Best of luck finding an artist, Intyalle; sadly they're in pretty short supply. I've been looking for another artist for Blackstar that's reasonably consistent with my style, but so far no luck. *sigh*

Looks like it's going to be a solo show for a while yet. If you're not artistically inclined, I'd suggest you work on learning the very best PHP you can, since invariably the owner/admin team of successful forums almost always have one of those two skills. While it's possible to make a very successful forum on free hosting, it's a lot harder, simply because your options are limited. Since graphics *are* one of the things you can mod on a free host (usually...) it's worth the effort to track down your own resident artist; however, I'd recommend holding off until you have a few more members and some activity - most people with established skills don't want to invest them in something that doesn't look like it's going to be successful.

That's my two yen, so I'll stop rambling now...

Oh, I already have a resident artist. On this forum and my Pheonix Feathers forum. We met on ~..:Only in your Mind:..~, and I think he likes the compliments.

I'm just lucky to have a resident artist, because as I mentioned, I'm no good at it. I'm trying to learn php, but not finding enough sources. Not that I spend as much time looking as I should.

Unfortunately, I can't get off the free hoster. Even if I had the money, I have no way to pay over the internet.

I was giving the ones that he was my resident artist on. OT isn't mine, AND he isn't resident artist there, even if the actual artist has not been seen in months.

Actually, I think he might be going to make RPGF his home forum now. He's not even going to put that fantasy world on OT anymore because he's so mad at you.

Whatever his behaviour gets like (and everywhere he's joined recently, he's been fine), he's still a great artist.

I don't think he's mad at me anymore. He's a bit of a dunky-poo-poo (excuse the language) if he's going to be mad at me because I banned him for insulting MY artwork. He's note really that great. He gets images of the internet and applies effects to them. Or makes really simple images then gets PSP to do the work.

So he can use image programs better than me. It doesn't lower the quality of his work in my eyes.

And with the Pheonix Feathers banners, I was kinda going for reasonably simple.

I haven't picked one yet - there are three entries. Just go to the PF forum and look at them - the addresses to all but my one are there. Trust me, you don't really want to see mine - you might go blind. If you insist, however, there is a pic of mine under "Competition Entries" (the others haven't made it there yet, I'm too lazy). Don't say I didn't warn you!

Everyone and their mother runs their own forum these days, I think I'm going to set my own forum too. I'll call it the Whackstar Mojo, and it'll be dedicated to the art of PR. I will call myself the Shady Nutcase, and I already have an artist lined up called Briem, the icy donkey, who will do all my art for me. Also, I have another Admin named Boron who'll help out from time to time.

It cannot fail!
