mind them, they're all just excited because we just got the Item Use Mod up and running... as they've showed off.
Anyways, there's plenty of time to learn about that later. For now, you might want to get started in the Hall of Records, deciding on your first character, or you can just hang out here until you feel like moving on. No need to go out, we'll order in!
*props up her hooves on the coffee table and stretches* Oh, how rude of me! I'm Embri, pleased to meet you. The resident flaming, flying unisus at your service. Most times, you'll see me galloping around working on the graphics and Shops around Blackstar.

 You throw the Mutant Chicken at DarkPsycho, and the fowl fowl screeches as it flies through the air in cloud of stench and feathers. Feathers ruffled, the Mutant Chicken squawks and takes off running, a mean glint in its beady red eyes.
