Unfinished Business

Phase, out of respect to the phrase 'I yeild', and out of his respect to Fade, he lets go of her thumb, thus allowing her wrist to become relieved from his twist.

He also draws his sword from the side of her head, and respectfully lets the blade point towards the ground. Phase regards Fade with an emotionless stare, "I do not know who has trained you, but, weaponry should have come first, before hand to hand combat..."

*Fade stands up, slightly rubbing her twisted wrist... Until Phase mentioned the one who'd trained her. If there was one thing in this world that could shatter the shield in her mind that separated her from her emotions, it was to mention her mentor*

*Fade regards Phase, her eyes showing her struggle inside to keep her anger from shattering her control*

Wraith did not have the opportunity. He did not live long enough

Phase regards her just as coldly, "He trained you hand to hand combat first? And then died? I was trained with weaponry first hand, and then hand to hand.

It has served me well. In what circumstances did he die?"

[Swix]

He trained me in many forms of weapons but it was not complete. There were many of us and we were attacked.

*Fade explained, looking Phase straight to show she was not lying*

I am the only one I know who escaped. I do not know what became of the others

Still unimpressed by her training, "Hmph, even still, a true trainer would have had safeties in place, for you to continue training with a new mentor." Coldly, but not intentionally, "What do you wish to train with now? Perhaps, twin blades?"

((He's not purposely trying to push her, but I am....

I wanna see that dagger work! ))

*Fade sucks in a breath, almost struggling. The barrier between her emotions starting to break down, she found all she wanted to do was lash out at Phase despite knowing that would be a bad idea*

There were safeties. They knew exactly where we were, what we were doing and what our powers were. Both Wraith and Spectre did their best to see them through

*Her voice now tinged with anger, wioth emotion. Something that had not passed through her voice for years*

"A second master? You had two masters, and neither completed your training?

Indulge me as to these safeties?"

His pale grey eyes watch her intently, he can see her struggling for some reason, her emotions? His hand slightly grips the hilt of his sword tighter...

I did not. It was required, one group to be trained by Wraith, one by Spectre. I was in the group trained by Wraith

*Fade seemed to spit the words out. How dare he insult them both in front of her. How dare he doubt their abilities. In all of Fade's experience she'd never come across anyone who matched their level of skill. Phase came close, but he was not there*

The safeties were... are... none of your business!

*She said, puling her Dagger out and lashing at Phase with the short sword as she finally lost control of her anger. Normally cold watery grey eyes now burning with rage*

Phase, mostly surprised by Fade's break down of emotions, betraying anything that she'd been trained. Seeing the dagger thrusting towards him, he had spun around quickly, with a slight forwards movement.

Bringing his sword around with him, he places the blade across the back of Fade's neck. In his other hand, he begins to form a secondary blade, an exact copy of his other blade.

"Do you disrespect your own teachers by unleashing your emotions?"

[Swix]

*Fade stops, feeling a blade to the back of her neck her rage lessens slightly. That is until Phase says she is disrespecting her teachers*

I do not... I would never...

*Fear, pain, remorse, regret, sadness all flow through her now the barrier had broken. Fade had not felt this bad since her childhood when her emotions had ran rampant, the blades held in anger now pointing at the floor*

I cannot control my emotions, the barrier... it-it is gone

*Now fear occupies Fade's voice, believing she would have disappointed Wraith. Fade was afraid, that Phase would cut her head off, that this was it. This was the end, and it had all been for nothing*

Seeing, and even almost sensing Fade's odd reluctance to retaliation, continues to speak to Fade, he could not lower his sword though, in case she tried to attack out of anger, or spite.

Emotions, as unpredictable as they were, followed an oddly predictable pattern, "You did not channel your emotions as a child did you? You were instructed to lock them away. In there, you have locked painful memories too.

Think of your mind not as a box, but as a storage warehouse, in which you can store many boxes. You should separate your memories into different boxes, as well as your emotions. They are much easier to safe gaurd.

Or perhaps, your icon so to speak, you dagger, Sapphire I believe, channel everything towards it. It may help. Otherwise, I have no choice but to force unconsciouness upon you..."

He doesn't move, twitch or act as if he is going to do anything, remaining cold, and calculating...

*Fade drops the short sword, it clatters to the floor as she grips the hilt of the Sapphire Dagger with both hands and holds it up to her eye level*

*She wondered how Phase knew, they'd only had a psychological duel once, before he'd flicked through her memories when she hadn't realised it? Or was he just picking up on things?*

*Inisde her mind things were absolute chaos, emotions running rampant and unchecked, bringing up painful things that had no relevance to the situation. Fade figure the Dagger may be her best chance, so attempts to channel everything towards it*

Phase quietly observes as Fade attempts to channel her emotions towards the dagger, but still appears to be struggling, so, his assistance is again offered in a most factual tone of voice, "Perhaps, tt may help to speak of your memories. To help organize your thoughts."

The last thing he wanted to do was to knock her unconcious, so her mind could rearrange itself, changing the properties of the hilt of the sword, the sword becomes more of a stun sword, containing enough of a shock to knock men more resiliant than Phase himself unconcious...

*Fade breathes in deeply, she'd seen others do it before, it helped calm their emotions before they said anything they deemed difficult*

My parents were not what you would call loving, or even efficient. My childhood was not pleasant. I was blamed for every little thing, hit when they wanted me to wake up or my attention. Left on my own with no knowledge of how to fend for myself. Alone, so alone

*Loneliness now made itself known, while anger subsided but remained not for Phase but for her parents. This too was attempted to be channeled into the Sapphire Dagger, her efforts a little more concentrated now*

They... made me angry and afraid. I did not know what to do, so I ran...

*She pauses, obviously there is more but she is holding it back. She doesn't want to say it, she knows she should but she doesn't want to. Emotions holding her back*

Phase was about to continue guiding Fade, to help her take control of her emotions, when, the door quietly opens, but made enough noise to attract his attention. Looking over, a man in a brown, jumpsuit? was stood there. "Excuse me. You are Phase and Fade?"

Phase, keeping his attention of Fade, "If you don't mind, we are, busy."

Pulling out what appears to be a letter, "This is of utmost importance. I was told to bring it directly to you."

Phase, narrowing his eyes, "If it is important, read it. My, aqaintance is having, problems."

Looking a little nervous at the blades Phase is holding, and the emotional state of Fade, he could only wonder what was going on. He unfolds the letter, looking at it oddly for a few seconds, and, clearing his throat, "It, it uhm, says, 'You have a son.' Then....."

Interupting him, "I think I misheard you. Could you speak a little more clearly?"

His hands shaking slightly, "You have a son."

Phase narrows his eyes, for once he doesn't have an answer, only a question, "It is, addressed to us both? Correct?"

Lowering the letter, "Yes........"
